The chocolate tour was superb, as well as delicious! Bert was very knowledgable about each individual chocolatier, as well as the process of making chocolate into its edible form. I would highly recommend this tour for chocolate lovers!

Chocolate lovers unite!

Being the chocoholic of the family, I didn't hesitate to book the chocolate tour in NYC! My family obliged in joining me. After our first stop at Saks 5th Avenue's chocolate cafe my kids were sold and commented that this is going to be the best tour ever! It's educational, fun and exceptionally sweet! We appreciated the pace of the tour as it allowed us to meet and talk to others. Bert guided us through our choices and we enjoyed his humor and love for chocolate! It was a great way to be introduced to the complexities of chocolate making and we loved trying selections we would never usually make! The tour has changed my children's idea of what great chocolate is and commented that the average chocolate bar just isn't going to cut it anymore! So parents, beware! This tour is going to give you the real thing and nothing compares to the best of the best when it comes to chocolate! Chocolate lovers from St. Albert, Alberta, Canada

The tour provided more than samples of heavenly chocolate. It included interesting information about the diversity and creativity of the chocolatiers, much of which I would not have known existed. Imagine a luscious tomato/basil chocolate! The enthusiasm and knowledge of our guide was an added bonus and I believed inspired a diverse group to have a great time together and ensure we will never look at chocolate quite the same way again.I can't think of anyone who is really into chocolate who wouldn't love this tour.

As native New Yorkers, our tour guide Bert helped us discover some wonderful places that we never knew existed. We were particularly impressed with his knowledge and input, but most of all with his warm and pleasant personality. We enjoyed the fact that the size of the group was small, so that everyone was able to get to know one another and bond. And the chocolates were absolutely ethereal!!!! Thanks so much for everything, and we would love to repeat this experience some time again in the future.

One of the highlights of our trip

This tour was fantastic. Our guide, Bert, was personable, funny, and had a tremendous base of knowledge about chocolate. The tour was kept at a leisurely pace and contained a huge amount of information and wonderful chocolate. We started at Saks Fifth Ave and went to five shops. We received 2 samples at each shop. If you want to do something "different" in New York - this is it!!

It was my first trip to New York filled with lots of other activities, but I must say that this was probably one of the highlights. Our tour guide was great and the shops that we got to visit felt like a part of New York that I would never have been able to experience in the same way on my own.

Our tour guide, Bert, did a wonderful job. He is very knowledgeable, and he wanted to be sure we had a fun, informative tour. We enjoyed the variety of familiar and unfamiliar chocolate tastes. We were amazed there were so many high-end gourmet chocolate stores, and each was interesting and unique. We are recommending Bert and the tour to our friends.

The tour was a ton of fun, a good Sunday outing in good weather or bad. Aside from being a bit overpriced, I highly recommend it for people of all ages.

I took my teenage daughter and her friends for the chocolate tour downtown and we had a great time, walking through the village and discovering the small chocolate shops that I have passed by but never paid much attention to. Our tour guide was informative and friendly

Absolutely TERRIFIC!

This was such a great experience. The tour guide (Burt) was very knowledgeable of the topic and was so very in tune with each of the our interests and needs. Burt made sure we all had a good time as well as that we learned from the experience as well. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who loves chocolates! You will learn a lot about chocolate AND get the chance to try some of the world's best chocolates. Never would I have had the chance to try these chocolates had I tried to find them on my own. I will say, though, that there was/is one draw back to having gone on this tour: Hersey just doesn't do it for me anymore. I am now a chocolate snob! Such a wonderful experience! Thanks Burt!

first, apologies for the very long delay in writing; this does not at all reflect ANY negative feelings about the tour. I am a born-and-bred New York who now lives in Israel and joined the tour on a recent visit to NY. The Friday tour I joined had about 6 people, as I recall, all women. The guide (can't recall his name now, apologies) was wonderful - very friendly, patient, enthusiastic and knowledgeable, and most important - a true chocoholic. Even tho I eat kosher, I found the data I received (and the chocolatiers we visited) sufficiently informative to know which items I could taste and which not - and I was able to enjoy samples in every store, so didn't feel 'left out' at all! The tour was one of the most fun parts of my visit to NY and even tho I lived there all my life till I moved to Israel, this introduced me to a fun and delicious part of NY I never would've been able to learn about or visit in such a coordinated, informative and delicious way! The price seemed a bit steep at first, but given the (generously) large number of samples we enjoy, and their retail cost, it really wasn't that painful an investment at all. Highly recommended!

Nice tour for chocolate lovers

We took a Sunday tour and had a nice time. As other individuals had cancelled, my wife and I were the only ones on the tour. We appreciated the fact that they did not cancel the tour on us and our guide gave us a private tour. She was excellent and very informative. We enjoyed the tastings. The one negative that we had was a lack of interaction with the staff or owner of the shops we visited. While our guide was great, it would have been nice to get another perspective on their business. The lack of communication with the shops staff resulted in the only drawback of being the only two people on the tour. Out tastings went very fast and tour did not last near as long as the described time on the brouchere. It would have been nice to spread out the chocolate tastings a little bit. We would have enjoyed the chocolate more.
