The tour was just the right amt of time and the guide was very knowledgeable. We saw many cool things and she was allowed us to hold some of them. The driver of the pick up van was courteous. I would recommend this tour to anyone and do it again myself.

I would highly recommend going on the Boca Chica Kayak Tour. My friends and I had an awesome time and were able to see and touch all sorts of cool creatures! Our guide was very informative and fun! There are so many amazing things to see on this tour, definitely check it out!

Made Key West stay memorable
Wed, Jul 13, 11   7:15 PM LINDSAYPINZ Female 50-59 International Tourist(s) Family With Children
I would highly recommend this trip to families with teenagers visiting Key West - always a difficult age group to please but the wildlife encounter- conch, sea cucumber etc fascinated them. One or 2 tips- don't wear a thin running vest like my son did- the mosquitoes bite you through the fabric! And a bit of constructive feedback for the guide- what he said was interesting, but even in a group of 4, he needs to wait til the last person is close up before he starts talking. Missed a lot of it. But overall, highly recommend this. It made our Key West trip memorable

A good short trip for Inexperienced kayakers

The Blue Planet Kayak team were friendly and helpful and delivered exactly what they promised. The free door to door transportation was an excellent added convenience. Andy was a knowledgeable guide who looked out for everyone, with tips on technique and precautions. He knew the area and the creatures in the environment and was able to answe all of our questions well. Thanks for a great experience!

non-expericenced to experienced kayakers

We added the kayaking tour to our "Girls" Weekend adventure in Key West. In our group of 6, experience varied from 1st timers to experienced. Sarah, our guide, was terrific! Had great knowledge of the area, never boring and was very patient with our group when some needed a little extra guidence with the kayaks!! The tour became one of the highlights of our weekend trip! I recommend it to anyone going to the Keys! Great exercise (but not too much), great way to see some of the island by water and a beautiful sunset! Highly recommend!

Pedantic Guide
Mon, Apr 18  10:30 AM libertyjake Male 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Our guide seemed to enjoy talking to our group as if we were children. He also made a snide comment about where we were staying on Key West. The tour was meandering and he didn't communicate clearly where we were headed so there was a lot of wasted effort correcting course, etc. There are several other companies on KW that offer kayaking tours and we will check them out next time instead.

Vigorous Exercise and Romance All In One...
Wed, Jul 25, 12   7:15 PM Lguevarez Female 50-59 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Okay the bad part of the activity is as the boyfriend who is 6'8" and 265lbs the kayak was not comfortable for the time spent in it. A canoe is much more of a fit. That being said, we did enjoy the adventure. We love being immersed in Nature. The guide is knowledgeable and competent. We would recommend to anyone wanting a little adventure while visiting Key West.

One of the most fun things we've ever done. Our tour guide was so great and so knowledgable about all of the marine life. We can't belive how many different things we saw. The red mangroves were so amazing!...the sandbars were too cool. Thanks so much for offering the shuttle service too...it was so convenient, especially afterwards because we were tired from so much fun in the sun. We would definitely book another kayak trip through blueplanet..maybe next time the sunset trip! :) Love & Regards from Detroit, MI ~Lisa & Chris

Good but too long
Wed, Aug 6, 08   10:30 AM leonardianne Female 30-39 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
I took the tour with my husband and 2 children (age 16 and 10). We didn't see nearly the animals we thought we would see; a few birds, a couple of manta rays, some fish but nothing like we thought. The tour was supposed to be 2.5 hours it ended up being around 3 hours, way too long for our kids. We were ready to head back after hour 1 because the tour guide talked and talked and talked and we didn't really have a chance to ask anything or even think about what he was saying because he would go on and on about another topic. It was in a word, exhausting. It was fun to go through the mangroves and to see the house boats but really this is not a tour for children or anyone under the age of 18. If you are athletic and you don't mind the hard work and you are lower to middle age this tour is for you. But if you have children go ahead and pass, there's so many more things that would benefit them on the island besides this tour.

Fabulous!

My husband and I were among a small group of 6 people; we were guided through the mangroves on a morning trip. It was really wonderful and if our schedule permitted we would have returned for the night tour.

My only disappointment was that I couldn't always hear the tour guide because our group spread out and the guide wasn't always near enough to hear what he had to say. The mangroves were really wonderful, we saw fish, crabs, birds, sea urchins, aquatic plants, etc. It was our first trip to the Keys; when we return we will definitely want to take another tour with Blue Planet.

I recommend Blue Planet kayak tours to anyone interested in getting close to the mangroves, and learning more about ecosystem that they are part of. The Blue Planet staff were friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, they provided transportation to the site and back, all for a very reasonable price. A great trip!

Fun day on the water, just be selective on the day
Mon, Oct 6, 14   10:30 AM Lcrabtree Male 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We happen to go on a day when the neighboring Navy Base was having maneuvers, so lots of loud jets overhead that limited the amount of wildlife.

beautiful day!

My husband and I had never kayaked before, so we were looking forward to the day. Our guide, Chris, was very knowledgable about the history of the area and the sea life, marine life, and bird life we witnessed that day. He set a pace that was both comfortable and enjoyable. We were able to choose either tandem or single kayaks. Although I was concerned that being on the water from 10:30am til 1:00pm might be too hot a time to be out, the wind and intermittent shade from kayaking close to the shore helped to make it very comfortable. It helped to make our trip to Key West unforgetable!
