We had a group of seven, which included our three daughters plus two Japanese exchange students, with a range in ages from 9 - 16. We had a wonderful experience, and believe that this trip truly showcased the beauty of our Monterey Bay. We would highly recommend this activity to everyone. The crew was great! |

The event was a gathering of family and friends for a birthday party and our group sailed on Saturday (8/1) at 1:00. We had a wonderful time and the only suggestion I received from my party was that the cruise would have been enjoyed for a longer period of time (more than one hour). Other than that, it was enjoyed by all and I will highly recommend this event to all my friends. Thank you! |

The day sail on Monterey Bay was a great way to spend an hour with friends who had little exposure to sailing. The crew were great hosts, the weather was postcard perfect and my friends enjoyed a perspective of the Santa Cruz coast line they had never experienced. |

We had no expectations about what to expect on this trip. We were both pleasantly surprised and had a very enjoyable experience. There was also an unexpected surprise and we were fortunate enough to see two whales that happened to be passing through the bay at the same time as our sailing event.
We made a decision to spend most of the day at the harbor and had lunch/breakfast at Aldo's and followed the sailing event with a couple of drinks at the Crow's Nest.
A very enjoyable day that I would do again! |

The crew was patiently waiting as I arrived a few minutes late, with big smiles and nice greetins! Throughout the boat ride they were very helpful and nice, I would recommend this trip for anyone looking to get away on a nice short trip. THANKS ;) |

First of all the staff is very friendly and fun and we already booked a longer sail with our entire family with kids and grandparents included. What makes this boat different is stays flat and will be kid and elderely friendly. You may also bring your own drinks and snacks and the price is affordable. I can't wait to take the entire family on this next sail. Good job Team Oneill! |

The fog was very thick. Could not see a thing for most of the trip. I think that on such days, O'Neill should consider allowing people to opt out!! No need to give money back, just a credit to come some other days....Such a guesture would go a long way and will solidify his great reputation. Again, the boat and the crew are A1!! |

I planned our sail for a group of 10 women celebrating a bachelorette party. There were several other large groups on the boat having parties so it was a great atmosphere, fun and relaxing! |

This was my first time on the O"Neil sailboat and we could not have been more pleased. I first considered the Chardonay, but we were taking my 80 year old mother and my 75 year old aunt. The great thing about the O'Neil boat is that being a catamaran, it stays more level when under sail and there are more flat surfaces for walking and sitting. The two bench seats worked wonderfully for the older folks, providing a solid place to sit, blocked from the wind, but still a great view. Also, at $30 the price was also significantly cheaper than the Chardonay ($50). We were permitted, even encouraged, to bring your own food and drinks (alcohol OK), which was great. The crew was very friendly and accomodated by cousins request to drive further south so we could see the sooty shearwater birds. The drivers response was, "well, it will make us a little late, but I don't think anyone would mind." It ended up being a hightlight of the sail. We saw lots of otters and seals too. My mom, aunt and cousins said the sail was the highlight of their visit. We did luck into good wind and sun, which helped. I have already recommended it to some of my local friends, and we plan to sign up for the fireworks cruise. |

It was a gorgeous (slightly windy) day which made it a fun experience for us (4 adults & 2 children). Being able to see the boardwalk and wharf from the ocean was incredible. The weather was perfect. There were many sailing boats out and it was great being able to watch them. Our group took some light snacks (cheese, crackers, salami, etc.) on board so it was very nice. My only complaint was that BYOB is no longer an option, we were really looking forward to enjoying a nice bottle of wine, but instead had to wait until we docked to enjoy our wine. Still, a great experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Santa Cruz area and/or locals just wanting to try something different. |

My brother and his wife were visiting from NYC. I wanted to include an ocean outing in their itinerary without making a huge commitment in time and money. The sail was perfect. The boat was comfortable and authentic. Not too crowded. The staff was friendly and helpful. We sailed a bit but because of lack of wind had to switch on to motor. This was not predictable and not the fault of the crew. The captain said he would have kept the sails up had the wind cooperated. We saw sea lions and otters. We stayed between the wharf and not as far south as Capitola but it was nice for a short jaunt. It was just enough for us. I recommend this sail to anyone wanting a short, very reasonably priced excursion in the bay. |
