| Having read a review in our local Brisbane paper about the tour, we decided to give it a try. Marc was very welcoming and gave us a great tour around. We would thoroughly recommend this tour as it allowed us to be photogrraphed together is some great locations as well as give us an orientation tour. Marc showed us how to use the subway so that gave us the confidence to use it later. Marc is very proud of his city and transferred that enthusiaism to us. | Having never been to New York and going as a couple we really appreciated the background and knowledge our photographer gave us, we travelled the subway which we would not have done alone and saw many things we would never have otherwise encountered. Our guide `Marc' was friendly and informative, our photographs delivered to the hotel the next day as promised. All in all a highly recommended service and a wonderful souvenir of a wonderful break in a wonderful city ! Thanks very much. Mike and Sarah. | ||||||

| Marc was a great tour guide and revised the tour to fit our needs. We booked ours on the last day there and had our pictures by 4:45 that day and they were really good. My only suggestion is to book him your first full day there rather than the last but book early because he does sell out. | ||||||

| My wife and I have never been to NYC and went for a long weekend. I like to plan out everything in advance, being completely unfamiliar with the NYC area, the subways, the cabs, etc., I realized I was in for a huge undertaking. So much to do, so much to see, - where do you start? My wife and I are road warriors, but having to learn where to go, what to do, how to get there, looked like a week's worth of planning. We personally hate group tours - we find them impersonal and you are with a group of strangers that often move at a very different pace. We like bus tours even less because it's hard to get your bearings when you are riding and someone else is doing the driving. So I went on the web, stumbled onto PhotoTrek Walking Tours. Seemed like a great idea - a Native New Yorker who would take us on a PERSONAL TOUR and is a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER who snaps pictures of us with the NYC backdrop! (like many couples. my wife and I have precious few pics of us together when traveling). We timed our 4 hour “Best of NY” Tour for the very first morning in NYC so we could enjoy the rest of our trip. So with very few plans pre-arranged, we took a huge leap of faith, counting on this tour to guide our trip. Long story short...this was the best decision we have made in years! Our tour guide, Marc Samuels showed up right on time and met us in the lobby of our Hotel (Westin Times Square) at 8:30AM sharp (as confirmed in a personal email to us prior to going). From there, we covered all of Manhattan like a blanket! This was done at our pace (which we are in shape an move pretty fast) - an absolute whirlwind tour of NYC! ..Times Square, Rockefeller Ctr, Trump Towers, Central Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, 5th Avenue, Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station (ask about the whispering wall!), SoHo, Tribeca, Chelsea, Bleecker St, etc. etc. Marc narrates the tour the entire time, patiently asking all of your questions, but then says..."I would like you two to stand here...face this direction.." and snap! snap!..We felt like fashion models touring New York! Marc has an in depth knowledge of New York that has to put him at the top of all tour guides in NYC. When we were done with our tour, we knew exactly how to purchase subway tickets, what trains to get on and off, where to go, etc. NYC can be an intimidating place...after the tour, we were VERY comfortable going everywhere we wanted to go at any time! I can now converse with any New Yorker and know exactly the area! RATINGS: Tour Alone - 5+ stars VALUE: 5+ Stars (Very reasonable price...you try to hire a photgrapher in NYC for 4 hours PLUS get a 4 hour tour of NYC to boot!) . BONUS: 5+ Stars (200+ incredible high qual professional pics delivered to our Hotel next day on CD!) Request Marc Samuels (AWESOME). KNOWS NYC and KNOWS PHOTOGRAPHY! | Would highly recommend this walking tour as an eye opener to New York. We did the 3 hour tour which enabled us to cover a lot of ground. Marc was very friendly and informative and we will be heading back to a lot of the places we visited for a better look. The photos are amazing - Marc knows exactly where to position you to get the best shot - and were delivered the following day. This is our first trip to New York, and this tour has really helped us focus on where we want to spend our time. | ||||||

