| I had a great time and learned a lot about the beginnings of the rap genre. Best parts: 1. I got to meet Raheim Williams from Grandmaster Flash! 2. We got to get off the bus and walk around the famous sites. 3. We got to take photos on and off the bus. 4. We ate at a fantastic soul food restaurant. 5. We got to see the Apollo Theater (the outside, anyway). 6. We felt safe the entire time. 7. Raheim performed an impromptu rap on the bus! 8. Guests got the chance to perform rap on the bus. 9. Raheim was genuinely friendly and funny! Things I would change: 1. Be able to enter the Apollo and look around. 2. See a break dance performance (I thought we were going to see one because there is a photo of one on the Zerve site). 3. Stress more that the souvenir CD samples songs and doesn't have the whole song. 4. Play more music on the bus. Match the songs to what the guide is discussing. Let the guide talk, then play a whole song, not just 10 seconds. Somehow more rap music should be worked into the presentation. 5. See a DJ demonstration in a gym or rec center (maybe combine it with the break dance). 6. Get a free t-shirt with each ticket purchased. 7. Pimp up the bus with spinning hubcaps, gold chains, etc... | ||||||

| We were 2 adults and 2 teenage boys( 13 and 15) with a limited knowledge of hip hop. It was the perfect activity to please eveyone and took us to places that we never would have visited otherwise. We were very excited to meet Rahim! He was a great guide : informative, entertaining and just a really nice guy. Good lunch. We all loved it - a great day which I would thoroughly recommend. | ||||||

| we were in NY for 1 week with my husband's 2 teenaged brothers. my husband and i are both in our late 20s. this tour was really great. i love music and listen mostly to rock and alternative. so getting informed about hip hop history and culture was quite a treat! this tour is good for all ages, there were grandparent-y types in our tour too who enjoyed it. our tour guide was engaging and he even performed a few rap songs in the end of the tour. it makes me appreciate rap as poetry and not some mindless recitation of words. to top it all off, the soul food lunch we had was awesome. the 2 teenagers we were with said it was the best meal we had in our whole trip! it's really a good tour to join if you have time. it beats joining typical touristy double-decker tours since you get exposed to the other side of new york. | ||||||

| Our tour guide was Raheim from Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five, and he was great at breaking down the orgins of hip-hop culture. My brother said it was one of the best tours he's ever been on and I agree ! If you want to avoid the tourist traps and visit the real New York, this tour is not to be missed. | ||||||

| Although billed as a hip-hop tour, this was at least as much a walking tour of Harlem in general. That was fine with us, but it might be included in the description. Also, we ended up pretty far away from our starting point by the official end of the tour. Again, this was not a problem for our family, but it might be for tourists who expect to be returned to their starting point. Our tour guide was very friendly and personable. | ||||||

| We probably seemed an unlikely group to be on the tour. Two middle aged white parents with their teenage sons. However, we all thoroughly enjoyed it . Our sons are big into hip hop - as Rahim may have told you!!! We too are very interested in all forms of music and youth culture. Rahim was a great guide. He managed to convey hip hop's history in a way which highlighted its relevance to its present day forms - music and graffiti. We all know and love Grand Master Flash and the Furious Five, so it just gave it that added something to be guided by a one-time member. The trip to the Graffiti Wall of Fame was a great moment, especially for my eldest son who is a bit of an artist himself. I think we would all have liked to see some more 'informal' graffiti too, but perhaps the Mayor's 'zero tolerance' has made that impossible? From my point of view, I was really pleased to see graffiti by young women on the Pink Wall. Going to Harlem was brilliant. We live in multiracial south London, but there is still nowhere to compare Harlem with here. I loved the energy of the place. I The tour was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.We were just sorry that we couldn't manage the coach tour too, but we'll definitely do that next time. You have a great thing going. Thank you. Heather Wakefield. | ||||||

| It was great to meet a legend Grandmaster Caz, he was very enthusiastic, entertaining and had a vast insight to the history of Hip Hop. It was good to visit places like Bronx and Harlem which as tourist you are generally put off visiting. This tour made you feel quite safe going to these areas and highlighted the transformation that has taken place. Time flew by on the tour and you felt like you wanted it to last longer. Our 9 year old daughter and 5 year old son really enjoyed it; their best part was wearing the bling and the kangol hats. Visiting Rucker Park & the Graffiti Hall Of Fame was of special interest to my husband. For my 19 year old nephew, the soul food at the restaurant was the highlight of the tour. Great value for money and would recommend it to anyone visiting NYC with an interest in Hip Hop. The Catford (London) Crew. | ||||||

| A delightful tour that really captures the flavour of the early days of hip hop. All first hand experience - you can't get this stuff any other way. My 16 year old and I had a great time. | ||||||

| For someone who loved the Furious Five as a teenager it was a huge thrill to go on a tour hosted by Rahiem. It was really good to see places in Harlem and the Bronx that I would never have gone to independently. | ||||||

| Our family which included parents in their 40's and our three teenagers had been to New York several times and try to do something different each time we visit the city. We are from the Midwest. Found the Hip Hop tour while visiting a New York City website with a link to "Teen Scene in NYC". All of us thoroughly enjoyed the hip hop tour. The history, sightseeing around Harlem, the soul food lunch, the historical stops the tour made and of course our host, Master Caz right on the bus jammin was very cool. Our teenagers did not know what to expect and absolutely loved the tour and the time flew by! To be honest, us parents really didn't know much about the origin of the hip hop movement and it was fascinating and entertaining. Highly recommended for anyone who likes adventures a bit out of the box. | ||||||

| It was an untraditional look at New York City. Not everyone wants to see Times Square and the Empire State Building. New York city created the hip-hop culture and that deserved recognition! The food was excellent!!! | ||||||

| Fun and different tour where I learned alot about Hip Hop culture and shared the experience with my 19 yr. old son. It was interesting to see and hear about other parts of New York since my tourist experiences have been pretty much limited to Manhatten - theatre, dance, restaurants and shopping. Grand Master Caz was charming, engaging and informative. Even the range of diversity of the other tour goers was interesting. I thought the tour was well organized although could maybe be compressed into a little shorter time span, but maybe not considering the miles covered. I would particularly recommend this tour to families with children ages 12 and older since it is more challenging to find activites that both parents and teenagers can enjoy together. Lunch was great! | ||||||
