| My girlfriend (she is not a huge hip hop fan) and I attended the Harlem Walk it Out Hip Hop Tour. Our tour guide was Reggie Reg of the Crash Crew. He was so nice and knowledgeable. We really appreciated his outlook and the hands on approach the tour had. Nothing beats actually walking through Harlem and taking in all of the sights, sounds and smells. Be sure to have a lot of questions of your own to ask in order to really get the most of out of Reggie Reg. This tour is very much alive and interactive and is best suited for those who have don't have all the answers. My girlfriend came away with a definite deeper understanding of why I love to pump my hip hop loud now. We saw many historical areas that, while not specific to hip hop, were of great interest to me regarding Harlems history. We passed by many street vendors and I picked up a fantastic t-shirt featuring the Notrious B.I.G. off one of the street vendors. We wwnt into a record store as well where I would have liked to buy a few things. My point is that you should carry a little extra money if you want to buy anything during the tour. Of course another highlight was the Soul Food lunch we had. I am telling you that if you come hungry you will leave stuffed. The food was great and the people in the restaurant were very nice. All in all a great one of a kind tour that I want to encourage everyone to go on. I also purchased the CD from Hush Tours when I purchased the tickets and Reggie Reg brought it for me. I highly recommend this CD as it contains many of the hits of early hip hop. If you do not have an extensive collection of hip hop classics then you should for sure spend the 12 bucks and get this bad boy. Of course it also helps take me back to 106 and Park in Harlem everytime I pop it in my cars cd player! Thanks again to Reggie Reg and everyone at Hush Tours! | ||||||

| Pros: - Grandmaster Caz really knows what he's talking about - Caz brings you back in the late 70ies when all began - You'll get an impression why and how they started to create their own thing called hiphop - You'll get out of Manhattan, into Harlem and Bronx - You'll get to know the real story behind the Sugarhill Gang - You'll spend a nice afternoon worth every single dime you spent Cons: - You move around and see many places, but of course it's not the same like when you're visiting old Egypt. New York changed in the last years. You'll see graffitys but of course you won't see the original ones. - You don't go to deep into the real Bronx Once again, it's been a great tour, we enjoyed every single minute!! Regards from Switzerland Rolf and Barbara | ||||||

| The items given to us should have been ours to keep rather than having to give them back at the end of the tour. It would have been a nice gift as part of the tour. Also, the restaurant didn't accept credit cards, debit cards or checks....just cash. People should know this in advance so they could bring cash. We had just enough cash to eat a small lunch. If we would have know ahead of time we would have had more cash with us. | ||||||

| Caz really brings the story alive, ably abetted by the borrowed bling bringing further character! I would heartily recommend this tour to ANYONE with even a passing interest in the music. Its well organised, structured and unpretentious. An unforgettable experience for this Hip Hop old timer!!!!!!! | ||||||

| The tour was great! I learned a lot and I consider myself someone with a decent knowledge of hip-hop. Our tour guide was so into it all, it made the tour!! It was a great family outing and we now have a few extra bits of information about Hip Hop and New York. | ||||||

| We went on the Hip Hop Tour conducted by Grandmaster Caz on 3/31. Very informative and fun! I think what people may overlook about the tour is that is may give you an opportunity to see other parts of the city that you would overlook if you concentrated only on midtown. Also, the lunch place has really great food. Highly recommended | ||||||

| Hi I'd just like to thank the tour organisers and our guide for the day, Kurtis Blow! Due to the snow tour was delayed( understandable) but was well worth the wait for a very personal tour through hip hop culture from its humble beginnings.. great to get stories from one who was there 1st hand .. funny witty and very educational. You could tell all who are involved in the tour have put their heart and soul into the project. Very good that they keep it to small numbers ( 12 on my tour) - making it a very personal touch. tour was ended by Kurtis freestyling on the coach back to manhattan... awesome. Was my 1st time in New York and this was definitely the highlight for me.. Recommend this to anyone who likes to delve into music culture and, anyone who just wants a tour a little bit different to the normal tourist trips! Well done one and all for a briliant tour - damn sure i will do it again on my return ---- Keep the vibe alive, peace Carl from Warrington - England | ||||||

| I grew up in FL in a town that was almost 50% NYC transplants. My friends were almost entirely Inner City NY B-Boys. At 17 I finally made the journey to "mecca" aka NYC. I was able to see the borroughs that my crew crew up in. Brooklyn, Bronx, and Uptown. After high school I did whatever I could to move to the city. It was a great experience. I grew up as a hip hop head and loved every bit of it. It seemed that after high school however, hip hop became too "Gangster". All the artists would talk about was who had the best cars, gear, and who could shoot the best. Hip hop had become too commercial for it's own good. I started to lose interest. For a long time, all I simply lived in the past playing all my old tracks. The tour was very informative, it was cool to meet Reggie Reg and get first hand knowledge of the origins of hip hop. Reg was passsionate about the culture and was eager to share it with everyone. I would reccomend this tour to all my old school crew. We grew up reading the source and rap pages and we had a lot of knowledge but no one can pull it all together like the crew that was there. thanks! -Peace- | ||||||

| Tour was great. Got to see a different side to New York then museeums and the more wll known attractions. The tour is light and easy and conducted in an excellent manner. The guide explains in an easy and understandable manner the history of hip hop and its emerging styles and cultures. I have recommended this tour to all my friends and i am definitely going to do it again next time i visit New York | ||||||

| This was a great highlight of our trip to NYC. We live in Oakland, CA and have been waiting for years to go on a tour like this one. Our Guide, Rahim, was very informative, personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. We gained much insight into the origins of Hip Hop and of Harlem in general. We highly recommend this tour and we'll definitely do another one on our next visit! | ||||||
