| The guide was extremely friendly, knowledgable and enthusiastic about the area. All of these things made the sightseeing much more enjoyable. The fact that he also memorialized the trip with photos will give us a chance to relive our entire trip to New York. I would recommend this tour above all other things I did in New York. The broadway shows were great but the memories will fade with time. This tour will not because of the many photos we have. | ||||||

| This is a great idea to start your holiday, as you see the major areas of New York city. Mark is helpful and guides you well, we were a bit unsure of the subway but he just took us on and showed us how wrong we were. The pictures are fantastic and well worth the time and effort the guide puts in. The best idea I think is to book the guide at the begginning to give you a running start. Having a native NY resident who will answer your questions no matter how stupid really helps you enjoy the city more than you would have thought. | ||||||

| This was bar far one of the best investments we made for our trip to the "Big Apple". This tour not only showed us the city and capture the moments on film, but helped us get a better understanding of how to navigate around town. Had we not taken this tour the first day we were there I can see that we would have been completely lost and may have ended up somewhere we didn't care to be. We will be using this service again on each visit till we have seen the whole city. Thanks, Brad and Dina Bruckner Dallas, TX | ||||||

| Like everyone who goes on holiday , my wife and i wanted great photo's of our trip to the world's greatest city and marc did that for us. Within ten minutes of reading the reviews on the web we had booked ourselves a 2 hour stroll for our first morning in NY and i can't stress how happy we are we did . We met Marc first thing and told him we wanted to see Central Park , Times Sq and Brooklyn Bridge , he showed us those places and much more along the way including 5th Av , LIttle Italy , Greenwich Village , Chinatown and so on . Not only did we learn a lot about NY from Marc but he showed us lots of handy tips like riding the subway and good places to eat and drink around the city , this is one of the reasons you should book your tour as early as possible into your trip as you get a good feel for where everything is and how long it takes to get around .Marc himself is very friendly and easy to talk to and puts you at ease right away if your worried about getting your photo taken in front of people as you are walking around , in fact after a while we felt like celebrities as people take a second glance at you wandering why your having your picture taken [ all part of the fun ].Unfortunately we are back home now but at least we have a fantastic photo album full of amazing pictures together and lots of great memories. Our friends have all seen them and some who are going to NY in November plan to book with Marc so i can't give anymore recommendation than that , other than when we return we will without doubt book another tour and see many of the other sites we didn't see first time around ! Cheers Marc. Ps If Marc finishes your tour down at the cafe in Greenwich Village on Bleecker St try a real lemonade , the best there is !! | ||||||

| We booked this at the last minute and we were so glad that we found it. We spent 2 memorable hours with Marc who is very knowledgable and enthusiatic about his home town. We got pictures of ourselves that we would never have otherwise been able to get, in locations that we might not have visited without Marc's guidance. The photos were great and the disc arrived at our hotel within 24 hours. Very impressed with the service. Although it had been raining, Marc had a 'plan B' so that we would not miss out, however we did not need this as the weather held. We would not hesitate to recommend this tour to anybody visiting NYC and we would definately consider taking another one of Marc's tours. We loved every minute of it !! | ||||||

| If you are traveling to NYC I would recommend this tour as not only a great way to get your bearings in the city but also as a way to create memories of your trip. The tour guide is friendly, knowledgeable and informative and the pictures that are taken are of excellent quality. If like me and my other half you are going as a couple the tour is for you it removes the having to ask random strangers to take your photo and risk them legging it with your gear. All in all the experience is very positive and you will have something to remember your trip for ever. Kevin & Sharon | ||||||

| My wife and I took the three-hour tour because this was our first time to Manhattan and we wanted to get a feel for the entire city. We scheduled our PhotoTrek tour to start 30 minutes after arriving in town and immediately hit the streets to take photos. Our tour covered a lot of ground and the photographs turned out incredible. In fact, I would probably do it again if I ever went to New York, just to get more photographs. We have photos of Grand Central Station, Times Square, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge, Little Italy, Chinatown, the inside of a subway car. At first, we were completely confused with the subway system, but after our photo tour, we were riding the subways like the locals. If I had taken the photos myself, they wouldn't have had both my wife and I in the same photo, so it was great to have someone else snapping the pictures while we walked around and toured the city. At times it felt like we had paparazi following us around. Make sure you bring some good walking shoes because you will be moving the whole time. I wish I would have brought a few different shirts to provide some variety in the photos so that they all don't look like they were shot on the same day. I would leave purses, backpacks or handbags at the hotel room. They can become an extra hassle while posing for quick photos. | ||||||

| We would recomend anyone coming to new york to try out a photo trek tour. Not only have we got some great photos but our guide Marc made the tour interesting and pointed out areas that we would not have visited but for this tour. We now have some photos of new york that would have been impossible without this tour. Ten out of Ten | ||||||

| Mark - we cannot thank you enough. Not only a personalised tour of the greatest city in the world , but a unique reminder of a fantastic family holiday. Anyone that can engage with my kids at 8.00am on a sunday morning deserves a medal - but from the moment that you met us at our hotel they were transformed. It certainly must be the best three hour tour of NY with a lifetime photo album thrown in for free ! Good luck with the business - you deserve your success. | ||||||

