Fun and informative excursion

This tour was perfect for us. I had read about all the "rock and roll" sights in NY, many of which don't exist anymore, and would never have been able to visit them on my own. Bobby took us to many of them very efficiently, providing us with background and interesting anecdotes, complete with visual props. A very enjoyable time indeed.

Very interesting to see famous venues (or the sites thereof) from the Seventies and Eighties. Particularly enjoyed CBGB's and Filmore East. Very informative & entertaining guide - Bobby ?

We really enjoyed our East Village rock tour. Our guide (John Pimm?) is a real rock fan with a lot of knowledge, personality and personal experience about what he talk about. Many thanks and long live rock'n'roll!

Bobby Pinn is passionate about the NYC music scene
Fri, Oct 5, 07   1:00 PM ckuberski Female 40-49 Combination Other
This tour is for those who are serious about the punk rock music scene in NY/East Village during the 70-80's. The Ramones are the holy trinity and everything starts from there...if your punk "lite" this is not the tour for you. I enjoyed the tour and learned how important the East Village was in the 70's. But I felt if I expressed loving the Go-Go's in the late 70"s "Johnny your so Queer" era, before thier pop hits, I would have been told to leave the tour. Bobby is serious and extremely knowledgeable about his music and I felt a little out of my league. I would like a tour of Billy Holiday-Diana Washington-Etta James-Judy Garland-and those great ladies and their contribution to NY music scene in the 40-50-60's. I would recommend the tour to friends coming to NYC, because there is nothing like it anywhere else and you have your own docent to the East Village. Wish we had a Bobby Pinn in LA who could take me through my own backyard and educate Los Angelenos about the music scene in the 60-70's. Thank you, Connie Kuberski

A REAL GOOD TOUR

I enjoyed this tour a great deal & recommend it to others. The tour guide did an outstanding job of mixing knowledgeable with humor, and he's very approachable. It was also good that I planned this tour on a nice day, which made the walk more enjoyable. I also like the summary of the tour that was handed out at the end, as well as the fact that the cell. # was listed on the ticket, as I was running a few minutes late & I would've missed the tour had it not been for that.. Overall, all went well & i had a real good time.

a wonderful 2h trip into the heart of the East Village and his musical history. If you want to learn more and see where the Ramones began, where Warhol and his factory held partys, what kind of building inspired Zeppelin for "you know which cover album" I'm talking about...well you will learn a whole bunch of stuff with the help of those amazing guides who will make those streets talking musicaly to you. Fantastic walking tour Thank you again...

A Fantastic Tour

We both really enjoyed the tour and it was one of the highlights of our visit to New York. Bobby was very knowlegable and the tour was very interesting. This tour is a must if you are interested in The Ramones, Andy Warhol, Iggy Pop, The Clash etc. It was great to see where these people lived, hung out and filmed music videos. The tour ends at CBGBs and you get a chance to go inside, have a drink in the gallery and a look round CBGBs which is the perfect end to a great tour. Bobby really knows his stuff and gives you information you don't get from books. It was a fantastic day out and I would definitely take the tour again if back in New York.

FUN AND INFORMATIVE

A group of four girlfriends including one NYC resident took this tour and we all really enjoyed it. Bobby certainly knows his stuff and is happy to share his love of the NY rock/punk scene. Such a pity that CBGBs is closed. Do the walk then go back and listen to your fave Ramones tracks with new enthusiasm!

Fantastic

In the spirit of the independents, Bobby Pin's tour of the East Side of Manhattan is fully recommended for any fan of alternative music- thanks to his knowledge, see where the Led Zep Physical Graffiti cover was taken, where Warhol hosted his parties, the Fillmore, CBGBs and of course, The Ramones. Brilliant.

Fan of punk and NYC's rock'n'roll history? Just curious? This is a fun 2 hour walking tour of the East Village that opens up your eyes to sights and experiences you don't get from your average guidebook. Bobby does a nice job of telling stories and showing you places that are part of NYC's music history - Joey Ramone's apartment, CBGB's, Charlie Parker's house and more. If you've got a good group of music fans, makes it even better!

This tour was very well done. The tour guide, Bobby Pin, was likeable and interesting, easy to understand. He really knew his stuff. He had lots of visual aids, photos and album covers, which added a lot to the tour. Any big Rock fan of the 70s punk scene would love this, great way to spend 2 hours.
