I enjoyed the trip. This was my second trip with Chad and I would come back for a third! Very nice experience and I have learned new things on both trips.

The Boca Chica tour was great fun. Our guide Sara was very accomodating and knowledgable, and was able to point out a variety of marine life. The trip throuhg the mangrove forest was relaxing and peaceful, and this was a highlight of our trip. We can't wait to go back for another.

We really enjoyed our execusrion. The kayaks are a great way to see the gulf side of the keys, the mangroves were our favorite part. The guide was knowledgeable and took his time explaining the area. We learned a lot and enjoyed the paddle. We would recommend this company and trip.

A good break from the touristy things

I would recommend this to anyone looking for a change of pace from the usual touristy things to do in Key West. You get an up close look at the nature surrounding the islands which you probably would not have otherwise. The tour guides are in tune with the environment and are very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend this.

We are a family of 4 with two 6 year old twin boys. We were really excited about this trip and overall had an ok/good time but definetely disappointed. First of all the guide James was obnoxious, condesending and did seemed to not want to be doing his job. I was expecting to see a lot of fish and other wild life. We saw very little. James did not try to make it fun and did not seem to enjoy children. Usually people find my boys entertaining so even if it was a bad viewing day, with our boys it should be very fun. The boys later on said it was kind of boring and too long.

I would not do this trip again.

Awesome! Romantic! Amazing! Fun! Wow!

I have been kayaking before, but my husband never had been. He was slightly nervous--but he needn't have been! Chad was fantastic! he put my husband at ease and his patience, relaxation, and simple instructions had my husband acting as a natural. My husband enjoyed it so much that he is dying to go again!

We loved everything about our experience and have been telling all of our friends and family. We loved the beautiful scenary and the relaxation of being on the water at night. Chad made the experience fun and exciting, while keeping the calm and romantic element. We loved seeing sharks, sting rays, lobsters, shrimp, fish and these fantastic worms that were illuminescent. Its amazing to see the sparks and underwater nightlife of the bacteria and to watch the spark follow your kayak paddle. We saw so many birds, so much wild-life. We really loved paddling through the mangroves and loved having the headlamps so that we could see everything around us.

The whole experience was fantastic! I have been kayaking numerous times, but this is by far one of my most favorite times. I would recommend it to everyone and everyone!

Definately bring bug spray as the bugs are nasty little buggers after dark!

Nice, leisurely tour

My son and I had a really nice time. The guide was super. She gave us a lot of information about the local flora and fauna. If I had it to do again, my son and I would get the one-person kayaks, not the two-person. It was difficult to coordinate with two people, and even the inexperienced kayakers did fine in the single boats. It was great fun!

good trip leader a must

We took this eco- tour in 2014 and loved it. Our 2014 trip leader was very informative, friendly and knew the marine life and eco-systems. However, our 2015 kayaking trip was totally different. The trip leader had us just paddle around the mangroves. If we had questions, he would reluctantly answer them and only very briefly. The only good thing in 2015 was the nice weather.

Highlight of Our Visit
Mon, Apr 14, 14   6:45 PM mdhurst Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
This surprise activity was the highlight of out visit to Key West. James was thorough with explanation and finding critters to see and touch. We quickly got the hang of paddling which allowed us to enjoy our surroundings and we covered lots of water. (No sore arms the next day!) We highly recommend the sunset trip and the full moon was spectacular. The sounds were ever changing with the slight breeze. Going into the mangrove was was a little scary and very exciting. The trip was much more interesting and fun than what was expected.

Really loved being out on the water, looking for big fish in the open water and little sea critters in the mangroves. The mangroves themselves were really cool. Our guide was friendly and knowledgable. We were picked up off the pier where our ship was booked, so it couldn't be more convenient. Highly recommended for people who are looking for a different experience, and like to be out doing something active (but not onerous), and learning about nature.

Loved seeing the wildlife

You'd never know what was underneath you in the water until Chad pulls up the most wonderful "critters" from the bottom of the bay...All different kinds of sea creatures to see and touch. We also enjoyed seeing all the feathered friends above the water that are roosting in the trees at sunset...and speaking of the sunset...a lovely view from sea level. Be prepared to get a little wet from paddle drips.

Just a pleasant day on the water

We thought that the Boca Chica Kayak Tour really represented the scene at Key West.

We started from the back of a taxi repair depot at the edge of a commercial lobster fishing dock and set out into a fast moving channel. Our guide, Chris, was very easy going and guided our kayaks across the moving tide easily keeping sure that our boats did not go too shallow or get caught in the strong tide. Once in the bay we saw starfish, tarpon, sponges, crabs, urchin, and a few other fishes as well as several heron, egrit, osprey, all pointed out or temporarily captured by Chris for our handing pleasure. Oh, we saw four F-18 Hornets from the NAB nearby.

Our guide also new much about local habitat, laws, science of the ecosystem, and the people living in the bay. We learned much about the area while we paddled through the mangroves or across the open channel. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves, and plan to take the evening tour our next trip down.

The sunset eco tour was a great time, enjoyed by my brothers and 70-yr-old dad alike. Chad did a nice job of pointing out the local wildlife and providing interesting info on the unique South Florida ecosystem. Sometimes a little hard to hear, but overall very nice presentation. Seemed to be well-organized. Nice touch to pick us up at our hotel for no extra fee. We were blessed with an amazing sunset on our tour, which made our photos turn out great. Appreciated the bags to keep our cameras, etc. dry while kayaking. I've been on kayak tours before where they tell you not to bring cameras, and you really miss out on some great pics. I would certainly recommend to anyone planning a trip to Key West.
