The tour guide was excellent - really brought alive the various sights and told us the history, hardly any of which I had heard before. Highly recommended.

5 days in East Village!

I had my startingpoint in my 8-dayvication at St. Marks Hotel in East Village. Fantastic feeling just to be there in the area where so much has happend threw the years & in the same hotel as Ramones lived in during there startuptime & where G.G.Allin spent his last 9 month.(Cheap, clean Hotel with excellent helpful stuff). Bobby Pinns "Rock Junket Tour" was very inspiring with lots of places you cant leave N.Y.C. without a look at. As C.B.G.B.īs former place,Joey Ramones NYC pad,Iggy Pops,Andy Warhols & Madonnas former recidents among many other interesting places we saw. I look forward to the release-date of Bobby Pinns book about all this and more. Enthusiastically Recommended by Bjorn V. from Sweden.

I can't overstate how good this tour & its guide, Bobby Pinn, are. Two hours of impassioned and entertaining NY Glam, Punk and Rock mischief in the East Village and the notorious Alphabet City. Sign up now!

I thoroughly recommend this tour if you are even slightly interested in the rich musical and artistic history of the East Village. The tour guide is knowledgable and engaging, and importantly seems to be a hell of a nice guy. He's a great source of local knowledge so not only do you get an informative and entertaining history of the area and it's notable sights and buildings, but he can also assist with any other question you would have as a visitor to NY. If the names Iggy Pop, New York Dolls or Ramones mean anything to you then you will love this tour.

Found this tour on the internet, wanted something different from the usual touristy stuff in New York. Was more than pleased with the P&R tour. Bobby Pin was a hive of information on the rock and punk scene!

Great Experience

I had an opportunity to spend a week with my 17 year old son and his friend in NY over spring break. This was the 3rd trip to the city for them and they took the opportunity to look for the unusual not the typical tourist attractions. They decided that a trip around the east and west villages seeing and expierencing the culture and history of the music gendre would be great. We spent the first afternoon with the greatest tour guide who was extremely knowledgeable and took us through the 1960's through the 90's. My Son was so inspired! He spent the next two days in the village researching all the history. I know he did not get to it all but he is now on a mission to learn more about the times and to experience/see what it was all about. I want to thank you for the tour and would recommend this to anyone who is interested in rock/punk history.

ROCK N ROLL HISTORIC JOURNEY

This was my first visit to NYC and being a rock n roll fan ,what better way to find the rock history of THE LOWER EAST SIDE .If you are into your 70s,80s punk/rock then this tour is for you with loads of history of that era mainly, sadly as explained before the tour starts ,most places have been replaced by more modern, corperate places. But luckerly a few real jems are included but get in quick as prob the most famous place CBGBS is closing in next few months. This is a very relaxed morning, with different ages & types of people & a host who can answer quistions if asked.Well worth checking out even with a hangover from the night before!.Just hope some sites are left for next time i visit NYC

Awesome! We had a great time and look forward to taking another tour with Rock Junket. Our guide was knowledgeable and quite interesting. He showed us a neighborhood we probably wouldn't have seen otherwise.

Nice to learn some local history.

It was really interesting to learn the history behind some of my old favorite haunts. The first half of the tour was concentrated around the St. Mark's area, with historic details about places that I go to all the time. The second half was in and around alphabet city, and included lots of info about album covers, former artists' residences and so on. The guide, Bobby Pinn, seemed to have endless knowledge of the music world from an insider's perspective, and as a result the tour was geared more toward authentically local hot-spots as opposed to the typical tourist attractions.

Enjoyed the tour thoroughly. Bobby was able to answer all our questions and showed us things we never would have seen on our own. Never thought I would be wandering around Alphabet City on foot! If you are into real rock and roll, don't miss it!

A must for all you Ramones fans!!

We've just arrived back in Scotland from our vacation in New York and I have to say that the Rock Junket Tour was our personal highlight. For all you music fans and in particular fans who are interested in where punk originated from it was quite fascinating. My partner and I are both massive Ramones fans and it was fantastic to see where they lived & hung out etc. We didn't even realise Joey had a street named after him! It was great to see CBGB's as we had read and heard so much about it from books etc. So, to actually be there, standing outside it was something else. There were many interesting artefacts on the tour, things which we found particularly interesting were Iggy Pop's flat and where he walked his dog, the Joe Strummer mural, the Continental where all the bands played and Joey had his birthday parties, where Madonna lived before she became famous and of course all the Ramones stuff. May I also say that the guy who takes the tour, Bobby Pinn, is a really knowledgable person who certainly knows his stuff when it comes to the New York music scene. He's a really cool guy too and very friendly. So Bobby, if you ever read this and decide to carry out your dream to play golf on the Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland, you can drop us an email and we'll catch up with you for a beer!!

Entertaining, informative and Fun

Really enjoyed the process of the Rock Junket, wandering around the Village and finding all the interesting Punk and Rock related spots. The host of the tour Bobby was excellent. Went back at the end of the tour to Manitoba's Pub and had a beer and a chat with the barman which was fun. The bar has a large number of rock and punk related photos on the wall and is well worth a visit. In fact it would have been nice to have dropped in there as part of the tour for a beer. As by the time we were at that point we had walked a fair amount and a brief sit down and beer would have been enjoyable. All in all I would thoroughly recommend the tour.
