Amazing tour. Grand master caz and JDL provide a thorough explanation of the birth of hip hop. They were there from the beginning so they know. It is also a great black American cultural tour.

This was absolutley one of the best things that I have done thus far in life! I thought that I knew so much about Hip Hop, but learned so much more! Grandmaster Caz and JDL were like interactive textbooks! The information that they gave could not have been delivered any better than someone defending his/her dissertation. My hats are off to you gents for a duty well done! I APPLAUD YOUR EFFORT, HUMILTY AND MOST OF ALL , YOUR SINCERITY!!! I walked away from this tour with knowledge of: A brief history of the evolution of music, history of cinema, and a history of NYC period. Tour members of all ages will be entertained; believe me.........YOU THINK YOU KNOW; BUT YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!!!

While you're patiently waiting for the time machine to be invented, the Hip Hop Tour Led by Pioneers of Rap is the only way you can experience hip-hop history first hand! Being in NYC and not hopping on the Hush Tour bus is like going to Florence and not going to see the Uffizi! If you are a hip-hop fan, or are just curious, just DO NOT miss it!

I was a little hesitant at first to order tickets for the Hip Hop tour with Hush Tours; but they provided great directions and it was so easy to print up the tickets. The tour was awesome! I learned so much about Hip Hop, and love it even more now than ever. It is one of the greatest highlights of our first trip to New York from Hawaii. I highly recommend it!

your trip to NYC won't be complete without this!

I'd recommend this tour to literally everyone, your trip to NYC won't be complete without this! speaking from a hip hop enthusiast point of view, the "Birthplace of Hip Hop Tour - Harlem & The Bronx" organized by Hush Tours, is very enlightening. Without giving away the places visited on the tour, I have a decent knowledge of what they are already, but being on the tour and having the story told by the hip hop pioneer, for me is Grand Master Caz, makes this experience "one of a kind"! you could read all you want about the history of hip hop in books or online but getting a first-hand account on what actually happened is very different and much better. hip hop pioneer tour guides are very organized and take good care of the group. besides the guide, they hire another person to be with the tour and take care of all the miscellaneous things, which is thoughtful and much appreciated. as for value, the tour makes good use of the entire 4 hours, the process isn't rushed but very fulfilling. unlike some day tour in other countries, they are not pushy at all with selling souvenirs. at the end of the tour, they just simply let's you know what's available and that's it. I bought some rare CD for only $10 each, great value and can be autographed as well. this tour is also good for those whom isn't as enthusiastic as me, but still want to find out more about hip hop. the tour takes you to places where ordinary tourists wouldn't go, like parts of Harlem and South Bronx. While on my own, I think the busy streets of Harlem are safe but still not the Bronx, and the tour is a great opportunities to check out those remarkable neighborhood with a lot of peace in mind. Debra, founder of the tour, whom also greets every person on the tour at the starting point, is a great resource for finding out what's happening in NYC's hip hop scene. I joined a party celebrating Grand Master Caz's birthday on the weekend after the tour and Debra was very friendly and caring for me at the party. Most importantly, she treats other people with the same kind of sincerity and generosity, and none of those "New Yorker's cold and indifferent attitude" that I found at my expensive hotel. wai lam

Thoroughly enjoyed the tour! I heard good things from a friend who went on the same tour and read up the good reviews, but it turned out even better than I expected! There was good structure to the introduction and background to hip hop, injected with humour and enthusiasm. I liked all the elements of hip hop presented at a good pace throughout the trip, and to top it all off, a trip to an excellent soul food restaurant at the end of it! I would definitely recommend this tour to anybody who is interested in music or anyone who would like to know more about hip hop culture!

It was great to meet a legend Grandmaster Caz, he was very enthusiastic, entertaining and had a vast insight to the history of Hip Hop. It was good to visit places like Bronx and Harlem which as tourist you are generally put off visiting. This tour made you feel quite safe going to these areas and highlighted the transformation that has taken place. Time flew by on the tour and you felt like you wanted it to last longer. Our 9 year old daughter and 5 year old son really enjoyed it; their best part was wearing the bling and the kangol hats. Visiting Rucker Park & the Graffiti Hall Of Fame was of special interest to my husband. For my 19 year old nephew, the soul food at the restaurant was the highlight of the tour. Great value for money and would recommend it to anyone visiting NYC with an interest in Hip Hop. The Catford (London) Crew.

I was not very enthusiastic about my husband suggesting "Birthplace of Hip Hop" tour while we were in New York. I told him that I didn't even like rap music! How wrong I was! Thank you the Chief for starting the tour and Grandmaster Cassanova Fly for an entertaining look at Hip Hop origins and culture. I would recommond this tour to everyone, no matter your age. People of all ages can appreciate art in all forms. Thanks for a great afternoon.
