Great Insider View of NYC

Mark was great. He was very knowledgable about New York and delivered exactly what was promised, a tour that showed us the Best of New York City. The CD full of pictures was delivered to our hotel the same day and we can't wait to go and print them out! Wear comfy shoes. We did the 4 hour tour and it was definitely worth the money!

ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR

This was the favorite part of our trip to NYC! Marc was fantastic! I went with my 16 year old daughter and her friend and I saw sights I had never seen before in New York. Marc taught us how to use the subway and feel totally safe in the big city. He gave us sooo many tips and is worth every penny on just his tour guide! The fact that we have unbelievable pictures and memories forever is just icing on the cake! Thank you for a great experience in NYC!

Great for couples

The tour was an excellent way to capture the hotspots of New York when you're traveling with a significant other. We would never have been able to bother passerbys to take this many photos of us, and quality of these photos were top notch. We were able to get 100+ photos in 5 locations over the course of the two hour tour. Definitely a great experience!

Great way to get great "tour" pictures

I enjoyed my personal photo tour with Marc, who tried his best to squeeze in as many different shots of me in various locations in Manhattan as possible as I had a very packed day of activities following that and could not spend more than 2 and a half hours with him. Good way for single travellers to get good photos of themselves "on location" ! You also get all your photos in a CD the very same day after the tour, which is very efficient & convenient as it was my last day in NY. Thanks, Marc !

A DEFINITE FOR A FIRST TIME VISIT TO NEW YORK
Fri, Dec 12, 08   8:00 AM julie1959 Female 40-49 International Tourist(s) Group of Friends
My friend and I were first time visitors to New York and although we had worked out a vague itinery we were not really sure of distance and time. We had worked out our itinery on foot as we had heard that traffic etc (taxis and buses) would be time consuming and we were nervous about using the subway. However one tour with Marc and we were hopping on and off the subway without a care in the world and reaching our destinations quickly and with ease. After 5 days we felt like true New Yorkers! During our 3 hour walking tour with Marc we certainly covered a lot of areas and visited places that we would not have seen had we not gone on this tour. My friend and I would definitely recommend this tour for a first time New Yorker!

Absolutely Outstanding!!!!!

An absolutely outstanding tour that we would highly recommend! Matt and I were staying in New york for a fortnight with a 5 day trip to Boston in the middle of it. We had our tour on day three and from the first minute of meeting Mark we both felt so comfortable and at ease with him. We asked Mark to chose where he took us, as we said to him " you're the boss and you know the best places" We visited Times Square, Central Park, went on the subway, Brooklyn Bridge, soho and Greenwich. It was awsome! We felt so relaxed and so famous!!! We could see people looking at us and thinking "who are they" it was just so much fun! Mark dropped our cd of 113 photo's off at our hotel later that afternoon and they were stunning. The close-ups of us against the stunning New York backgrounds are fabulous and to have so many photo's of the two of us is wonderful. To give you an idea of how amazing this tour was.........we went straight back and booked another one for the day before we came home! The second tour was as amazing as the first one, maybe even better because we felt even more at ease with Mark, he had become more of a friend by this point. We had our own ideas this time and Mark was quite happy to fall in with them and also to make a few suggestions of his own. We went to Grand Central Terminal, (ask him about the whispering wall!) Bryant Park, Ground Zero, The South Street Seaport and others that I just can't remember at this point. Please, if you have the chance to do this tour then do it!!! You will feel a million dollars, you will have awesome photo's of ALL people in your group, you'll get a private tour of New York by a native New Yorker and you'll get to make a damn good friend too!!! What more could you ask for?? Mark, if you're reading this............................Told you I'd write you a good one didn't I! Thanks for everything, the photo's are absolutely stunning and we love them! See you again one day! Julie and Matt from Wales

Tour of A Lifetime
Wed, Dec 20, 06   8:30 AM jqvfjc3 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Mark made every effort to ensure our trip was fun and informative. We travel domestically pretty frequently, and like most husband and wife trevelers we return home with pictures of each other, but rarely with pictures of us together. With Mark that was not the case on this visit to New York City. We have pictures from locations, and angles that only a native would know about. Mark shaped the tour to meet our personal requests, wants and needs. We decided on the 4 hour tour and highly recommend it in order to see everything possible. After touring with Mark we felt like we were much more capable of geting around the city on our own.

Christmas in New York
Tue, Dec 26, 06   8:30 AM JoSaye Female 20-29 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
The photo tour was a unique experience that enabled us to see parts of New York that we would probably have missed. Even though the weather was miserable the photo's were excellent and it was lovely to have a set of photos of all the places we visited (with both of us in them!!!) We were only in New York for a short visit, however the tour made us a feel like we didn't miss anything New York had to offer. I would thoroughly reccommend the tour and hopefully they'll spread to other parts of america and we will definately use them again!!!! Many Thanks

