Tasteful Tour

Our tour guide, Burt, knew a lot about the process of making chocolate, its history and culture, as well as how to really appreciate it. We visited five great chocolate shops, got to try two piece of chocolate from each shop and, at two shops, had very luxurious hot chocolate. Burt was very personable and helped us to enjoy our 2.5 hour experience. My wife and I definitely recommend this tour for anyone who wants to try upscale chocolate and even just to learn about the chocolate culture.

Took the gf for her bday - she loved it. I'm not much of a chocolate fan, but there were some delicious treats, interesting stops and leftovers to take home (tough to eat all the chocolate they provide). Our tour guide was great. I didn't love walking around midtown east in a group of nine people on a Saturday though. Certainly worth it otherwise.

Absolutely amazing!!!!!! Bert is the best tour guide in the world. Ask him about the toilet in the Chrysler building. One piece of advice, bring something to drink to wash down all the chocolate.

Something New for New Yorkers

Wanted to do something a little different for my boyfriend's birthday present, something we could enjoy together. Such a great afternoon. Our tour leader was friendly, knowledgeable, and surprisingly honest. (He told us why certain chocolates were his favorite, why some were just not up to par, and why others deserved to be spit out.) Not only did he know the history of the stores we visited, he also answered our questions regarding chocolate and its production. But nerdy stuff aside, it was fun and delicious, and we now know a few gems we probably wouldn't have found otherwise. WARNING: Do not eat for at least two hours prior to the tour. You must leave room for all these amazing treats. And remember to take risks. Sometimes the weird ones are the tastiest.

Bert, our tour guide, was very knowledgable, professional, and polite. He made the tour a lot of fun. We had a small group which was a plus. All of the stops on the tour had excellent chocolate. Well worth the time and money!

This is a great way to spend a few hours in Manhattan, and the quality of chocolate sampled is superb. The only drawback is that with all the official samplings and a few extras thrown in you will be eating the equivalent of sixteen truffles in three hours. Pace yourself and plan on no further food that day, maybe even the next! The tour guide I had was top notch! Ken

The tour was excellent. I enjoyed learning about the different types of chocolate and methods of preparing the chocolate from start to finish. Burt was wonderful and personable! He was enthusiasic and knowledgeable. We were fortunate to have a private tour as we were the only group schedule for that particular day. It was a fun event.

I set the tour up for my wife who LOVES chocolate ... I think I ended up enjoying the tour as much as she did. It was good learning where some of the top chocolateers in the city are, not to mention tasting some great chocolates. Tour guide was very nice and informative.

Two years ago, I took my 12th grade daughter to the mid-town luxury choc tour and we loved learning so much about something so few really know about - the joys of real chocolate. Just last week, i took my younger daughter, now in 10th grade on the SoHo tour. The tour guide is highly professional and quite knowledgeable, and we were taken to some really incredible places we'd never have gone if on our own. The guide knew the people at each spot and was able to describe virtually every kind of chocolate and its taste which helped all of us pick those we liked most. This is a real, professional tour by a skilled and knowledgeable operator who has a well-honed passion for the best in chocolate. It is a memorable experience.

I wasn't sure what to expect when we arrived on the tour but our guide, Burt, quickly put us at ease. He is a fun person & has a passion for chocolate & how it's made. He made the tour fun, interesting and encouraged interaction among the guests on the tour. I also appreciated the fact that even though we were going to some of the priciest chocolate shops in the city, he kept the tone of the tour down to earth and casual. We really enjoyed ourselves and will recommend the tour to our friends.
