A Memorable Memorial Day Tour!
Sun, May 27, 07   12:00 PM GordonR Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
We can't recommend this tour enough! We found the New Cuisine Tour on-line and since we like to take in culinary events whenever we are visiting somewhere interesting we chose your Chocolate Walking Tour. We've been telling all our friends that it was the highlite of our NY experience! Bert, our guide, was great fun: personable and extremely knowledgable. Though it was very hot over the Memorial Day weekend we were able to zip into one of the many chocolate shops to cool down and sample their wonderful specialties. Bert's idea of providing "cold pak bags" was brilliant as it allowed us to buy gifts for all our friends without worrying about them melting during the tour or before getting them back to our hotel. Our teenage guest also loved this tour so Thank You NYChocoTours for a thoroughly enjoyable introduction to the Chocolate Paved Streets of New York!

This is a GREAT tour!

My 17 year old daughter and I enjoyed this tour on a COLD, WINDY nor'easter of a day in uptown Manhattan; we were the only two booked for the tour that day, and we had a blast!! Fabulous chocolate, incredibly educational and complete fun! All of the shops we visited (and, of course, sampled the good stuff in) were personable, and seemed genuinely happy to have us there. But the best part was our guide, Bert! He was a wealth of knowledge and we walked, talked and ate chocolate non-stop. He made the tour (which was already terrific) even better!! I would highly recommend this activity; when I next visit New York, you can bet I'll be booking the Soho chocolate tour -- and requesting Bert. Don't miss a great opportunity to eat sweet and learn a lot!

Carmen was a great Tour Guide. She was very knowledgeable and made sure the tour moved at a pace that everyone was comfortable with. Great side benefit - seeing Jacques Torres!

The tour was just the right amount of interesting facts and wonderful tasting. There is a moderate amount of walking so wear comfortable walking shoes.

My family very much enjoyed our chocolate tour in Soho! Our guide, Carmen, was informative and enjoyable. She knows her chocolate and now so does my family! Even my 11-year-old nephew had a great time! Our thanks to Carmen!

Cancelled Last Minute

They called me the day of my tour, 2hrs before the actual start time, to tell me it was cancelled. They won't give me a refund and I need to go through the actually company to reschedule. I would not recommend this tour.

Fabulous Experience

We had a wonderful tour. Carmen was our VERY knowledgeable guide on the tour. Her enthusiasm for everything chocolate definitely came through. Very personable and fun. We recently began chocolate making in Canada and were quite interested to see what was being done in New York. We came back with some great ideas and some thoughts for new recipe development. We would definitely recommend this tour. I would never have found the chocolatiers on my own. Thanks very much.

Had a fun time...

We enjoyed the overall experience. The all the stops had very good chocolates. And while the guide was very nice, I felt there could have been more information on each store in terms of the philosophies behind each shop and details about the various preparations and differences between the product.

The tour was fantastic! Our guide, Mehdi is a chocolatier so he is very knowledgeable about chocolate but also really relaxed, good personality and very friendly. The tour included 5 shops; 1 American, 1 Belgian, and 3 French in which each was better and better, with all located central to 5th Ave/Rockefeller Center. I didn't think I liked chocolate much at all and thought I would endure the tour (it was a birthday gift to my hubby) but ended up loving it! The different flavors at each place were unique from one to the next and it was fun to go to these places with my hubby on a cute date of sorts. Another plus is that it became a private tour since no one else booked on a Thursday! I def recommend!

Our guide was great. Knew all about the history of chocolate and the shops we went to. Had a few first experiences with chocolate. We're from NJ but rarely go to NYC. Our guide, told us about other places we could visit and eat at after our tour. He was super friendly and fun to hang out with. Unfortunately I can't remember his name, but I know he only does weekend tours. We hope to book another tour with him again.

Best gift for a chocolate lover!

I surprised my boyfriend with this tour and he could not have been more excited when he realized we were going to be eating chocolates all over SoHo. We visited 5 unique chocolatiers, tried their signature pieces and got to choose another piece to try. We had four different kinds of hot chocolate. The tour guide was fun and very knowledgeable and the shops were beautiful. It was a wonderful afternoon and completely worth the price. I will definitely be going back to these chocolatiers and probably be giving this experience as a gift to our friends in the future.

We live in nyc part time so we are in Greenwich and SoHo a lot. The tour showed us places we had walked by and missed. I plan to go back to some of them. I recommend the tour to anyone that has seen the regular tourist sights as a fun thing to do.
