| My husband and I took this tour last week and enthusiastically recommend it. We were looking for something a bit off the beaten track where we would learn about an area of interest while touring a neighborhood that we were unfamiliar with. Our guide, Bobby, was excellent. His personal love for and experience with the subject matter made for a great experience. Additionally, he brought photos, articles and album covers, which were a nice reference. We loved it! | ||||||

| WE LOVED THIS TOUR!! The tour guide was very very informative and knowledgeable. He took his time answering questions and even took pics of us at some of the locations. My husband and I are both musicians, so we appreciated all the work and research put in to make this tour as informative as it was. I especially enjoyed the props out guide brought along (album covers, photos, articles). GREAT!! We would absolutely recommend this tour and when we next visit NYC we will definitely take another one of the tours offereed by the same guide (Beatles walk, etc.). | ||||||

| I bought tickets for this tour because I have been to NY lots of times before and I was looking for something kind of different than the other walking tours offered in the city. The tour guide, Bobby Pinn, is an excellent guide. He really knows about the subjects he talks about and since this is relatively a new tour, there is not too many people and you get the individual feeling. We were 7 people and 5 of them went to have a beer with the tour guide afterwards. I recommand this tour highly before too many people hear about it and it becomes too popular!!! | ||||||

| We had a really great time and Bobby was very knowledgeable about NY music. Would recommend this for anyone (adults) looking for some music history and pop trivia, as well as info on some of the buildings and neighborhoods on the walk. | ||||||

| This tour was perfect for us. I had read about all the "rock and roll" sights in NY, many of which don't exist anymore, and would never have been able to visit them on my own. Bobby took us to many of them very efficiently, providing us with background and interesting anecdotes, complete with visual props. A very enjoyable time indeed. | ||||||

| This tour was the highlight of our trip to new york city. My daughter is 13yo and a rock, punk , glam fanatic and this tour was unbelievable for her ( and Me too ). I highly recommend it to anyone who is interested in that period of music and for all teen agers. we were really fortunate as we were the only people on the tour ( we went on a weekday rather than a weekend_I recommend this) so essentially had a private tour. wear comfortable shoes | ||||||

A Walk On the Wild Side

| My concern before embarking on this walking tour was that we would not locate the meeting point as a previous reviewer had complained that it was difficult to find. I worried unnecessarily however - we met up with our guide Bobby Pinn with no problems at all. After being warmly welcomed, we then embarked on a fascinating two hour or so walk around the (once) wild side of New York, the area that provided the spawning ground for the 70s NY punk scene. We started where Joey Ramone once lived, walked the streets that Debbie Harry and the boys in Blondie tramped, posed in front of legendary New York Dolls' hangout, walked through Iggy Pop's old neighbourhood and ended our tour outside the sad sight / site of the now defunct CBGBs. Throughout our tour Bobby gave us some great anecdotes and tales of Rock n' Roll excess and strangeness, as well as testing us on our rock trivia. To the passer-by it must look odd to see a group of tourists huddling round an un-prepossessing grocery store on the Lower East Side gazing at its frontage in awe, (particularly being as we were in the shadow of some of the world's greatest architectural landmarks), however the tour really gives the participant a flavour of the environment and conditions that informed the work of so many of the greats from the NY music scene of the 60s and 70s. Plus it's a great way to burn off some of those calories amassed from a heavy egg and pancake breakfast earlier! | ||||||

| A group of four girlfriends including one NYC resident took this tour and we all really enjoyed it. Bobby certainly knows his stuff and is happy to share his love of the NY rock/punk scene. Such a pity that CBGBs is closed. Do the walk then go back and listen to your fave Ramones tracks with new enthusiasm! | ||||||

| This was great. I have spent a lot of time in New York, but always did my own thing and never appreciated the stories behind some of the most infamous rock legends. Probably because I didn't know the stories. Going to places like where The Stones "Waiting on a Friend" video was shot took you back and you could actually imagine what it was like to be there. Standing in front of where Warhol held his Electric Circus was so amazing to just sit there and picture these people coming and going and what was happening inside. I always wished I was alive and old enough during that time to be there. Go on this tour, close your eyes and use your imagination. I also suggest if you go on Saturday hit B Bar and Grill on 4th and Bowery. It had an amazing brunch. One of the best Bloody Mary's and Steak Breakfast Burritos I have ever had. Thanks Bobby Pinn! | This tour was one of the major highlights of our trip to New York! Bobby Pinn who leads the tour is not only an awesome guy, but a wealth of Rock Knowledge! I pride myself on knowing alot of musical history; but I learned so much from just a few hours on this tour! It not only shows you all the musical hot spots, but gives you a great walking class on the Village in New York! I highly recommend that anyone who loves music put this tour at the top of your "to do " list! Rock On! | ||||||

| Our tour guide knew his stuff. We got to hear some great stories that related to the sights we were seeing. He had brought pictures and albums along so we could see the artists as he talked about them. We had fun and saw some really rad places! | ||||||

| Going on this tour made me wish I'd lived in NYC in the 1970's! I have already recommended the tour to loads of friends who are also travelling to New York. I saw so many places that were connected to musicians I have always loved and the guide was able to offer so much insight into what happened at each of these places, and in most cases, show photos of how the places looked back in the day. The tour guide was also able to answer questions about sites that were not specifically on the tour and provide directions for people to find places themselves once the tour had finished. All in all, I can't praise this tour highly enough, I really enjoyed it. | ||||||

| Bobby Pin is the best! He is passionable, funny, really knows about what he does!We went to his punk rock tour with our 13 year old son and it was great. When we arrived home in Brazil after 12 wonderful days in New York our boy keeps telling everyone that this tour was the best of all he did there! You sure are going to have many brazilian Punk Rock lovers from now on... Thanks to Bob Pin, keep on the good work! | ||||||

| It was wonderful to see these places that were once the pinnacles of the NYC music scene. The tour guide offered humorous and insightful stories about the musicians that played at these clubs. Due to the gentrification of the area the majority of the sites on the tour are now closed turned into noodle shops but it was awesome to hear about what some seemingly unimportant buildings were...once upon a time, long ago and far away. | ||||||
