| My husband is a big hip hop fan & I went along for the ride! But this was great for both of us - he was able to ask questions about things he already knew aswell as finding out new things & getting to see legendary hip hop sites, & I was able to get an understanding of some of the background to hip hop culture. It was also a great way to see some different parts of new york. | ||||||

| Excellent tour, excellent guides, great value. I've toured the spiritual home of Opera [La Scala in Milan (Italy)] and been to the home of Ballet [Mariinsky in St. Petersburg (Russia)] ... the hip-hop tour of NYC is much more moving and a better experience ! | ||||||

| This trip with its information and especially with the explanations from Caz Fly was surely one of the best things of our 5ht New York trip and we strongly recommend it for all people who are interested in HipHop. All the stops were interesting and we also loved the food and the CDs we bought. We really had a lot of fun. Back home we listened to our old vinyl records and found one "Wild style" with Grandmaster Caz, is this Caz Fly? Anke and Frank from Germany | ||||||

| The Hush hip hop tour led by the one and only Grandmaster Caz was one of the greatest days of my life! Being shown around Harlem and the Bronx by one of the pioneers of hip hop, not some phoney tour guide, was as authentic as you'll get. Seeing all of the graffiti and getting to walk on Rucker Park is something I'll never forget. Caz was friendly, knowledgeable and made for a terrific day! Finally the food at Mama's Soul Food was amazing and the staff and diners were also very friendly. Thanks Hush and thanks Caz! | ||||||

| The Hip Hip Legends tour was excellent! I was a little apprehensive before the tour, but there was no reason to worry - this is a 100% professionally organised tour, with safety and enjoyment at it's heart. Everyone on our bus had varying degrees of knowledge about Hip Hop and where it all began, but the tour catered for everyone. Everyone who went on the tour came away learning something new (even those that lived through the early days in New York!) This was solely down to the excellent Grandmaster Caz! He was the ultimate host - funny and factual, with an energy and enthusiasm that was infectious. My highlight was the Graffiti Hall of Fame in Spanish Harlem (the main reason for me going on the tour), but there wasn't a dull moment. Getting the opportunity to attempt to breakdance in Rucker Park or try some genuine Soul Food in Harlem. Seeing the venue of the first ever Hip Hop party - where it all began! And above all, you get to be shown round by a real legend! Thanks Hush Tours for a great day out - I will be back! | ||||||

A different and unique experience

| I personally know quite a lot about hip hop and its origins, and am a big fan of this music genre in particular and of many other music genres. I love listening to the great motown legends and the apollo was a great highlight for me, as was meeting the legendary Smokie Robinson which left me star-struck. Walking through Harlem was also very interesting and both myself and my husband felt comfortable strolling along the streets of this historic neighborhood. Reggie Reg was our guide, and at first he used a microphone which allowed us too to hear about the history we were walking through, even though we were often at the back. Unfortunately, very early on, he claimed that his microphone was not working because the batteries were flat (he should come ready with charged batteries) and from this time on we generally had no idea of what was being said by him. He also failed to wait for everyone to catch up before explaining about a site. These are things that can be corrected, and from what we did hear, Reggie has great knowledge of hip hop and it's history and is a fun guy to be around. Despite these mishaps, both my husband and I recommend taking this interesting tour. It is different and a unique experience. | ||||||

| the greatest thing about the tour was definitely the guide, grandmaster caz. he was very funny and inspiring - and he told some funny anecdotes about the birth of hiphop. if you can live with the awkward feeling of going on a safari into places where regular people live (you'll - rightfully - catch some bitter comments from the people living in harlem and in the bronx) i can definitely recommend it. bless up! | ||||||

| I heard about the tour from a friend who lives in DC and had come to NYC specifically to take her family (w/ children) on the tour recently. My husband and I live in Manhattan and didn't even know about the tour. My husband is really into music and occasionally DJ's for private parties. I got the tickets as a surprise for him and we both loved it. It was fun and really interesting - a great day. Grandmaster Caz was the best guide you could ask for - he's a Hip Hop legend. It was really an insider's tour, and it was well done and professional . The food was great as well. We had a great group of people on the tour from all over the world - all different ages and backgrounds. There was a mother with her teenage son who learned some dance moves from a professional beboyer (breakdancer). One guy from the tour group actually had a dance off with the professional dancer. Grandmaster Caz did some MCing of his own songs and some freestyling too. Then two guys from the group both stood up and did their own freestyle rap. It was the real deal. | ||||||

| We were looking to do something different in NY and this certainly ticked the box. This is a great tour around Harlem and fantastic insight into the origins of Hip Hop music, provided by Reggie Reg from the legendary Crash Crew. If anything, the time went too quick. Very, very enjoyable. G Young (UK) | ||||||

| Being from the Canadian Prairies I wanted to see some Hip Hop landmarks while visiting NYC but I was not sure how to go about it. As I surfed the net I came across Hush Tours and immediately booked a Hip Hop Tour. The tour could not have been better. The 4 hour tour flew by as we ventured through areas of Manhattan, Harlem and the Bronx checking out various culturally important sites. Our "Hip Hop Legends Tour" included the delightful and modest Reggie Reg from the legendary Crash Crew. Other legends came along for the ride as well. Grandmaster Mele Mel from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and Easy Mo Bee were also on the bus. We also has the president of the Sedgwick & Cedar clothing line in our attendance. Reggie Reg was a fantastic host and described the history and culture of Hip Hop well. My wife, who doesn't know as much as I do about Hip Hop, found the tour to be very informative. I also learned knew details that I did not know about before. Mele Mel was hilarious on the tour and always had something to say. The bus was treated to a mini-concert as Mele Mel played emcee and performed "The Message" to us. Amazing! I highly recommend this tour because this is the best chance to meet some real Hip Hop artists and to understand the whole Hip Hop culture and it's history in NYC. This tour is equally entertaining for Hip Hop heads and people who would like to learn about Hip Hop. I would go again if I visited New York City just to see who I might get a chance to meet. | We are a couple from Austria and did the tour as part of our ten days New York stay. Grandmaster Caz really made an effort to convey what hip hop was about in the early days. So if you want to get an idea of the locations and people that created the hip hop culture in new york in the late 70 s this is probably he best tour you can get. You also get to see some parts of the city most other tours would not get you to. (Spanish Harlem, Bronx, the Lennox / 125th corner in harlem,...) We considered it an important part of the cities culture one should not miss. After all you cant ask Chagal what his paintings meant in the Museum of modern Art, but you can ask Grandmaster Caz. So get there and do so! Very entertaining and informative! | ||||||

| I've been all over the world and this was one of the most fun things I have participated in. Great guides, very informative, fun and a look inside a world that shows diversity makes us all better as a whole. I, and my nieces, had a great time and appreciate the professionalism and talent of the persons involved. I would recommend this activity to anyone, it was fun! | ||||||
