| Bobby's a first rate storyteller and even brought visual aids (albums, vintage photos) to flesh out some of the locales, which is a good thing because, frankly, there's not a whole lot to really look at on this tour. There are a couple exceptions - Led Zep fans are in for a treat - but for the most part Bobby's recreating scenes that arent there any more. Fillmore East is now a bank and CBGBs and their iconoclastic awning are both long gone. It's a tough job, and he does it admirably. Aside from a brief speech about gentrification in the Bowery, this was a 99% music tour, as advertised, but I probably wouldve enjoyed it more if Bobby wove in addtl non musical 'hood history with his fond tales of who vomited on whom back in the day. For example, we walked right by Cooper Union, which is a pretty remarkable place historically and socially, with nary a comment. This tour lured me to a neighborhood I'd likely not explore on my own anytime soon, so that was worthwhile and interesting. It was real hot, and that took some steam out of my middle aged bod, but on a cool, breezy day, this would make for a reasonably fun, offbeat way to kill a couple hours. | ||||||

| We had a terrific time on this tour. It was a Father's Day gift for my husband and he loved it! The walk through the East Village was educational, as we knew very little about this area of the City. I highly recommend the tour. | ||||||

| We had already done a fair bit of exploring in the East Village before taking this tour, but the two hours we spent doing this were great. We found out that we had walked right past several sites that we would have never known what they were or what had happened there if we hadn't taken this tour. I love Led Zeppelin and the Stones and my 14 year-old son loves the Ramones, so we had a blast visiting places and hearing stories about them. Bobby was cool and this turned out to be one of our favorite things that we did while in NYC. | ||||||

Great RnR Tour of the East Village

| The tour was very informative and highly entertaining. Bobby (the tour guide) clearly knows his music history and the associated landmarks of the East Village. In addition to the RnR component of the tour, it was nice walking the area with someone that's a local resident. My wife and I had our son with us (he's 15). He enjoyed the tour as well. | ||||||

| Very entertaining. Bobby Pinn is the real deal. His enthusiasm and affection for the people and places of the East Village make this a great way to spend a couple hours learning about an era that is slowly fading away. My wife and grown children loved it. | ||||||

| This was for the most part an interesting tour. The guide really did his research and gave an entertaining talk. He kept things interesting with trivia questions and prize giveaways. My only complaint is that there is one stretch of the tour (towards the end) where we walked several blocks with nothing to see/talk about. I understand why he wanted to end at the former CBGB's site, but he needs to either redo the route or find some more interesting stuff along the way. I felt that he could have talked about the Hells Angels block and gone into detail about the assassination attempt on Mick Jagger's life, for instance. Also - in the beginning he told us we could all go have a beer with him afterwards, but at the end of the tour he just vanished with a friend. | ||||||

| The tour was led by someone with excellent knowledge. He provided some good historical contexting which went beyond the subject of the tour, but placed the area and subject in relationship to the rest of New York. This created broader appeal. He also had excellent visual aids to provide the history. | ||||||

| I had an opportunity to spend a week with my 17 year old son and his friend in NY over spring break. This was the 3rd trip to the city for them and they took the opportunity to look for the unusual not the typical tourist attractions. They decided that a trip around the east and west villages seeing and expierencing the culture and history of the music gendre would be great. We spent the first afternoon with the greatest tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and took us through the 1960's through the 90's. My Son was so inspired! He spent the next two days in the village researching all the history. I know he did not get to it all but he is now on a mission to learn more about the times and to experience/see what it was all about. I want to thank you for the tour and would recommend this to anyone who is interested in rock/punk history. | ||||||

| Despite an unseasonably cold and windy day, our host kept us enthralled throughout the entire walking tour. I'd highly recommend the experience to anyone interested in the punk or rock scene of the 70's and 80's East Village. | ||||||

| My son [age 15] and I had some time to kill in NYC this weekend and I had ordered up some tix for the tour. "Bobby" did a great job of finding these punk landmarks with accompanying terrific stories. Nice way to pass on my generation to my son's. We had a ball! | ||||||

| This was a great tour enjoyed by both my husband and I, punk rock enthusiasts, and our two 12 year old boys, aspiring punk rock musicians. The historical aspect of the tour along with Bobby Pinn's reartie made it a tour to remember. We're looking forward to the Dylan tour and the Beatles tour in the future. | ||||||

| This tour was the highlight of our trip to new york city. My daughter is 13yo and a rock, punk , glam fanatic and this tour was unbelievable for her ( and Me too ). I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in that period of music and for all teen agers. we were really fortunate as we were the only people on the tour ( we went on a weekday rather than a weekend_I recommend this) so essentially had a private tour. wear comfortable shoes | ||||||

| Bobby Pin is the best! He is passionable, funny, really knows about what he does!We went to his punk rock tour with our 13 year old son and it was great. When we arrived home in Brazil after 12 wonderful days in New York our boy keeps telling everyone that this tour was the best of all he did there! You sure are going to have many brazilian Punk Rock lovers from now on... Thanks to Bob Pin, keep on the good work! | ||||||