The tour with Phototrek was fantastic!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! Marc with Phototrek Tours effortlessly guides you through the city to the major sites and takes multiple pictures at each site. You don't have to worry about asking a passerby to take a picture for you, and ultimately end up with an off-center picture or a thumb over the lens. Or even worse, end up with no camera at all! A 2-hour tour is sufficient enough to see the major spots (this is what we did), but be ready to move! Marc will make sure to get you to multiple destinations, but it goes at a quick pace. But this should only speak volumes about Marc's tour -- he wants to make sure you get your money's worth. I proposed to my girlfriend on the tour, and Marc helped effectively ease all my fears before hand. Of course, being such a momentous occasion, I wanted everything to go perfect. After a short conversation with me and what I wanted to do, Marc knew exactly the perfect spot. I left everything else up to him, and he did a wonderful job! I can say that not only will we have wonderful actual engagement pictures for the rest of our lives, but also a great story and memories to go along with it. Marc also helped us conquer the subway system (which is momentous for a couple of people that have never ridden a subway before) as well as recommended one of the best pizza joints in Little Italy. I encourage anyone who is thinking of booking his/her tour to do it in your first few days of your trip, so you can have the full knowledge of the city and the subways like we did. That, and you can have most of your picture taking out of the way too! The one bit of advice I can provide is to not be afraid to ask questions about things (like buildings or history) or as well as taking certain photo shots. Marc will inform you about things along the way, but don't expect a "museum" tour (i.e. a lengthy description of every single thing in New York)-- however, when we did ask about anything, he almost instantly had an answer for it. Also, Marc will have many great pose ideas as well as backgrounds, but if you see something you'd like to do, don't be shy to ask because otherwise the tour will move on without you. All in all, the experience was great and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially those who love to have lasting memories and like to smile for a camera. And if you're thinking of popping the big question, take it from me -- Marc will make sure the moment is extra special.

The High Point of Our Week in NYC!!!
Thu, Aug 6  10:00 AM jonellen Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
What an awesome way to see a lot of New York in a short amount of time, and to have your own personal, professional photographer (who was a great tour guide, with lots of little tidbits of helpful, interesting NYC information) take pictures of you while guiding you through Times Square, Central Park, Grand Central Station, the Brooklyn Bridge and SoHo/The Village, well, we can't say enough awesome things about Marc and his tours. It really was the high point of our week in NYC and the photos captured our trip perfectly. We will definitely use the pics for our annual Holiday cards! Hopefully, it will result in referrals for Marc!

Fantastic tour & pictures!

I would recommend this to anyone visiting New York, particularly if it's their first time. It was mine & my boyfriends first time visiting the city and the tour was brilliant for us to be shown the sights by a true New Yorker! Although the tour was fantastic, what is really special are the photographs; we now have loads of beautiful pictures that we will treasure for many years and they are of both us together. We found Mark to be great company and a brilliant tour guide; he was helpful and friendly. I loved the tour and the photographs...highly recommend to everyone! Thanks! Jo, Nottingham, UK

Put on your walking shoes and be ready to smile
Sat, May 16  3:15 PM johnson0314 Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This is a fast-paced energetic tour of the city- although I'm sure Marc would slow the pace if that is your desire- by a real New Yorker. I was amazed at the amount of ground covered in such a short period of time. Word of warning: keep smiling! Marc does a spectacular job at keeping your party as the main focus of the pictures and to do this in the middle of Manhattan he must be quick with the shutter. In other words, minimal time is spent being situated into a pose- so be ready to smile. I was happy that during any time waiting for or being on a subway he showed us the shots he had taken so far, so when I got the disc (the next day) there were no surprises. I thouroughly enjoyed our 2 hours, which seemed like half that. Our pictures-more than 80 of them- turned out great. He took several quick shots at each location, so you will be able to choose the best one. Yes, there were several where either my husband or I was not smiling, eyes closed, or otherwise just goofy looking- but that aside, I still had to narrow down the pictures I wanted to print. I think anyone who wants some great pictures of themselves in New York should book this tour!

19June Session 4-6PM
Thu, Jun 18  11:45 AM johnc24 Male 20-29 International Tourist(s) Other
I don't know who gets to see this review but like everyone says marc is an enthusiastic individual, who gets you in the know of things such as getting around the metro and such. On our day of booking, the weather was raining all day but we managed to get a 2hour session from 4pm -6pm. We went around a lot of places such as times square, brooklyn bridge, central park and soho. It was very fast paced whether thats marc's nature or the rain I dont know but it was very fast and as such unfortunately I must mention that in a number of our photos we barely had a moment to pose and the shot was taken, that didn't bother me that much but what did bother me was a good proportion of shots were for some reason out of focus. Me and my wife were the subjects obviously and on a quite a good few we are out of focus or slightly blurry which was disappointing. My recommendation is to slow down and make sure you get the shot, I mean not perfection but at least in focus photos for the money paid. John C

Best way to tour NY!!!

We were extremely pleased with Mark. He showed us around the city and captured beautiful moments at different NY sites. We will definitely do this tour again with more people! We were engaged the night before the tour and he was able to capture all the excitement of the weekend. Mark was so knowledgeable about the "REAL" NY and made us appreciate the other spots in Manhattan, i.e. Soho, Greenwich Village, Little Italy, etc. He showed us how to use the Subway and even recommended a couple of areas in the city to party at! That nite we went out til 4 AM listening to a live band play everything from Funk to Rock. IT WAS AWESOME!!!!! If you want a real tour of NY, this is it!!!!!
