| No matter which way you cut it, the figures don't lie. The culture of hip-hop is now a global phenomenon on many levels including socially and economically. Finally, a tour has been put together to not only acknowledge the stats, but to credit those responsible. I may be way off base, but I think the tour should have local [if not national] government support. The popularity of the tour will undoubtedly grow in the coming years, by which point it will have possibly been hijacked by a corporation keen to promote his/her own personal cause. I know it's easy for me to say as an 'outsider', but the fact remains, hip hop culture has, and continues to offer many positives to people from all walks of life, races and ages. In the long tradition of African-American expression, it will surely go down in history and the 'pioneers' should therefore be held in as much reverence as those from the traditions of Blues, Jazz and Soul. Additionally, the tour should become the centrepiece of a wider series of regularly scheduled events and activities that can serve as a living record of the culture for both locals and visitors from across the world.
I was amongst the first of the many European followers of hip hop in the early eighties and prompted by pioneers like Dondi, Lee and Futura became a passionate and dedicated graffiti artist. I have since used my talents and skills to inform much of the work I do now both as an artist and professional designer.
I'm reluctant to criticise the tour because of the many, many positives. I will therefore, end by saying that with continued support, community participation and of course PR and advertising, the tour and of course the culture, will eventually become recognised as a jewel in New York's crown. |

| Absolutely recommend this tour to any Hip Hop fan. I'm an old school head / golden era b-boy. I had always dreamed of visiting New York for the simple fact that to me, a California native, the Bronx is like Hip Hop Mecca. Every B-boy has to make a pilgrimage. When I read about the Zerve tour, I knew that this was perfect for me. I would have never known how to see the places that made up the history of Hip Hop. This tour was exactly what I had hoped it would be. I even got to rub the Tree of Hope at the Apollo! Our host was Raheem from Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five...so dope! He was more than willing to answer all of my questions and discuss all things Hip Hop with me at great lengths. It was definately the highlight of my New York vacation. For anyone considering taking the tour, do it!

| This tour was off the hook!! Grandmaster Caz and Rahiem were so engaging and the best tour hosts you could ask for. Their wealth of knowlegde about the beginnings of rap was unbelievable and it was such a privilege to be in the company of 2 founders of the whole hip hop game. Not to mention how cool it was to have a tour takes you thru Harlem and the Bronx to see the real NY and not just your typical Manhattan tourist sites. All the sites we saw were amazing and damn, that soul food lunch, yum yum!!! This tour was the highlight of my trip for real and I would recommend this to anyone visiting NYC. If you don't love and have an appreciation for hip hop now, it's guaranteed you will after this tour!! |

| We knew nothing about hip hop and as tourists we were advisedto take this tour and we were so glad we did! Grandmaster Caz was funny, intelligent and a fantastic guide! We learnt so much and it was great to visit Harlem and the Bronx too. He's motivated me to learn more about Hip hop and we are telling all our Aussie friends to do this tour as it was the best tour I've ever done! Thank you! Tania and Goran (Australia) |

| This Hip-hop tour was one of the best guided tours I have ever done. It was really a lot of fun! We have been to the first hip-hop party spot in New York, that was very special !
Grandmaster Caz tought us a lot of stuff and entertained us at the same time. I strongly recommend this tour to everybody even if they are not that much into hiphop. It is as well a great cultural and historical tour. |

| Caz was great! We are long time fans of Hip hop from NY and knew much of the info already but still learned a lot and were very entertained. The tour description emphasizes "celebrity guides" so we had anticipated that we would be meeting Kurtis, Rahiem, Reggie or others as well. We loved the sites but wish we could have toured places inside too. The Apollo Theater; for example, was a cool stop but we couldn't see it well from inside the bus. While the lunch was fine, we would have preferred skipping it and having more actual hip hop tour time. The stop killed the momentum and was a distraction from the tour. Overall it was a really interesting tour though that we would reccomend and would definately take another Hush tour. |
