Our guide, Gary Hardy, was knowledgeable, funny, a good singer, with lots of stories to tell about the people in the music industry that he knew or had worked with, as well as local folks. This was one of the best tours we've ever taken. The 2 hours just flew by. Wish we'd had more time to try another tour. Maybe next time.

Loved the tour. Gary was a treasure chest of musical history. Would highly recommend this to anyone who is a lover of music and southern history. Can't wait to go again next time I'm in Memphis.

Loved being part of the "band" with our shakers, tambourines, and bongos. Jake Fly, our Tour Guide, was highly entertaining as well as informative. He kept the sights relavant with his choices of music and humor. And he kept his audience amused throughout the tour. I would wholeheartedly recommend the Back Beat Tour to everyone.

The tour was great, the tour guide (musician) was fabulous. I never knew 90 minutes could fly by so fast! Absolutely worth every penny. Don't go to Memphis without taking this tour.

The Guide Matters Alot

This was my third time n the Mojo tour. At this point I have seen enough to know that that the guide makes or breaks this tour. My first time was fantastic. The guide was Memphis Jones and he was a blast. The bus was rockin with him playing tunes. Can't remember the name of the guide the second time but definitely not at the same level of entertainer as Memphis Jones. But it was still a fun tour with lots of music. Just took the tour earlier this week for the third time and it was a terrible let down. I took the family on this one because the other two went well. I don't recall the guide's name but she was a blond lady and hardly sang at all. Mumbled a lot too. I have a group coming at the end of January that was planning on taking the trip but I have very hesitant now. Definitely don't want that lady. If she gets to read this, she needs to sing a lot more on the tour. They hand out instruments to all the guests for a stinkin' reason. It was a 1:30 tour on Dec 29th. Very frustrated that I built the experience up to my family only to be let down. If not for the other two experiences, I would rate this much lower if not for the prior experiences.

Interactive and Fun tour

I took the Mojo Tour. It was very entertaining and informative, the bus, the sites, instruments and musician on the bus are unique and make the tour fun. The only thing that I would suggest is a little fact checking, our guide seemed a little hostile against Motown and misstated that Aretha Franklin was a Motown artist, when yes she grew up in Detroit but she was never a Motown recording artist. But Iwoukd definitely recommend, had a great time!

Memphis Jones is quite talented, had us all singing along, knowledgeable about Memphis music history, and humorous in his delivery. Linda and I are so glad we hopped aboard.
