We loved Mark - this was a great tour. The pictures are wonderful. Mark really knows and loves New York. He worked with our group on his day off - thank you. I would recommend Mark to any group. We had a wonderful time. The only change I would do - is to book the longer tour - the 2 hours just wizzed by. BTW - we all liked the subway ride. Thanks

Everybody Should Try this!

Marc is a very genuine and personable guy. The tour is informative and his insights/tips etc as a native New Yorker we found invaluable. Even very simple things like how to work the sub way ticketing system and navigating around from there. You can tailor the tour to your exact requirements or rely on Marc's descretion, either way your going to be well informed. We had the 3 hour tour and the ground you cover walking and on the sub way is amazing. We recommend doing this tour shortly after arrival as an ideal way to get a very personal orientation of this magnificent City. The pictures are amazing and there's plenty of them. It is also amusing to see the looks on peoples faces as you have the pictures taken, you feel like a VIP they think you are a VIP........... well hey for 3 hours we were!! Me and my husband totally enyoyed this tour.....it was fantastic. Not only do you get a look around the city from an insider who can tell you things a book or map can't.......you also get your magical moments captured on film. From a couples point of view, most of our pictures was me here, Dave there but with this all the photos are of you together, enjoying the experience!!! If you fancy a tour thats a bit different and that is no-where else in the world then this is the tour for you!! Have fun, let us know your thoughts :-) Danielle x

THE MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE
Tue, Sep 30, 08   11:30 AM danic2004 Female 20-29 International Tourist(s) Other
We are so happy we decided to book with Phototrek tours, we have been overseas before and always got too carried away to worry about taking photos of each other. The hard thing about travelling as a couple is never getting photos that you are both in, now we have the most memorable photos that we can't stop looking at even 6 months down the track. Marc was a lot of fun, he worked so fast that we were able to have photos taken in so many locations. We went on the tour the second day we were in New York which was great as he showed us how to navigate the subway and made us feel comfortable with the city. He gave us great tips on where to eat, where to shop and where to buy cheap tickets. It is honestly the best thing we did while we were in NY and we would love to do it again if we get the chance to go back, we felt like celebrities as Marc would flash away as we were walking down the street. We couldn't think of a better way to view New York then with your very own personal tour guide and the fact that he is your personal photographer makes the experience so much more worthwhile. Put this at the top of your list of things to do in New York. Dan & Nicole, Australia

We were excited to take this tour when we first read about it - the actual experience far surpassed our expectations. I loved the experience. The historical commentary was interesting and being photographed in so many interesting places was exciting. We now have great pictures of ourselves in NY during a magical time of year. I highly recommend the Best of New York - Personal Photo Tour!

We could not have been any happier with our wonderful photographer Marc! He was very nice, personable, patient, and very knowledgable of central park. We were renewing our wedding vows after 15 years of marriage and wanted photos to remember how wonderful it was. Our photos turned out so beautiful! Everyone has raved at how incredible and breath taking they are. I made a perfect decision in choosing Phototrek tours and MARC!!

Great opportunity to learn about the city. I have not recieved our photo's yet, but we had a great time with Mark. He was very professional and took tons of photos. We did this tour last, I would reccomend doing it first because Mark has great insight on NYC. Good info on subway usage and areas to visit. This tour comes highly recommended!

loved the tour specially because we were on our honeymoon and got lots of pictures together. My husband that doesn't speak fluent english understood everything Marc (tour guide) told us. Also got lots of tips of where to go on our own afterwards and how to use the subway which was veeery usefull. Super recommended!

Wonderful experience

This was a wonderful activity to do with our daughter. We got some great professional quality shots with beautiful NYC backgrounds. Mark was game for hiking in the snow to get the shots re quested of other Central Park landmarks that were not on the "scheduled" list. As a scrapbooker, the photos are great! Everyone loves the pictures and many have asked how many strangers we got to take our picture. We did the 2hr tour and ended up with over 200 pictures. These were delivered to our room before returning from dinner the same night. Well work the cost and time. Thank you so much Mark! Beckie, Mike, & Clarice Hampton, VA

Flexible tour that meets YOUR needs
Wed, Nov 12, 08   2:15 PM croosenraad Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Dunno about you, but every time we go somewhere, we end up with lots of shots of the somewhere, but very few shots of us. This unique tour changed that, and we couldn't be happier. I hate to be one of those reviewers who gushes about a purchase, but we were completely satisfied with our recent tour of NYC by PhotoTrek. Highlights: Knowledge: "OK, when this light changes, we'll have 2 minutes to go out into the middle of Broadway to get the photo." Sure enough, light goes red, traffic disappears, and <click>, we've got a shot of us like no other. Flexible: We were meeting friends from the city for dinner, and they ended up heading to our hotel earlier than we planned. The tour was quickly re-arranged, and we ended in Soho instead of at the Bridge. Closer to the hotel, faster to get back. Fast: We left town before we could get the photos in our hands, but 2 days after we got home, a CD showed up in the mail with all the shots. Now we have to figure out how to narrow down our favorites. Lowlights: none, really. Highly recommend.

Marc was brilliant and so friendly. He showed us around his NewYork and tailored it to our expectations. His photos really captured the fun and excitment that comes with visiting new york. Marc knew all the best locations and explained the subway and so much about New York to us.We visited areas we would never have found by ourselves and feel we discovered the real new york. The photos are brilliant and Marc got the disc to us by 8am the next day. We can't recommend it enough. It will be the best part of your trip to New York. The photos in Central Park and on the Brooklyn Bridge are amazing and he also took us to Carrie's Brownstone stoop!! book now and you won't be disappointed.

The best essential holiday pictures.

Although the cost at first may seem daunting. This is well worth the plunge!! As I was recovering from illness at the time, our guide offered to slow the pace, which I thought was nice. So this trip also offered good catch up time from the two days I had to spend in bed 'dying' and offered to give us the photo experience that showed where we had been. The trip is flexible to your taste's and where you want to see, which I think is a nice touch, whether its your first time to New York City or not. The overall pictures are great, good range and quality, and offers a chance to get pictures you wouldn't normally think of or be bothered to take. Plus it saves you having to take your camera out. Our guide also had a lot of knowledge, so is fantastic for finding out all those little bits, so so you need to think that the price is not just having someone taking your pictures, its getting other city tips, and learning other bits of history. So in all, I thoroughly reccomend this activity, and think of it as not an expense, but an investment into a good time, and memories :)

We got married in New York and used Marc as our wedding photographer - an amazing little tour to some of the best spots in town (we went to the Brooklyn Bridge, Times Square, Grand Central Station and Central Park). We had a great day, and had 500 really good quality photos delivered on CD to our hotel the next morning. The photographer Marc was knowledgeable, a great guide, and clearly loved his native city. Highly recommended.

The Personal Photo Tour was one of the best tours that we booked during our stay in New York. Our photographer was very informative and kept us going at a quick pace. We were able to see many different sights of New York plus get some wonderful photo's. We did the photo tour on our first day so that we were able to go back if we wanted to, to see things for longer if we wanted. I would HIGHLY reccommend that people get these tours done.
