Bobby knows his stuff. This was a cool tour if you are a rock and roll/punk fan. This is your history. It's a great way to see the sites and walk the same streets where these guys, Ramones, Iggy, Lou Reed and all made music history and lived their lives. Be ready for a quiz or two. This is not just a "Johnny Ramone slept here" tour. Cool stories behind the album covers and the background of other characters that made up the scene, GG Allin for one. Plus it's a great way to learn the Village streets. Do it.

I was writing a huge research paper on punk and this tour was my first resource. Pinn is a great guide with a lot of first hand accounts and was nice enough to help me with my paper after the tour. The tour shows off the city's rock history so well, I had been to the neighborhood many times and had no idea about the amount of incredible places that are there. It really makes you want to tell the rest of the city about the amazing history it has. If you love the music or just want a really cool and engaging history lesson this is how you'll want to spend your afternoon. It's awesome.

A different kind of tour!
Fri, Jul 6, 07   1:00 PM cricri7 Female 30-39 International Tourist(s) Individual
I bought tickets for this tour because I have been to NY lots of times before and I was looking for something kind of different than the other walking tours offered in the city. The tour guide, Bobby Pinn, is an excellent guide. He really knows about the subjects he talks about and since this is relatively a new tour, there is not too many people and you get the individual feeling. We were 7 people and 5 of them went to have a beer with the tour guide afterwards. I recommand this tour highly before too many people hear about it and it becomes too popular!!!

I'd recommend this to ANYBODY who has the faintest bit of interest in Rock and Roll music. Bobby Pinn is THE authority on the New York scene and on my tour there were lots of "Oohs" & "Aahs"...there seemed to be another Rock and Roll revelation on every street!! Ernie Fritz rocks!!!

This tour is awesome. A must for anyone interested in The New York Rock scene. Bobby Pinn was most informative & provided many interesting stories. I was truly dissapointed when it ended!! And what a fabulous way to end by finishing up at CBGB's (RIP). Very insightful and well worth the $25. I would recommend this tour in an instant. Nathaniel, Sydney Australia.

ROCK N ROLL HISTORIC JOURNEY
Sat, Jul 15, 06   11:00 AM SHAKEY Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Individual
This was my first visit to NYC and being a rock n roll fan ,what better way to find the rock history of THE LOWER EAST SIDE .If you are into your 70s,80s punk/rock then this tour is for you with loads of history of that era mainly, sadly as explained before the tour starts ,most places have been replaced by more modern, corperate places. But luckerly a few real jems are included but get in quick as prob the most famous place CBGBS is closing in next few months. This is a very relaxed morning, with different ages & types of people & a host who can answer quistions if asked.Well worth checking out even with a hangover from the night before!.Just hope some sites are left for next time i visit NYC

This tour is worth doing if you are a fan of 60's and 70's rock. Especially if you like Led Zep, Stones and all the CDGB late 70's era bands like Talking Heads, Ramones, Television etc. Whilst not amazing, the tour does sadly highlight the capitalist attitudes of NYC. Site after site with immense historical value has been ruined for the mighty dollar. We are talking places that Hendrix performed at etc.. If this sounds like the sort of thing that would interest you than you should go.

Infectiously informative intertainment by Bobby

What a great 2 hours that was – starting at Joey Ramones’ one time apartment building, winding our way through the East Village and ending in the bathrooms of CBGBs. Bobby Pinn has obviously lived and breathed a lot of what he talks about, so the many asides & anecdotes come from his own experiences. And even with a hangover he related all this without notes. He was, though, ably armed with a stack of great photographs plus original record covers which he produced at the appropriate locations. Get on this tour quick because I don’t think these record covers are going to last.
