| My daughter requested for us to participate on this tour of which i was apprehensive.
The tour was well organised and factual and enjoyable to a mix of age groups.

| I am a 32 year old B Boy from England, my whole reason to go to NYC was to see first hand where Hip Hop began.
When i found out about the tour online, i thought yeah right like im going to meet a real pioneer....well how wrong was i!.
We found the meeting place easy, Debbie was really nice to meet, the group was a mixture of races ages and religions-the way real hip hop is.
When our guide arrived i was shocked to meet the one and only "Grandmaster Caz" from the hip hop legendary group the "Cold Crush Brothers".
I was shocked after seeing him on tv, movies and listening to his music for over 25 years of my life-there he was in front of me!!!! this guy is a legend no doubt, he really broke it down for everyone and explained in a fun way about hip hop-he really is such a nice person who answered all the questions even my annoying show of hands as i knew the answers to so many of his questions!!!.
The whole tour really did make my holiday to NYC complete and i would like to thank Caz and Debbie for that.
No matter if you know everything or nothing about Hip hop go and see a true master at work....i recommend this tour 110% for anyone.
Real Hip hop lives on!. |

| I had a great time and learned a lot about the beginnings of the rap genre.
Best parts:
1. I got to meet Raheim Williams from Grandmaster Flash!
2. We got to get off the bus and walk around the famous sites.
3. We got to take photos on and off the bus.
4. We ate at a fantastic soul food restaurant.
5. We got to see the Apollo Theater (the outside, anyway).
6. We felt safe the entire time.
7. Raheim performed an impromptu rap on the bus!
8. Guests got the chance to perform rap on the bus.
9. Raheim was genuinely friendly and funny!
Things I would change:
1. Be able to enter the Apollo and look around.
2. See a break dance performance (I thought we were going to see one because there is a photo of one on the Zerve site).
3. Stress more that the souvenir CD samples songs and doesn't have the whole song.
4. Play more music on the bus. Match the songs to what the guide is discussing. Let the guide talk, then play a whole song, not just 10 seconds. Somehow more rap music should be worked into the presentation.
5. See a DJ demonstration in a gym or rec center (maybe combine it with the break dance).
6. Get a free t-shirt with each ticket purchased.
7. Pimp up the bus with spinning hubcaps, gold chains, etc...

| We were 2 adults and 2 teenage boys( 13 and 15) with a limited knowledge of hip hop. It was the perfect activity to please eveyone and took us to places that we never would have visited otherwise. We were very excited to meet Rahim! He was a great guide : informative, entertaining and just a really nice guy. Good lunch. We all loved it - a great day which I would thoroughly recommend. |

| A delightful tour that really captures the flavour of the early days of hip hop. All first hand experience - you can't get this stuff any other way. My 16 year old and I had a great time. |

| For someone who loved the Furious Five as a teenager it was a huge thrill to go on a tour hosted by Rahiem.
It was really good to see places in Harlem and the Bronx that I would never have gone to independently. |

| I went on this tour with my Mom and brother and sister. We had no idea of what to expect...then Kurtis Blow walks on the bus! It was great to learn all the history of rap and to see some of the places I had heard about. The taping at the Apollo was the best part and the grafitti wall. They could have played more music on the bus.... |

| My wife and I took our two teenage sons on the tour when we were on holiday in New York. We had expected to endure the tour rather than enjoy it. The opposite was certainly the case. The day we went it was very very cold. New york was just getting over it's biggest ever single snow fall. The warmth of the greeting we received along with the burning enthusiasm made sure it was all worthwhile.
The guides, Rahiem and Red Alert gave us a lot of good information with passion and humour. There was loads of interaction with us. I was personaly struck by the fact that neither of these guys needed to be there. It was not a chore for them. They were obviously keen to impart their love of Hip-Hop and Rap to a wider audience.
The highlights for me were the performance on the bus by Rahiem and the meal in the very good restaurant in Harlem. The boys loved it all.
There are only two small points I would like to make that might improve things slightly: firstly it may be an idea to forget the hat and bling, give them to the guests to keep, or at least let them know when they are given out that they are only on loan. The other thing is that I'm sure an arrangement could be made to allow the tour guides to get a key for the graffiti wall, particularly as this tour promotes such a positive image of the art.

| Enjoyed the time, wished it went into the Bronx a little deeper. A ride around Yankee stadium was not what I expected. Could have been more about the birthplace and neighborhoods. |
