The Walk This Way Tour was good, worth the time if you've got an afternoon free (even if you're not into hip hop, if you are, do the long one) |

By walking, you see Harlem from the closest view, and get many information about the hood - and about hip hop - but not only. Very interesting and much fun! |

The best way to see Harlem is by doing a hip hop walking tour with a hip hop legend! Reggie Reg greeted everyone like we were old friends. His knowledge and enthusiasm was infectious and made the tour awesome! We got to see areas of Harlem that we wouldn't have seen without doing the tour. Highlights included Graffiti Wall of Fame, the Apollo Theater and enjoying lunch at Jacob's soul food restaurant with Reggie Reg at the end of the tour!

we were desperately looking for hip hop places and hip hop history. This tour provides it all, is great fun, and we learned a lot! Do not join if you do not speak English, however, since you will miss almost all of it. Thanks again for a great afternoon |

The Walk This Way Tour is basically a personal hangsesh with Reggie Reg, a hip-hop legend. He takes you around Harlem and points out points of interest, but really you are paying for Reggie to tell you amazing stories and make you laugh. He's awesome and a legend - during our tour, a number of locals from Harlem noticed him and started singing his old tracks. Highly recommend this tour. Great even if you don't know anything about hip-hop. |

We are 4 friends, not at all experts of hip hop, just interested, and we wanted to discover NY from another point of view. And that was the case. Our guide, Nelson is an amazing guy: as an active member of the community, he's got the passion of what he showed and explained us. He was always willing to answer any questions and make sure we understood.
Attention, the walk is a bit long, 2+ hours with sustained pace. Sometimes the neighbourhood is not that interesting, but it must be crossed to go from one place to another. Also you'd better have a correct English level, even if the guide makes great efforts to be understandable.
Anyway that's was a really good experience, and I recommend it to anyone who wants to go ahead from traditional tourist site seeing, and get a taste of the real NY by its people.
Thx again Nelson for this tour! |