Seeing NYC with my five year old son

| We really liked the tour and enjoyed the pictures when we got home. Our 5 year old had a blast too! Tip: Try to book earlier in the day if you are doing it with kids in the summer. I was sweating pretty bad by the end of the tour. We live in Houston so we are used to the heat but the subway stations get very humid. The heat got to our five year old son too. Marc made a great restaurant recommendation for the olive tree. It had great food and it was very quite the day we were there. John | ||||||

| This is a great concept - seeing New York with a New Yorker who is also a professional photographer taking pictures of our group in front of some cool New York landmarks. For a first timer in New York, it was awesome. The city doesn't seem nearly as big or intimidating when you are going through it with someone who lives there. Things like how to ride the subway and how the trains work between uptown and downtown and the red line and the "W" line all were clear enough so that we rode the subway the rest of our time in the city. The fact that the whole group is in the picture - and you don't have to find someone to take a picture with your camera - is awesome. And, by the way, since the guide is a professional photographer the pictures were phenomenal. I would definitely do this early in your trip. | ||||||

| Marc was extremely knowledgeable of the city and a great guy to spend the day with. I myself had been to the city many times and Marc still was showing me side streets and places I never knew existed. As you can imagine, for my girlfriend(being her first time in the city), it was a great way to see Manhattan!!! I would recommend Marc to anyone that is visiting New York and even if you live there and just want to get some great photos of you and your family around the city. With 111 pictures over a 2 hour tour I would say our day in the city couldn't have been captured any better! Thanks Marc!!!! | ||||||

| cannot praise this tour highly enough. Marc was incredibly professional and courteous too. We arranged this tour for myself and my best buddy, Pete and it must have taken us at least 35 - 45 seconds to bond with Marc !! Although we have visited New York on many occasions, to see the sights with a professional guide and then have some fantastic photos delivered to your hotel well within 48 hours is a such a brilliant idea and we would have no hesitation in recommending this tour to anyone. In fact we did just that for a young Australian couple the very next day! Regards Keith | ||||||

First Time Travelers to NYC - MUST DO THIS FIRST!!

| My wife and I have never been to NYC and went for a long weekend. I like to plan out everything in advance, being completely unfamiliar with the NYC area, the subways, the cabs, etc., I realized I was in for a huge undertaking. So much to do, so much to see, - where do you start? My wife and I are road warriors, but having to learn where to go, what to do, how to get there, looked like a week's worth of planning. We personally hate group tours - we find them impersonal and you are with a group of strangers that often move at a very different pace. We like bus tours even less because it's hard to get your bearings when you are riding and someone else is doing the driving. So I went on the web, stumbled onto PhotoTrek Walking Tours. Seemed like a great idea - a Native New Yorker who would take us on a PERSONAL TOUR and is a PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER who snaps pictures of us with the NYC backdrop! (like many couples. my wife and I have precious few pics of us together when traveling). We timed our 4 hour “Best of NY” Tour for the very first morning in NYC so we could enjoy the rest of our trip. So with very few plans pre-arranged, we took a huge leap of faith, counting on this tour to guide our trip. Long story short...this was the best decision we have made in years! Our tour guide, Marc Samuels showed up right on time and met us in the lobby of our Hotel (Westin Times Square) at 8:30AM sharp (as confirmed in a personal email to us prior to going). From there, we covered all of Manhattan like a blanket! This was done at our pace (which we are in shape an move pretty fast) - an absolute whirlwind tour of NYC! ..Times Square, Rockefeller Ctr, Trump Towers, Central Park, Chinatown, Little Italy, 5th Avenue, Brooklyn Bridge, Grand Central Station (ask about the whispering wall!), SoHo, Tribeca, Chelsea, Bleecker St, etc. etc. Marc narrates the tour the entire time, patiently asking all of your questions, but then says..."I would like you two to stand here...face this direction.." and snap! snap!..We felt like fashion models touring New York! Marc has an in depth knowledge of New York that has to put him at the top of all tour guides in NYC. When we were done with our tour, we knew exactly how to purchase subway tickets, what trains to get on and off, where to go, etc. NYC can be an intimidating place...after the tour, we were VERY comfortable going everywhere we wanted to go at any time! I can now converse with any New Yorker and know exactly the area! RATINGS: Tour Alone - 5+ stars VALUE: 5+ Stars (Very reasonable price...you try to hire a photgrapher in NYC for 4 hours PLUS get a 4 hour tour of NYC to boot!) . BONUS: 5+ Stars (200+ incredible high qual professional pics delivered to our Hotel next day on CD!) Request Marc Samuels (AWESOME). KNOWS NYC and KNOWS PHOTOGRAPHY! Keep up the good work (and please go to other cities!) We love NYC ...because of you! Godspeed! Mark and Jackie Kidder | ||||||
