This was a last minute decision for a group of lads looking for something to do whilst our ladies did the sex in the city tour. We went into it with no expectation and loved every minute of it. The tour was interesting, informative & fun. The guide really held your interest at all times as well. It was great receiveuing a detailed insght into NYC's rich rocknroll heritage!

Bobby Pinn is a really cool guide for this tour of the East Village and the Rock n' Roll sights. If you are any kind of music fan, I feel this is well worth the $20-even if you don't know the music-it's cool to do something different than the typical NYC tours. The weather was beautiful and the sights and culture are so diverse, it really gives you a nice feel of the neighborhood and what it would have been like to be around the East Village in the late '60's and '70's through today. I highly recommend this tour and you will be cooler just for going! Tour ends at CBGB's (which is said to be closing in August-so sad!)

A Fantastic Tour

We both really enjoyed the tour and it was one of the highlights of our visit to New York. Bobby was very knowlegable and the tour was very interesting. This tour is a must if you are interested in The Ramones, Andy Warhol, Iggy Pop, The Clash etc. It was great to see where these people lived, hung out and filmed music videos. The tour ends at CBGBs and you get a chance to go inside, have a drink in the gallery and a look round CBGBs which is the perfect end to a great tour. Bobby really knows his stuff and gives you information you don't get from books. It was a fantastic day out and I would definitely take the tour again if back in New York.

A REAL GOOD TOUR

I enjoyed this tour a great deal & recommend it to others. The tour guide did an outstanding job of mixing knowledgeable with humor, and he's very approachable. It was also good that I planned this tour on a nice day, which made the walk more enjoyable. I also like the summary of the tour that was handed out at the end, as well as the fact that the cell. # was listed on the ticket, as I was running a few minutes late & I would've missed the tour had it not been for that.. Overall, all went well & i had a real good time.

I can really recommend this tour. The guide Bobby knows the subject. He can also told you things you can't read from the books. So if you are interested about rock & roll and New York City this tour is MUST.

Great tour by Bobby Pin. This was an excellent way to see rock n roll New York. Bobby knew what he was talking about and his recommendations for places to shop, eat, and drink were great!

Stumbled across the flyer for the tour in a window of a music store. Thought we'd give it a go-and we are so glad that we did! Mr. Pin was a very informative guide with tones of knowledge and even pointed out some great East Village places to hang out. Would definitely reccomdend this tour to anyone-great way to explore the East Village!!

Excellent tour of the music history in WestVillage

Pittsburgh Larry was a fantastic guide. Tour was awesome, saw many landmarks where certain events took place in the 60s & 70s, many venues and ex-venues, where musicians lived, where album covers were photographed, and heard MANY great stories about the era, that took place in the West Village. Would definitely recommend!

Had been weighing up between a few different rock tours - so glad I picked Rock Junket! Bobby Pinn really knows his stuff, awesome guy! Tour was fantastic, discovered a lot about the music scene in the East Village in the 60s/70s and even some of the 80s & 90s. Simply awesome.

Rockin' NYC

This was an incredibly fun and informative walking tour. Bobby Pinn (our guide) clearly knew his stuff and provided detailed information and history of the countless sights we visited. His passion and enthusiasm only served to enhance the tour. While it's easy to get caught up doing the regular run-of-the-mill tourist activities in New York such as museums and Times Square, etc, walking tours have always been a favourite of mine and provide you with an opportunity to not only visit parts of NYC that you might not ordinarily do so, it also provides you with a better understanding of a significant part of the great city's musical history. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in rock and punk music. Thanks Bobby!

Bobby Pinn is a Rock 'n' Roll Magellan!
Sat, Feb 25, 12   11:00 AM logankyoung Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Individual
In a city teeming with rock lore, Bobby Pinn is uniquely able to 'pin down' the coolest of hot spots. Never before have I met a guy (much less a guide!) so knowledgeable about so many different kinds of music. Be it Leadbelly or Bird, Iggy or Madge, Pinn's got a kick-ass New York story for each and every one. You want specifics --- what's the best night to actually catch Handsome Dick at Manitoba's?, does Alan Vega really still live off Joey Ramone Place? (furthermore, why does that sign look wrong?) --- well, Pinn's got 'em by the butt-load. Hell, he even knows a thing or three about NYC sports...not to mention where to find the best pint of Guinness in all the five boroughs. In short, Bobby Pinn has forgotten more about New York city's musical heritage than most of us will ever even get the chance to know. And in closing, I simply can't recommend his tours enough. If you care about rock 'n' roll at all, you owe it to yourself to ride shotgun on his Rock Junket. No man is an island, yes. But as long as you have Bobby Pinn guiding you through Manhattan, you won't need another damn thing. Rock on, Logan K. Young