| The photographer was professional, courteous, knowlegable and FUN! We got to pick what we wanted to see. We got some brief background histories on the places we visited; just enough to remember. Most importantly, we have GOOD pictures of us TOGETHER! | ||||||

| We recently decided to elope to New York and needed someone to take the photos. Marc understood exactly what we wanted and took amazing photos of both the wedding and of our tour of Manhattan afterwards. His formidable local knowledge and helpful attitude meant that our wedding day ended up being even more amazing than we could have ever imagined. He even booked a restaurant for us for that evening which turned out to be spectacular!! | This was our first trip to New York, we had booked a 7 day stay and wanted to make the best use of our time there. As a mother and son family we had almost no photos of the two of us together, so when I came across Marc's photo tour of New York on the internet it seemed the ideal solution for us. The other things that appealed to us were, Marc being a Native New Yorker, the tour being walking and subway, (rather than a bus) and a degree of personalization. My 12 year old son Damie is an avid Spiderman fan and wanted to see some of the famous landmarks from the films. Marc arrived early and let us know he was in the lobby of our hotel (another plus point, being collected). We met a well-turned out and extremely personable Marc, who immediately went through the Spiderman locations he could build into the tour - we had opted for the 4 hour one. He also checked the New York landmarks we were most interested in e.g. Central Park as opposed to the Financial District, in our case. This enabled him to decide how much time and focus to place on each location. Neither my son or I are naturals when it comes to being photographed, but Marc's expertise and quickness with his camera meant that we never had to pose or hold a smile for more than a few seconds. As a result we now have a disc of 200 professional photographs which Marc delivered to our hotel the following day. I know my son wouldn't have been willing to be photographed like this if I was holding the camera. Marc was also very sensitive to my son's sensory difficulties, when Damie found Times Square a bit too much for him, Marc moved quickly on, but still managed to get some shots here. He was very open and easy to talk to and we both enjoyed our time with him. At the end of the tour my son and I really felt confident about exploring New York over the rest of the week on our own, including using the subways, which Marc gave us a lesson in. We also felt we had received a comprehensive view of the city, visiting places we may not have got round to ourselves. With the portfolio of photos to take home from Marc's tour, we were able to spend the rest of our week in New York sans camera doing our own thing, including revisiting some of the places Marc had shown us. This tour is unique and real value for money - I would recommend it to anyone visiting New York. | ||||||

| This was our first trip to New York City and meeting Marc on our first day was the best thing we could've done. It was awesome having him with us to tour us around and teach us how to venture around NY on our own. We really appreciated the Subway lesson, it came in handy later in our trip. | My husband and I decided to take a private walking tour with Mark during the Christmas holiday. WHAT A BLAST!!!! Mark had main sights that he led us to, but he also allowed us to customize the tour so we would see everything we wanted within 2 hours. We were able to get pictures of us as a couple instead of separate shots since Mark was taking all of the pictures. We will have memories of us together in NYC for years to come. Mark is also very prompt. We received our photos on disc which Mark delivered to our hotel the same day. I would totally recommend this tour to anyone...even if you are a native New Yorker or just visiting. THANKS MARK!!!!!! | ||||||

| I took this tour with my daughter. We had so much fun. Since this was our first time to New York it was great being with someone that knows the city. We love the pictures. He definitely knows the best spots for pictures. (The Brooklyn Bridge is awsome!) Only wish we had done this our first day instead of the last since he explained the subway system to us. Put on your walking shoes and prepare to get lots of great photographs. | ||||||

| It was AMAZING!! A group of 4 girls did this for my sisters bachelorette. I brought funny sunglasses and fake teeth, hats and wigs - so we could dress up and really let loose. Marc was pretty awesome and a really great guy - and the perfect guide. We were laughing so hard our stomachs hurt afterwards. Highly recommend this for families, couples, friends, and for outtings like a bachelorette - birthdays - whatever! It's a must do in NYC. I grew up right outside of NYC, and we had never seen the city like that - it was AMAZING and we all had a blast. Best photos ever! | ||||||
