It was ok, not too bad but itwas just a little overview. I wouldn't recogment it to those who are already informed about Hip Hop history. In adition the tour should last longer in comparising to the price. Nevertheless the guide was nice.
All in all, ok but not overwhelming.

Tour was great. Got to see a different side to New York then museeums and the more wll known attractions. The tour is light and easy and conducted in an excellent manner. The guide explains in an easy and understandable manner the history of hip hop and its emerging styles and cultures. I have recommended this tour to all my friends and i am definitely going to do it again next time i visit New York |

Trip was nice, Reggie gave a good, short summary of Hip Hop history, and was very friendly and open for questions. We visited an exhibition in the Museum of the City of NY ans walked through Harlem, which was quite impressive. All in all I can recommend that tour, especially for those who are not familiar for Hip Hop culture at all and therefore want to have some insight. |

This was a great highlight of our trip to NYC. We live in Oakland, CA and have been waiting for years to go on a tour like this one. Our Guide, Rahim, was very informative, personable, knowledgeable, and friendly. We gained much insight into the origins of Hip Hop and of Harlem in general. We highly recommend this tour and we'll definitely do another one on our next visit! |

Hip Hop is a rich culture and social movement that has sprung from the streets of NY and exploded into a global phenomenon. Hip Hop is a positive movement that gave an identity and voice to those who previously had no voice in our culture. It's important to understand the history of Hip Hop and ALL the facets of Hip Hop, not just the commercial versions seen on TV or heard on the radio. Who better to learn from than one of the pioneering groups, Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five. Rahiem hosted our tour and he was amazing. I could have talked to him for hours. He has lived Hip Hop and seen it flower and change over the years. If you get Rahiem as your tour guide, LISTEN TO HIM, he has some really thought provoking ideas that I largely agreed with. He is a teacher who is willing to share more about the culture than just the sites on the tour. Take advantage of his time and learn as much as you can. As you walk through the streets of Harlem, use all your senses to take in the beauty and culture of this neighborhood. It's well worth the $25 ticket price...the best part of my 6 day trip. |

First, we were very happy that the Hushtour people found an alternate tour guide on the same day our guide was ill. Our alternate guide was Reggie Reg from the Crash Crew who experienced and knew everything about the early hip hop days and personally knew most of the other people who are the hip hop pioneers (as well as half the people we met on the street!). He was very kind to us, directed comments to all of us, asked us questions about what we already knew, etc. We walked from 106th street up to 125th street with the narrative going non stop about the chronology of hip hop events starting back in the 70's. When the tour was over, Reggie Reg helped us figure out our transportation back and personally escorted us there. My 18 year old daughter was loving it. Lots of opportunities for great pics too. Recommended highly. |
