From Arriving in New York on Thursday I had been looking forward to the Saturday for the Hip-Hop tour and it didn't dissappoint. From being a die hard fan of the music and culture this was my highlight. Going back to the birth place of Hip-Hop was only right and with hush tours they know where to take you. With a legend like Kurtis Blow leading the tour and Heading down to the Boogie Down Bronx and seeing where it all started was a real experience. Heading up to Harlem 125th St and Malcolm X Blvd & seeing the 'Real New York' is a must. With Kurtis knowing everyone in Harlem we were able to go into the Appollo Theater and have our photo's taken in the world famous theater. Cheers Kurtis!!. Not forgetting an all you can eat Soul Food Lunch. We also headed down to the world famous Rucker Park. All in all this is a great tour. And not many tour companies would still let you on the tour even though you had accidentally booked for the next week by mistake!!( always double check the date take it from me!!) So if your in New York and love Hip-Hop check this tour out!!! Simon Weir aka DJ Si

Absolutely recommend this tour to any Hip Hop fan. I'm an old school head / golden era b-boy. I had always dreamed of visiting New York for the simple fact that to me, a California native, the Bronx is like Hip Hop Mecca. Every B-boy has to make a pilgrimage. When I read about the Zerve tour, I knew that this was perfect for me. I would have never known how to see the places that made up the history of Hip Hop. This tour was exactly what I had hoped it would be. I even got to rub the Tree of Hope at the Apollo! Our host was Raheem from Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five...so dope! He was more than willing to answer all of my questions and discuss all things Hip Hop with me at great lengths. It was definately the highlight of my New York vacation. For anyone considering taking the tour, do it! DJ Gummo, Garden Grove, CA

First off I want to thank Hush Tours (Sorry can't remember the helpful lady's name) for giving us a meeting point when our flight was delayed and we were half an hour late. Met the crew at 106 & Park where we walked around this school yard with all this sick graffiti including the "Graffiti Wall of Fame". From there we stopped at multiple historic spots. One being Rucker Park where Mighty Mouse B-Boy master gave us a dose of some NY b-boyin'. Which included a challenge from one of our fellow tour crew which was coo. Even though I may of knew a lot of the history already it was sick to see all the original birth places. Not to mention having Caz as a MC the whole time, #$%!ing sick! MC Delight was jokes " Who put this thing together? Me that's who!" a must see live. My fav moment had to be getting a pic of me and Caz in front of the birth place of Hip-Hop and now a landmark 1520 Sedgwick Ave. Strictly Unforgettable!

Pros: - Grandmaster Caz really knows what he's talking about - Caz brings you back in the late 70ies when all began - You'll get an impression why and how they started to create their own thing called hiphop - You'll get out of Manhattan, into Harlem and Bronx - You'll get to know the real story behind the Sugarhill Gang - You'll spend a nice afternoon worth every single dime you spent Cons: - You move around and see many places, but of course it's not the same like when you're visiting old Egypt. New York changed in the last years. You'll see graffitys but of course you won't see the original ones. - You don't go to deep into the real Bronx Once again, it's been a great tour, we enjoyed every single minute!! Regards from Switzerland Rolf and Barbara

Grandmaster Caz was entertaining, had a really good vibe and was so much fun. He had a smile on his face the whole bus ride. His performance was awesom and the information provided on each location was interesting and sufficient. I wud definately recommend to anyone. Old skool Hip Hop lovers from Bondi, Sydney are going to hear about this tour from me for sure.

we were in NY for 1 week with my husband's 2 teenaged brothers. my husband and i are both in our late 20s. this tour was really great. i love music and listen mostly to rock and alternative. so getting informed about hip hop history and culture was quite a treat! this tour is good for all ages, there were grandparent-y types in our tour too who enjoyed it. our tour guide was engaging and he even performed a few rap songs in the end of the tour. it makes me appreciate rap as poetry and not some mindless recitation of words. to top it all off, the soul food lunch we had was awesome. the 2 teenagers we were with said it was the best meal we had in our whole trip! it's really a good tour to join if you have time. it beats joining typical touristy double-decker tours since you get exposed to the other side of new york.

Travelled from the Liverpool in the UK to New York and this was the one tour that would let me see some of New York that you wouldnt see on the normal tourist trips. Also, being a big hip hop and electro fan, I just knew that this tour would not disappoint, especially with originals from the furious five and fearless 4 with us hosting the tour. The tour was absolutely brilliant. I think the best for me was actually visiting the location where DJ Kool Herc first laid down his first set - the beginning of it all. I felt absolutely honoured to be in the presence of the pioneers from Hip Hop and to hear their stories and see the love they still have for something that happened so long ago. If you are a fan of music and want to learn something of a culture that is as much a part of New York as the Empire State Building then I recommend this tour to you. There are some major historical landmarks which New York and America need to recognise for their effects on music and culture throughout the world.
