| I loved Reggie Reg's camaraderie with our group and with the neighborhood. Since he was from there, he knew everyone on the street and they respected our tour and we felt safe and welcome despite not being from "the hood". He showed us a good variety of both broader history and also hip hop history of the area, and it was nicely timed-not too long. Also, he was very engaging and personal and ate lunch with us afterwards! Great way to see NYC for those of us who hate being typical tourists... |

| On August 10th, 2010 I flew all the way out from Seattle, WA to take my mother on a tour of Harlem (walk This Way) to learn the real story about Hip Hop and how it started. My tour guide was JDL of the Cold Crush Brothers. I am a Hip Hop music producer and longtime Hip Hop junkie. I have read many books and watched many videos; however, JDL's tour is the most authentic, accurate, and knowledgeable representation of Hip Hop I have ever encountered in person. While, I knew a great deal of knowledge pertaining to Hip Hop, there is nothing like hearing one of the pioneers of Hip Hop tell the story the RIGHT way. JDL was extremly friendly, professional, and proivded excellent customer service. I did not feel like I was on a tour, I felt like I was spending time with a friend and just talking straight Hip Hop as we walked through Harlem viewing many historic landmarks. What takes JDL's presentation to the next level was the detailed stories he told about landmarks and the birth of Hip Hop. i can honestly say, you will never find these stories in a book or any form of media...and if you do, it will not be as accurate as JDL would explain. I was honored to spend time with JDL who I learned about as a young boy through watching the move Wild Style and listening to Cold Crush's music. It has only been one day and i wish I could relive the tour...this was an expereince, i will never forget and hope to share with all my friends. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING GOING ON THIS TOUR DONT CONSIDER ANYMORE...JUST DO IT! You will never expereince anything like this anywhere else in the world. I reccomend this to individuals, famlies, couples, and to everyone who is interested in Hip Hop. If you have questions please contact me, I would be happy to share my expereince in greater detail. JDL thank you so much for everything you have done over your career to open the door to the Hip Hop culture for all of us to expereince.
Thanks,

| We had an amazing tour! It was my birthday so as a special finale of the tour JD did a rap from one of his classic songs and crowned it up with a personal freestyle bit!! Warmly recommended for a different kind of a view of N.Y.

| Although it rained, we went into Harlem! Our guide, J.D.L.(a true Hiphop legend and a nice man) had provided us poncho's and umbrella's all for free.
First we checked out a movie in the New York City Museum, about the history of New York.
Then we went outside and really started our tour.
He told us about the 4 elements of Hiphop: Breakdancing, Graffiti, Mc'ing and DJ'ing.
In between he played very applicable music, which made it complete!
We were happilly suprised that Harlem isn't a ghetto anymore, instead of that, it is a very nice place to walk through with nice people. J.D.L. introduced us to well-known B-Boys (breakdancers) and MC's (or rappers) including Diamond D! He showed us legendary landmarks and we felt like one family. I'm the only one in this family who knows much about Hiphop but even my parents and my little brother were very excited!
After the hiphop tour we shopped in Harlem because we really liked that place, and it's not expensive!
We (as a family) really recommend you this tour! It's a tour full of surprises!

| My wife and I and 18 year old son (who is making a career in music production with an accent on Hip Hop) took the tour this past weekend. We thought is would be good but from the moment we met JDL we felt like part of the family and were greeted with such warmness and friendship. It was amazing to hear JDL speak of the times back in the early to mid seventies when Hip Hop was just starting. My wife and I grew up in England in that same era and we grew up with punk as it was just staring out so we remember the exciting times that a new music genre can inspire in a young generation. Punk was supplanting the old, heavy dinosaurs of Rock at that time and punk came to be a separate valid music form that has influence many musicians today. To hear the same passion that I feel for punk come from JDLs words and his unique perspective into the origins of Hip Hop (who knew Kraftwerk were responsible for influencing Hip Hops birth!?!?!?!?!) was truly mesmerizing and I feel a kinship to Hip Hop that I hadnt experienced before taking the tour. This is not some ordinary tour; this is life, real and simple and you feel truly in awe of being in some of the places where the music and poetry of the streets came to life.
TAKE THIS TOUR! You wont regret it. |

| I surprised my boyfriend for his birthday by taking him on this tour! It was amazing and he loved every minute of it. I decided to book the cheaper tour first. Now, we are eager to return to NYC from our hometown of Philly to take the bus tour on the weekend. We had some older individuals in our group that caused JDL to water down the tour a bit but it still was exciting. Can't wait to come back!!! |

| From the moment, I met JDL of the legendary cold crush brothers, i knew we would be in for a treat- he was friendly, funny and knowledgable about every aspect of Harlem and Hip Hop. I'm a die hard hip hop head, but still learnt a ton of stuff that you could never know if you didnt take the tour, likewise, it was accessible to anyone with a passing interest in Hip Hop, Harlem's history or the roots of modern black culture.
It rained heavily throughout the trip, but JDL kept the pace and the stories flowing, we barely even noticed the weather. I can't recommend the tour highly enough and want to thank one of Hip Hop's originators for taking time out to show me the roots of the music we love and one of the places that it was born.
