Very nice and informative.

Our tour guide, James was very nice and informative as we traveled through the mangroves. He plucked marine life out of the water and was very knowledgeable. It was a good work out as well since I haven't kayaked in 2 years. My 12 year old daughter enjoyed it as well. Highly recommended.

very expensive, I would have liked to choose better offers with better prices. It was a different experience anyway.

Awesome Adventure!

I don't know how romantic it was, but we absolutely loved it! It was Indiana Jones, Jungle Boat Cruise, and Wild Kingdom all wrapped up into to one package. We learned a lot and the kids really loved putting on the head lamps and exploring. I was skeptical on what sea life we would actually see and I was blown away! Our guide was great and went out of his way to ensure the kids got to see all sorts of creatures. I would recommend this adventure to families with kids and a sense of adventure. Our children were 9 and 6 and we got two tandem kayaks. It was the prefect experience that they are still talking about.

My husband and I had our own private tour with James as our tour guide under the Full Moon. It was absolutely a night to remember. James was a total professional, enthusiastic and so kind. He took so much time to point out all the creatures in the air and sea. The horseshoe crab, the huge starfish, the beautiful spiny lobster, all the beautiful birds, etc. etc. We will absolutely enjoy this tour again on our next visit.

Sarah was fantastic! We booked this as an alternative to the standard Kayak tour as we thought kayaking at night would be fun and different. We were not disappointed. We ended up being the only people on the tour, so we were able to have our guide Sarah to ourselves. She was very knowledgeable about the local environment and very relaxed and fun. We saw some very interesting animals and were able to kayak in some unique settings, including through mangrove stands- and the night kayaking was very peaceful. We especially liked the different things you see at night from the kayaks. Watch out for the jumping fish. We highly recommend this tour.

Saw many creatures and heard all about them. Enjoyed the beauty of the water, the mangrove trees, and the narrow paths we paddled along. Guide was well informed and passionate about his work.

My husband and I took the Boca Chica excursion. He was a bit hesitant but really ended up enjoying it. Katie, our guide, was outstanding. She was extremely well informed about the habitat we went through and was very enthusiastic about sharing her knowledge.

This tour was not the slightest bit taxing and is appropriate for anyone--no experience was necessary.

I highly recommend this tour to anyone considering it, and again, Katie was an excellent guide.

Interesting but would have liked to see more

Our guide was great and obviously enjoyed sharing his love of the area and the sea creatures but it would have been nice to have covered more ground and see a bit more of the area. We spent a lot of time looking down in the shallows for sea life and talking about some of the sea creatures. Not quite as we expected and it seemed to drag on at times. We had recently gone on a guided kayak tour in the Everglades which was much more interesting and we saw a lot more territory.

Interesting and Enjoyable Kayak Trip

The trip was led by a very friendly and knowledgeable guide. The pace was fine. The highlight was Bird Island, which we never would have seen or known about had we not been on this trip. Participants should be in decent shape, because two-and-a-half hours of paddling takes a toll.

Unique experience for any nature lovers

One of the few eco-tours that delivers what is advertised.

This is a physical activity which involves being on the open water and inside mangrove islands after dark, so may not be suitable for everyone (although I am sure that if necessary Chad would adjust the tour to the expectations and abilities of different groups).

A wonderful time

My wife and I are avid kayakers at our cottage in Manitoba, and thoroughly enjoyed our tour in February. The guide showed us an amazing variety of birds and vegetation up close, and fished out (and returned to the water unharmed) sea life such as starfish and spiny sea urchins for us to examine. The tour accommodated people who'd never kayaked before, yet we didn't feel held back. We explored the mangrove swamp through a narrow, shallow creek, and we had time on the open water of the Atlantic Ocean, where we had some opportunity to open up and paddle at our normal pace. There was a significant amount of time in which we all linked up, holding on to each other's kayaks, or just floated in calm water, while the guide pointed things out.

BluePlanet was terrific value, and the kayaks themselves were first class, what we were used to at home.

I was surprised that flotation devices weren't mandatory --- much of the route was very shallow, but there was also deep and open water. The rendezvous arrangements to meet at a mall in Key West and drive in convoy to the launch site, with no waiting for stragglers, felt a bit rigid, but we would likely have gotten lost trying to find it on our own. A map would have helped, had we lost the convoy at a traffic light. And booking through a ticket agency, with no refund for bad weather's cancelling the tour, only a future credit, left us feeling nervous.

But overall a fabulous time, to go in minutes from the open ocean to the interior of the mangrove swamp, when our own lake back home was frozen solid.

I would also recommend Bill's Big Pine Kayak Adventures, a similar tour we'd done two days before out of nearby Big Pine Key. The two tours were a nice balance --- with Bill's, my wife and I were alone with the guide on a very cool day, spending far more time in a different mangrove swamp about 20 miles away, and having a longer open water paddle on what was essentially the Gulf of Mexico. Experienced kayakers would be very happy to do both tours on the same trip to the Florida Keys.

This was a fantastic experience for someone hesitant to explore the unknown without a guide. It was my friend's first time kayaking, and although I've kayaked before, I would never have ventured out into the Bay and into the Mangroves on my own. Our guide was very patient, and also very knowledgable, pointing out all sorts of life, above and below the water, that we never would have noticed. Another BIG plus was the pick-up service. We didn't have a car that day and probably wouldn't have been able to take the tour if the shuttle service wasn't offered. Our driver was friendly, courteous and prompt. Zerve was very helpful also. We wanted to confirm that transportation was available before we confirmed booking, and they provided contact information for us. Our guide called us back promptly, confirmed we could be picked up, we called back Zerve and booked the trip for the next day. Overall, a great experience. Probably not for the experienced sea kayaker, but if this is something you always wanted to try, or want to try kayaking in a new spot, this tour can't be beat. Highly recommend!

Awesome experience!

We were not sure what to expect even though we have gone kayaking previously. However, we got more than expected with the fabulous scenery and our guide's knowledge. We were taken through the mangroves which proved very scary yet intreaging. The provided head lamps allowed us to see wonderful luminescent sealife not seen during the day. At dusk we paddled around a fabulous nighttime resting area for a variety of large birds such as pelicans, ospreys, great white herons and frigatebirds. To see them this close up was truly awe inspiring.

This was the best adventure we had of all the many things we didin the Keys. We would be the first to recommend the trip, guide and especially Blue Planet for being as ecologically responsible yet still provide an exciting adventure. Truly a winner!
