Fabulous - Would recommend to all and sundry

My wife and I where visiting New York from Australia as part of a Birthday gift to my wife and purchased the four-hour tour. Marc Samuels provided a wonderful and enthusiastic service. Mr Samuels’s obvious enthusiasm for his native New York was infectious and my wife and I not only enjoyed the photographs but also the fabulous guided tour. We would recommend this tour to all and sundry.

Highlight of our trip

We took the "Best of New York" tour, and it was the highlight of our trip. Marc, our guide took us all over, got us around on the subway, pointed out items of interest we should go back and spend more time seeing (and explained how to get back to them), and showed things and took us places an ordinary tourist might not get to see. On top of all that, he took dozens and dozens of great pictures of group all over the city. I would strongly, strongly recomend this tour!!!

If you only have 4 hours in New York spend it on this tour. If you have 2 weeks in New York start with a 4 hour tour !

The tour with Phototrek was fantastic!

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone! Marc with Phototrek Tours effortlessly guides you through the city to the major sites and takes multiple pictures at each site. You don't have to worry about asking a passerby to take a picture for you, and ultimately end up with an off-center picture or a thumb over the lens. Or even worse, end up with no camera at all! A 2-hour tour is sufficient enough to see the major spots (this is what we did), but be ready to move! Marc will make sure to get you to multiple destinations, but it goes at a quick pace. But this should only speak volumes about Marc's tour -- he wants to make sure you get your money's worth. I proposed to my girlfriend on the tour, and Marc helped effectively ease all my fears before hand. Of course, being such a momentous occasion, I wanted everything to go perfect. After a short conversation with me and what I wanted to do, Marc knew exactly the perfect spot. I left everything else up to him, and he did a wonderful job! I can say that not only will we have wonderful actual engagement pictures for the rest of our lives, but also a great story and memories to go along with it. Marc also helped us conquer the subway system (which is momentous for a couple of people that have never ridden a subway before) as well as recommended one of the best pizza joints in Little Italy. I encourage anyone who is thinking of booking his/her tour to do it in your first few days of your trip, so you can have the full knowledge of the city and the subways like we did. That, and you can have most of your picture taking out of the way too! The one bit of advice I can provide is to not be afraid to ask questions about things (like buildings or history) or as well as taking certain photo shots. Marc will inform you about things along the way, but don't expect a "museum" tour (i.e. a lengthy description of every single thing in New York)-- however, when we did ask about anything, he almost instantly had an answer for it. Also, Marc will have many great pose ideas as well as backgrounds, but if you see something you'd like to do, don't be shy to ask because otherwise the tour will move on without you. All in all, the experience was great and I'd recommend it to anyone, especially those who love to have lasting memories and like to smile for a camera. And if you're thinking of popping the big question, take it from me -- Marc will make sure the moment is extra special.

Lots of pictures enjoying NYC
Sun, Jan 28, 07   8:30 AM romansew Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
Marc not only knows how to take pictures, he knows (and shows you) how to handle in NYC; using the subway when neccessary we spent 4 fantastic hours around all of main NYC highlights (and many different group pictures on all of them). He knows, of course, where to go, but accepts any of your suggestions or preferences. At the same time, you learn all you want from any aspect of NYC you are interested in, for he was indeed born in the Big Apple...Without any doubt, I recommend this tour to any person or group travelling to New York (be or not his/their first visit to it). Thank you, Marc. (I've already used the link in the email you sent me and all the pictures are available and ready to share)

Great way to start out the visit to New York City

Mark was very good with people. He made my husband and me feel at ease. He taught us to use the subway and to not be intimidated by it. We saw more things in four hours than we would have otherwise seen in a week. He took over 150 pictures of us and the sites that we visited. He delivered these to us on a CD the next day. Mark has grown up in the City and so also gave us the feeling that we were meeting a local. He was very professional and at the same time friendly. My husband and I enjoyed the "tour" very much.

Tour of A Lifetime
Wed, Dec 20, 06   8:30 AM jqvfjc3 Male 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Mark made every effort to ensure our trip was fun and informative. We travel domestically pretty frequently, and like most husband and wife trevelers we return home with pictures of each other, but rarely with pictures of us together. With Mark that was not the case on this visit to New York City. We have pictures from locations, and angles that only a native would know about. Mark shaped the tour to meet our personal requests, wants and needs. We decided on the 4 hour tour and highly recommend it in order to see everything possible. After touring with Mark we felt like we were much more capable of geting around the city on our own.

Wife's 30th Birthday Celebration

The "Best of New York" photo tour was fantastic. Marc, the guide, was an outstanding guide and photographer, who not only was able to capture my wife and I on film, but more importantly share with us his vast knowledge of New York City. He not only knew where to go but was able to provide us with the knowledge and education on how to travel in the city on our own. The pictures he takes are amazing, the back drops, the city, the sights are all there behind you to share with family and friends. The tour is perfect for anyone who is looking for an in depth, insiders view of the city; but also those people who never have the chance to take enough pictures on their own when traveling. This is a must for the first time visitor to New York who wants to capture the excitement of your visit on film.

Wow, what a great and awesome experience this was!!!! Mark was super. Called several times before the tour to confirm and make sure of all details. The tour of NYC was great! We saw things we would never have seen or done without his guidence. The pictures are terrific!!! What a way to remember NYC and our trip. The Central Park experience was suberb. We will have life long memories thanks to Mark. Mark has a great attitude and will work with you to see the things you want to see and then will show you things you might not have known about. He was fun to be with for the tour and a great guide. We took several other tours while in the city and the guides were smart asses or not very intellegent. They were just in it for the buck and that was not the case with Mark. If you want to see NYC the right way , avoid all the commercial sight seeing trips and do this. Well worth every penny!!! Mark, thanks for the great and awesome tour and pictures!!!

Best part of my trip to the big apple.
Sun, Nov 5, 06   8:00 AM pzimmerman Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
Not only did my wife and I get a great tour, loaded with local flavor and history from a true native New Yorker, we have the best photos from any of the vacations we have ever been on. The exceptional quality of the pictures can only be equaled by the iconic NYC locals that they where taken at. Not only would I do another tour with Marc and Phototrek when I return to the city, I am recommending it to anyone I know on their way to the big city.

We wanted to learn more about New York from a native New Yorker. Marc was very knowledgeable. He provided much information and showed us sights we did not know about such as the talking wall at Grand Central Station. The pictures he provided at the end made the tour truly memorable. We highly recommend Photo Trek Tours.
