Excellent rock tour
Wed, Feb 3  1:00 PM elaynesutton Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
An informative and entertaining walk through East Village, discovering iconic rock and punk landmarks that we would have passed by without the benefit of Bobby Pinn's huge encyclopaedic store of information. Bobby made the whole seventies and eighties scene in East Village come alive, and gave excellent recommendations for eating, drinking, shopping in the kind of places we didn't know even existed! Would highly recommend this tour for anyone with an interest in rock music.

Bobby Knows His Stuff

Although most of the sites "used to be here" because of the time frame of most of the bands and musicians in this neighborhood, Bobby makes the 70s and 80s in this neighborhood come alive, with stories of the bands, promoters and club owners. Very worthwhile.

I read up on the Rock Junket Tour leading up to my trip to NYC, and Pinn did not let down. Anyone who loves rock, especially the historic NY Punk scene, must pencil this walking tour down when they visit the Big Apple. It was the highlight of my trip. Bought his book, too, and used that as a guide for my own excursions the rest of the days. Can't wait to go back and hit his other tours.

Highlight of my trip to NYC
Wed, Dec 23, 09   1:00 PM tomlafr Male 40-49 International Tourist(s) Individual
This was, without a doubt, the highlight of my time in NYC. Ive been to NYC a number of times and am always amazed at the vast array of sites to see and things to do. However, this was the tour that gave me the best feel for the city - beyond any of the other touristy things. Bobby gives the tour in an informal , yet incredibly informative , manner. He is personable and knowledgeable. He tailors the tour to the interests of the group. He is friendly and helpful. After the tour, I went for a beer at Manitoba's - very very cool bar. I feel like Bobby has become and friend and will definitely look him up next time in NYC. I'll take the tour again too.

Bobby Pinn is the perfect rock tour guide. His enthusiasm is infectious and I loved the way he pulled record covers and photos out of his bag of tricks to reinforce the sites of interest with a visual from the past. I had wandered past several of the sites for days before the tour and they took on a greater significance after.

I thoroughly recommend this tour if you are even slightly interested in the rich musical and artistic history of the East Village. The tour guide is knowledgable and engaging, and importantly seems to be a hell of a nice guy. He's a great source of local knowledge so not only do you get an informative and entertaining history of the area and it's notable sights and buildings, but he can also assist with any other question you would have as a visitor to NY. If the names Iggy Pop, New York Dolls or Ramones mean anything to you then you will love this tour.

Wow, this tour was great. Bobby is such an enthusiastic and knowledgable guide, that we could have spent all day listening to him. We took this trip on the last day of our stay in New York and now are determined to go back and explore the East Village some more - it's such a cool place. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone into their punk and rock music - we learnt so much and had a great time.

this was my second favorite thing i did in new york (the first being seeing them crooked vulutres that night) this was a perfect compliment to my trip that was all about rock n roll in new york we saw so many little things that if I had headed to the east village on my own I would have missed and that is what truely made the tour also bobby did a great job in what was terrible weather, it was so cold and wet that our teeth were chattering the whole time, but he still kept it fun and light hearted and personable!

Found this tour on the internet, wanted something different from the usual touristy stuff in New York. Was more than pleased with the P&R tour. Bobby Pin was a hive of information on the rock and punk scene!

I brought my 13 year old son with me and we both had a blast. Bobby Pinn was knowledgable and really seemed like a fan of the music, which made it even better, it wasn't just some rehashing of punk history by someone who could care less. Bobby also took some great photos of my son and I which was a plus and one picture of us in front of the great Joe Strummer mural, Bobby said "fridge magnet" and indeed it is! Ha! Thanks!
