We enjoyed the tour greatly. Lindsey was an enthusiastic and knowledgable guide. Who knew there was so much to know about the chocolate you can buy in Manhattan? She explained the difference in each chocolate shop and answered everyone's questions. Pace was good, but if you can't walk long distances, probably not a good tour. |

Guide did not slow down much to make sure she wasn't losing anyone. In fact, lost her once and had to find her. Basically she told us what type of chocolate to choose from. Not too much in the way of interesting chocolate info. Only went to four places instead of five place....because one place was closed. Should be more organized that this....aren't there enough chocolate places to choose from to have a backup plan? I would rather have used the money for the tour to buy chocalate....I'm sure the people behind the counter can tell me about the selection. Would never, ever take this tour again!! |

Good tour. Our guide was friendly and very knowledgable. Probably won't do again because it was pricey. Walked alot and seemed a little quick at time. Guide knew LOTS. Maybe a little more conversation and not so technical, however she was extremely nice! |

My friend (a local) and I went on this tour probably on one of the hottest days of the year, but I'm so glad we did! It wasn't THAT much walking, and we never would have found these places on our own. My friend the local only knew about one of them. The samples were very generous (2 at each stop) and at a few of the stops, they snuck in one of their specialties as well, so you were pretty well chocolated out by the time you finished. I really learned a lot about chocolate, and it's already made me a much more informed consumer. I am finding myself seeking out the small, artisan chocolate places rather than going with the familiar and inferior. I've already recommended the tour to others, and am looking for a similar tour in my town (for future visitors). So glad I found this! I'll definitely be doing one of the other two tours next time I'm in town. |

I thoroughly enjoyed the NYC Luxury Chocolate Tour. Each stop seemed to have better chocolates than the last, and they were all delicious. Our tour guide was enthusiastic, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. She had interesting anecdotes about the individual stores and seemed to know a lot about the chocolates themselves. I saw that someone else wrote a poor review of our guide for, among other things, not knowing the City. I can only say, as someone who lived in New York for nine years, that walking through a packed Midtown Manhattan without losing one or two friends to the crowd can be difficult (and, thanks to a street fair, it was packed that day). Our guide did a great job of keeping our fairly large group intact as we navigated the crowded streets, at one point warning us to avoid impending hustlers outside of Rockefeller Center and coming to the rescue of three older women in our group who decided not to heed that warning. Overall, I had a great experience and would take another tour with this company. |

The tour guide was not knowledgeable about chocolate or New York City. She clearly lead us the wrong way after the meeting place and then said we were taking the scenic route as we walked past the store on the opposite side of the street. She was brief in her descriptions of the chocolates and there should have been opportunity to buy something at each store. Only in one store did an employee speak up and gave a detailed description about their chocolates, which was very welcomed. She did not mention of any of the NYC landmarks we were walking past, which would of added to the overall cohesiveness of the tour. At the bare minimum she should have said something like, "onthe way to the next shop we will walk past Grand Central Station." I realize that this was her first month, but she needs to be prepared with more information on her subject and her surroundings. |

The tour itself was wonderful! We did it as part of a bachelorette party - the bride was thrilled! The tour guide, while knowledgeable, made it clear she held tourists in low regards. Comments such as her preference for New Yorkers as she "did not have to worry about them crossing the street and getting lost while staring at buildings" is rather insulting to a group of well educated women that, while from "the middle" as our guide rather dismissively stated, have demonstrated the capability of crossing streets successfully for nearly 30 years. While none in my group appreciated the attitude we got, the tour is still worth putting up with the snarky comments and self aggrandizement. Just have some thick skin and do what we did - have a good laugh over the stereotypical New York attitude (the only time we experienced it, so an unfair stereotype in my book!). We now refer to ourselves as being from "the middle"! |
