What a fabulous and tasty tour! I have already recommended it to many people, not only for the tastings but also for the information given to us by a knowledgeable and friendly tour guide. And in planning my future days in NYC, I'll be sure to make a stop at any one of the wonderful chocolate shops we visited!

Delicious!

We enjoyed visiting the specialty chocolate shops (we probably would not have gone to otherwise). Burt, our guide, was knowledgeable, friendly and very accommodating.. Although Burt made suggestions at each shop, the choice of 2 selections was our own. That was my favorite part of the tour - each person was able to choose their own favorite flavors instead of being forced to sample another person's choices.

Lots of fun and yummy

This was a birthday surprise from my husband who is well aware that I am a serious chocoholic. It was a perfect way to celebrate, with a little exercise in between the tastings. Although we know quite a bit about good chocolate, we learned more and truly enjoyed all the tastings. I would recommend this tour for anyone who loves chocolate and/or interesting sweets. The length was just right, and the variety of shops we visited provided an insight into a section of Manhattan that we usually do not frequent.

We loved it!

There were eight of that did the tour together and we all totally enjoyed ourselves. The chocolates were wonderful and we certainly had enough to taste. There was enough time given to wander around the stores and purchase anything that you might want. Our tour guide was excellent and answered our questions and gave us lots of information regarding chocolates. Our tour guide also mentioned that you are thinking of doing a wine and dessert tour which is something that we all thought would be fun to do too. The only problem that we encountered was that the meeting place was not correct on our papers. All 15 people that went on the tour had the wrong information. In the future it would be better to make sure that the proper meeting place in correct. Thank you very much. We enjoyed it totally.

I went to the Luxury Tour and the New Cuisine Tour. Yes I am a choco-olic. They were different and both de-li-cious. We where lucky to have Bert as our guide for both of them. He is passionate, funny and he knows chocolate very well. We already know how chocolate was discovered , so he concentrated on what it tastes and the sensation it procures. What a pleasant way to discover New-York. We learn a lot, even if we have great "cholatiers" in Montreal.

My sister and I took the tour together. We found our guide, Bert, to be extremely knowledgeable about the chocolates and the places we visited. He was also very personable and enthusiastic. You could tell he loved what he was doing. The owners of the shops we stopped at were also very friendly. The chocolate samples (and we could make our own choices) were delicious. The next time we are in the City, we intend on taking one of their other tours.

This is such a fun way to spend an afternoon in Soho. We went to little known stores and trendy spots, too. Each chocolate recommendation was perfect and we ate so much that we had to take some samples home for later. We really appreciated learning how to truly taste chocolate! Our guide was entertaining and made everyone feel comfortable. What a great time!

Excellent - Fun - Informative

Our tour guide (Bert) was very informative regarding the different types of chocolate, where they were from and was happy to make suggestions. The choices for tasting sights was well rounded and gave a wide selection of different types of chocolate to try. My group enjoyed the tour and would highly recommend it for anyone like us, who Loves Chocolate.

My husband and I just took this tour as part of a 10th wedding anniversary weekend in NYC. It was so much fun. Burt, the tour guide, could not have been nicer or more accomodating, the chocolate shops were welcoming, and the chocolates were divine!! At one stop, the chocolates were chosen for us; we were able to choose our own pieces to taste at the other four. A very fun way to spend an afternoon, and a must do for any chocolate lover (and who isn't?).

Great Chocolate Tour

Our tour guide was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and personable. The vendors we visited were hospitable and the chocolate was delicious. After tasting really good chocolate everything else pales by comparison. There was a lot of walking, especially to the last vendor, which I chose not to go to because I use a cane. The weather was unseasonably hot and humid making the walking more difficult for me. I have already recommended the tour to my friends and family.

This was not exactly what I had in mind. My fault ... the leader was excellent, enthusiastic, and can be recommended to anyone. My husband and I did not feel compatible with the group .... perhaps another day we would have enjoyed it more.

A wonderful experience, well organized

They key to our appreciation of this event was tour guide Bert James, whose pleasant and informative manner helped heighten our enjoyment. One small quibble -- for the price, I think participants should get more than two pieces at each store -- 3 or 4 would seem more of an indulgence, and indulgences are what this tour's all about.

If you love chocolate, this tour is for you!

I am a chocolate addict and was so excited to learn about the Chocolate tour! While planning a day in the city for my mom's birthday, I decided out first stop had to be the tour. The chocolate that we sampled was absolutley delicious. It's a great opportunity to be adventurous or stick with what you know you will like. I'm usually not adventurous when selecting chocolate, however Burt, our tour guide, selected a truffle sprinkled with curry for us to taste. Although I was skeptical, I thoroughly enjoyed the taste. The walking isn't extensive, but by the time you arrive at your next destination you are ready for the next bite. There were 4 women in our group and all were 100% satisfied!!! I highly recommend this tour for anyone who enjoys chocolate!!! And here's a tip - if you plan the tour on a Sunday, you can still make a 3pm matinee.
