| The hip hop tour led by Grandmaster Caz was great! We visited the site of Kool Herc's first parties, the graffiti wall of fame, and saw a number of important landmarks. Caz was entertaining and informative, even rapping his own version of Rapper's Delight to correct the original one that Sugarhill Gang made famous without crediting him as a lyricist. | ||||||

| We met at an easy location close to the empire state building. (only down side was our hotel was in Harlem so we had to travel all the way downtown just to go back.). The tour owner and bus driver were a little late, but no one seemed to mind...the tour was pretty laid back. Grandmaster Caz was great! He was a wealth of information about the hip-hop world and its inception. He was genuienly happy to education us about a cuture and music that some of the people on the tour knew nothing about. We saw the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home on the upper east side where such people like Biggie Smalls and Luther Vandross had their services. We saw the grafitti hall of fame in Harlem. We saw the Apollo Theatre, the famous Theresa Hotel (where plenty of celebrities have stayed), and "The Carlton" building from "New Jack City." We had lunch at "Mannas Soul Food Buffet and Salad Bar." The food was wonderful and the prices were reasonable (around $13 for 2 people). We also saw the mosque wear Malcolm X worshipped, and we spent some time at Ruckers Park. We drove over to the Bronx and saw the building where THE first hip-hop party was (remember August 11, 1973, if anyone decides to take this tour!) Our tour got a special bonus. While driving in the Bronx, we saw KRS-ONE giving an interview in a parking lot and we were able to meet and talk with him. He was really cool about it, and everyone just felt that was a great way to finish such a fun day. We had to cut one thing out of the tour due to the KRS-ONE detour, but no one cared. Grandmaster Caz performed one of his songs, which was awesome! We returned relatively on time to the same spot they picked us up. The bus was comfortable; a little warm a times, but we were getting off of it so much, you really could tell. All in all it was a great tour. If you like hip-hop music and want to see where it began, this is a great starting point. If you spend the night, I recommend staying in Harlem. I walked around Harlem the rest of the weekend and had an amazing time soaking in more history, and culture, and the great food! Thanks Hushtours! | ||||||

| We had to wait 15 minutes while the bus was set up. Setup with what I don't know since, there was nothing on the bus when we boarded. What the website depicts the tour to be, was actually the last thing it was. The tour guide kept saying how we were driving in his home town, yet couldn't remember what street to exit off of. Pretty sad. I would not recommend this tour to anyone, it was boring, uninformative and poorly planned. Total rip off!!!!!!! | ||||||

| I really enjoyed thsi tour, it was everything I wanted it to be. My husband and I could not stop talking about this. This was something we decided to do for our 1 year anniversary of marriage and we were more than satisfied. A memoriable time. We recommed this to others, especially those who think they know about hip hop, but have no idea of the real thing... | ||||||

| MY 18 year old son and I had a great time on the tour. Saw a lot of New York we would not have seen and learned a lot about the history and culture of hip hop. Grand Master Cruz was great - on only 1 hours sleep! The food at the luncheon stop in Harlem was also good. Would recommend highly. | ||||||

| It was great to be with Grandmaster Caz and a highly international group of attendees. I learned so much and had an awesome time. I was in the city for 7 days and this tour was the best of my entire trip! I totally look at everything with new eyes-graffiti, hip-hop, rap, breaking, everything is different now! Caz is a highly entertaining, charming, friendly, intelligent and informative guide, and the group was really friendly and excited to participate. It was also great to watch everyone breaking in Rucker Park with Mighty Mouse. All in all, in was an honor to spend time with Caz and the group as a whole! | ||||||

| I personally have never been a fan of hip hop which is not uncommon for my age group. When my son realized I was taking my grandson and daughter-in-law to New York for a visit, he stated he had always wanted to participate in a hip hop tour. My grandson, age 11, also indicated he would enjoy this. I agreed because I became more interested in hip hop by watching "So You Think You Can Dance". After determining the tour was "family friendly", I agreed to purchase the tickets. I must say it was an absolute delight. Everyone was extremely professional, well versed and had the ability to make everyone of any gender or age feel quite comfortable. I thoroughly enjoyed learning the history of hip hop and must say, because of this, I now have totally changed my view. Before this tour, I believed all hip hop was dirty language and totally disrespectful. I no longer believe this and am happy to have had the opportunity to learn the truth about hip hop. My grandson and daughter-in-law also enjoyed the tour. We purchased a CD which is currently being enjoyed by my grandson. It's wonderful to learn that just because a "culture" may not be one practiced by everyone, doesn't mean it's against good values. | ||||||

| This tour was much more that I expected....I am a local dj out of Texas that has some knowledge of "Old School" Hip Hop but not a lot since I cater to a different style of Music (Tejano)....This was an extremely educational tour...I learned so much from this expierence....I would highly recommend this tour for everyone...I took my wife and daughter with me and they had a good time also.....The only draw back if you can say this to be a draw back was that we had to eat our lunch on the bus since we were running short on time....To me this was the highlight of my visit to New York!!!!!!! | ||||||

| This tour not only provides a good background on the history of hip hop, but also gives you a view of New York City beyond the usual paths taken in Manhattan. Grandmaster Caz was our guide, he's funny and obviously knows what he's talking about. Considering what an uninformative taxi ride would cost for the miles we were taken, what we got to see and experience, this tour is WELL worth the value! | ||||||

| All I can say is this was the best tour I have been on!!! Our guide was Grandmaster Caz....what more do I have to say??!!! Caz was cool, down to earth, entertaining and informative. Even with the hectic traffic and detours due to the Mets/Yank game we still enjoyed ourselves completely. Also helping guide was Madness....he was bananas!!! Loved every bit of it. Lunch set it off too...delicious!! This was a wonderful way to bring our vacation to an end!! Much Luv, Your Girls from Cali | ||||||

| I've been all over the world and this was one of the most fun things I have participated in. Great guides, very informative, fun and a look inside a world that shows diversity makes us all better as a whole. I, and my nieces, had a great time and appreciate the professionalism and talent of the persons involved. I would recommend this activity to anyone, it was fun! | ||||||

| Overall, I thought the experience was well intentioned but I felt it came up short in a few ways. Our guide was very friendly and personable. It was great to have a member of a pioneering hiphop group, but I felt he could have benefited from some specific training in tour operation. He brought up a lot of interesting facts and stories but I thought his historical knowledge was a bit sprawling and patchy. The tour was really about the origins of hiphop more than anything, and not so much it's evolution. Basically we got as far as RUN DMC (which is really just the beginning), and stopped there. Also, the video at the beginning, while interesting did not relate to hiphop specifically. I think the video should be recommended to the tour group but should not take up a half hour of the tour. Great idea, many simple ways to make it alot better. | ||||||

| I had a fantastic time. Grand Master Caz was entertaining and gave us a great history lesson in the hip hop culture. We got to experience so many great neighborhoods while learning about hip hop. I enjoyed myself and would recommend this tour to all of my friends. | ||||||
