I'm an Hip Hop-activist out of Germany. Since 1988 I'm involved in the Hip Hop-movement in Germany as a B-Boy, Writer and MC. So it was my dream to travel to the birthplace of Hip Hop one day. Of course: I know allready a lot about Hip Hop - but every artist has to go to his roots one day: A dream came true! Bronx and Harlem are beautiful to the fullest....

No matter your level on interest in hip hop culture, this tour is for you. It was incredible to see the birthplace of hip hop and some of the sites I've only heard about in the music. The only things I wish would have been different would be that we were allowed to take pics from the bus and on the ride back, I wish Caz would have opened it up for us to ask him questions instead of the video. That is the only thing that kept this from being a perfect tour. |

Yes, my wife and me are older than fourty. Yes, Most of the other guests could have been our children. Yes, we would do it again. Any Time !
Caz and JDL gave us a lot of information about the beginning of Rap and Hip Hop. We love all kinds of music and were young when Grandmaster Flash had his first hit. The information and the explanations given are great value. And besides all this the guests get an impression of Harlem and the Bronx. Don't miss it! We had a great time and will be back for another tour. Thanks Caz and JDL ! |

Loved the tour, guides where exceptional, really enthusiastic and down to earth, this made it a big hit. Content wise it was definately aimed at the layman, but that was to be expected....really enjoyed the anecdotes and stories of how it life was like for those pioneers back in the day. Fully recommend |

We liked the way the tour combined active and passive elements. There is no second of boredom, everything is well-thought-out. J.D.L., GrandMaster Caz and Mighty Mouse are realy likeable and deeply committed guys. They did a great job!!! |

For those who know about hip hop already, it may be better to take the big tour, which goes to the Bronx etc. But the Harlem tour remains very interesting. It is a nice way to get introduced to this area of New York, by people who made it what it is today, and know a lot about the neighbourhood. The walking tour is also a more intimate way to discover the neighbourhood (and to meet the guide), somehow nicer than a bus ride. Plus, for any hip hop fan or activist, it is a real thrill to meet the very legends that built this culture. We got the chance to meet JDL from the Cold Crush Brothers! He's a very nice and thorough guide, who made this tour an exquisite moment for us. He took a lot of pictures for us in nice spots of Harlem he knew about.
We recommend this Harlem tour as an original way to discover one of New York's most interesting places! |
