Hip-Hop Fan? This is a must...
Sat, Jul 28, 07   11:00 AM tumsey Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
I went with a 15 year old boy - and think I had more fun than he did. We learned all about the origins of hip hop (and I learned what the four legs of the hip hop table are) as well as visited important geographic sites in the hip hop world. I even got to learn some beat boying moves! (Now that I know what beat-boying is...).Lunch was at a soul food buffet with classics for the picky (mac and cheese) as well as soul food specialties for the more adventurous - like collard greens. Music accompanied throughout added atmosphere and helped set the tone. Lecture tour throughout as well - with stories, history, anecdotes and a bit of rapping (oops, I mean emceeing). Nice mix of on and off the bus experience.

Amazing!

A guided tour of hip hop landmarks in the city where it all began and guided by hip hop LEGENDS no less! You can't go wrong, people. My friends and I were fortunate to have the pleasure of Reggie Reg and the one and only Kurtis Blow. These two cats guided us through the rich history of old school hip hop while asking us to take in scenery that is legendary. If you know your hip hop, you know pretty much every story these guys will tell, but to hear it from people who helped create hip hop is a wholly different experience. Plus, one of my friends kinda tagged along and wasn't so much into the history of hip hop, but he was really positively surprised and learned a thing or two. Both Blow and Reg are elder hip hop statesmen and act as such. Plenty of smiles and no bad vibes whatsoever. You will not regret it!

A GREAT DAY OUT IN NEW YORK!!
Sat, Jul 14, 07   11:00 AM nilred1 Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
we were visiting New York (from Scotland) and booked this for our 12 year old son who has an interest in hip hop. we were unsure of how we would fit into the group as we are umm a wee bit on the wrong side of 40!! Grandmaster Caz gave us an insight into hip hop (ask him about the table!!) with humour and passion. We would never have visited harlem or any of the interesting places on our own. There is more to New York than Times Square!! I would recommend this to anyone who has no knowledge to those with lots of knowledge.

Fantastic Hip Hop Tour!

Being from the Canadian Prairies I wanted to see some Hip Hop landmarks while visiting NYC but I was not sure how to go about it. As I surfed the net I came across Hush Tours and immediately booked a Hip Hop Tour. The tour could not have been better. The 4 hour tour flew by as we ventured through areas of Manhattan, Harlem and the Bronx checking out various culturally important sites. Our "Hip Hop Legends Tour" included the delightful and modest Reggie Reg from the legendary Crash Crew. Other legends came along for the ride as well. Grandmaster Mele Mel from Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five and Easy Mo Bee were also on the bus. We also has the president of the Sedgwick & Cedar clothing line in our attendance. Reggie Reg was a fantastic host and described the history and culture of Hip Hop well. My wife, who doesn't know as much as I do about Hip Hop, found the tour to be very informative. I also learned knew details that I did not know about before. Mele Mel was hilarious on the tour and always had something to say. The bus was treated to a mini-concert as Mele Mel played emcee and performed "The Message" to us. Amazing! I highly recommend this tour because this is the best chance to meet some real Hip Hop artists and to understand the whole Hip Hop culture and it's history in NYC. This tour is equally entertaining for Hip Hop heads and people who would like to learn about Hip Hop. I would go again if I visited New York City just to see who I might get a chance to meet. One of the friendliest and enjoyable tours I've been on. An informative and entertaining trip. Got to meet some of the legends of early hip-hop who gave a unique personalised view of the roots of hip hop. Would highly recommend this trip to everyone!!

Great Experience!

We are a couple from Austria and did the tour as part of our ten days New York stay. Grandmaster Caz really made an effort to convey what hip hop was about in the early days. So if you want to get an idea of the locations and people that created the hip hop culture in new york in the late 70 s this is probably he best tour you can get. You also get to see some parts of the city most other tours would not get you to. (Spanish Harlem, Bronx, the Lennox / 125th corner in harlem,...) We considered it an important part of the cities culture one should not miss. After all you cant ask Chagal what his paintings meant in the Museum of modern Art, but you can ask Grandmaster Caz. So get there and do so! Very entertaining and informative!

A BIG CHEAT
Sat, Jun 16, 07   11:00 AM mberon Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
This activity was a big cheat. First, we stopped in a "graffiti mural" at East Harlem, which wasn't as good as the Long Island City one. Second stop was to make some basketball shots at Harlem, too. But the best was after, Grandmaster Caz said: "Let's go to the Bronx", and the Bronx which we saw was the Yankee Stadium title from the bridge, and then, back to Manhattan. I was stupefact, but nobody said nothing. The best thing too was we took a hat and chains around the neck by the staff, but at the end, we must return to them... (The hat was no Kangol, and the chains can be found at Chinatown...) The paradox is that the other excursion with Hush Tours was in the other extreme, was very dope and interesting.
