Dont Miss the Mojo Tour with Kathryn

The Mojo Bus Tour was the highlight of our three day trip to Memphis! Our tour guide was Kathryn Brawley who educated us on the music and history of Memphis and it's colorful characters. Kathryn also performed a number of songs in between sharing facts and legends of this great town. She is a talented musician and singer and expert on Memphis. There is much to see and do in Memphis including Graceland, Sun Studios, National Civil Rights Museum at the Lorraine Motel, and the Stax Museum of Soul. Add in great food and the Beale Street music scene, it's a great place for a long weekend. The Mojo bus tour tied it all together and Kathryn as an entertaining and delighful host!

This is a musical tour of Memphis - the tour guide is a musician who plays instruments and sings songs by early Memphis artists. Very entertaining. I enjoyed the tour.

Awesome Trip

From the moment we met the guide at the ticket office it was fun (i can't remember his name, it might have been Joe, he was a music student who wanted his own music studio). Anyhow, he enthusiastically entertained and informed us all along this trip even his jokes were not that bad even though he denied this. Those who wanted to play along were given tambourines-shakers and bongo drums to join in with the songs.

Overall i would recommend this trip to anyone of all ages. You will not be disappointed.

The tour is about the musical history of Memphis. Even thought I grew up in Memphis, most of the information was new to me. The best part of the experience is the singing of the tour guide as he illustrated the musical tradition. All of us thought this tour was worth the time and the cost.

My husband and I were disappointed to find ourselves trapped on a bus with a want-to-be country singer who seemed more concerned with her unsuccessful singing career than providing relevant info. for the tour. We found ourselves trying to figure out what we were supposed to be seeing and where it was while the "guide" either kept singing or blabbing about some inconsequential event that happened to her or her sister. The driver didn't stop when guide was talking about specifics, or worse yet, she started telling us what we had just PASSED. Overall it was hardly a "tour" and more like the amatuer hour with a captive audience. Definitely would not recommend.

Expected more in the line of music. More Blues.

I expected more about the Blues history in Memphis and a lot less about Elvis, whom I'm not a big fan of anyway.I'm more about R&B and Blues. Elvis was a white boy trying to do black music and I don't think he did a very good job of it. He was way overated only because he was white, but so am I. I wouldn't do this trip again unless there was a Blues trio or something like that on the bus. For what you charged me to go on this tour, I think we got ripped off. My $.02 worth.

It was very entertaining. Memphis Jones was an awesome tour guide. I was laughing or singing almost the entire time. This tour is a must for anyone who visits Memphis. The Jones is very knowledgeable, and pointed out all of the Memphis "must-sees." It's a great time.

First of all Memphis was one of the most beautiful, friendly, affordable and cultural cities we've visited on our 6-week tour of the U.S. The tour was an excellent start of our two day visit. We were exposed to the basic culture and history of the city by the most entertaining and passionate tour guide. His singing and running commentary was upbeat and possitive. I would recommend this tour to all.

The tour was great. You start off on Beale st., which may be the most musical and fun street in the country, and it only gets better from there. Our guide, Gary, gave us a historically musical tour along with the visual tour of Memphis. He has actually worked with some of the great musicians of Memphis and still s to performs on Beale st. He gave us all the inside stuff on various stars while pointing out where many of them grew up. I highly recommend this tour.

Mojo is a Memphis Must

Backbeat Tour's Memphis Mojo bus tour was an entertaining and enjoyable way to see Memphis. Nancy Apple, our knowledgeable and talented tour guide, serenaded us as we traveled all over Memphis in their vintage tour bus. History and points of interests come alive, whether it was the Civil War's Battle of Memphis or BB King's struggle to make it on Beale Street.
