We went out with Sarah as guide and as luck would have it, we were the only two on the trip. Sarah was a great guide and we saw interesting wildlife. The octupus was the highlight.

We had a great time touring the coastal area of northeast Key West. The guide's knowledge was thorough & he provided a lot of background detail about the area & those that live there. Our favorite part was padding among the mangroves (sp?) - great fun!

It was my first time kayaking and it turned out to be great. Our guide was excellent in guiding us through the area in small groups. It was interesting to look at the mangroves up close. Along the way, we saw and held sea urchin, starfish, and a few other creatures. The kayaking activity itself was great but somewhat disappointed in the floura and faunas that I expected to see.

Loved everything about this trip!

We went kayaking in two doubles. We packed water, but happily accepted more bottles of water when offered more by the co. They offered the whole group extra water because it was so hot and humid the day we went, and they wanted to make sure everyone stayed hydrated. The heat didn't bother us once we were in the mangroves which were beautiful. We were able to see plenty of life on our trip: sea urchin, sea cucumber, lemon shark, nurse shark, sting rays, jellyfish, tree crabs, parrot fish, and a number of different birds. Our guide would use the net to pick up some of the wild life and let us look closely. We were experienced with kayaks, and didn't have any issues. There were some less experienced, and our guide was very helpful with them, and paced so they would be comfortable. We debated on whether to just rent kayaks vs a guided trip. I am so glad that we chose the guided trip. It was very informational, and our guide was able to spot wild life that I know we wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

We were picked up by Andy at our hotel with no issues. He was our guide for the tour and even better it was just myself and my husband. After getting us sorted with our kayaks we quickly set off. The weather was quite windy and the water levels high but the kayaks are very stable and we had no problems paddling. Andy was vey keen to shows us the local critters and wildlife and he readily identified all the birds, fish and other sealife. We happily watched the sunset from the bay then when it got dark Andy issued us with head torches. It was amazing to paddle through the mangroves watching Andy find and pick up starfish, sea cucumbers, sea urchins etc... which he gave to us to hold. We also had a good if nervous laugh with the suicidal fish that flew out the water and almost landed in the kayaks! When we finally got back we saw we had been out for almost 4 hours. Brilliant fun and Andy also offered to stop for us for something to eat on the way back to the hotel. Can't recommend this enough and you should definitely go if you're in the area.

My husband & I really enjoyed our kayaking trip into the mangroves of Boca Chica! Our guide was Sarah who showed us a variety of sea creatures such as sea stars, sea cucumber, some type of anemone & even a baby nurse shark. With the exception of the nurse shark, she scooped each creature up & let us all hold it while she provided information about it. Very hands on! The scenery was beautiful and even though paddling through the mangroves could prove a little tricky for those of us less experienced paddlers we never felt rushed. When one member of the group proceeded to fall into the ocean ( as he was trying to stand-up paddle his kayak) Sarah was quick to come to his aid & he was safely back in his kayak & we were back on route. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience & we would both recommend it to others as well as participate again ourselves if ever back in Key West.

The tour was very nice. We were able to see several of the mangroves natural inhabitants. I would definitely recommend this tour to those experienced with a kayak and a desire to see some creatures you'd normally not find on your own. The only downside would be if you are in a large group and some of the group have not kayaked before. We had a couple who indicated that they had experience but obviously did not. Also, there were about 12 people in the group. That is too large to fully enjoy. Much of the time was moving across the open water and through the mangroves. A lot of time was spent jostling for position to hear the guide and then trying to break apart from the group to keep moving forward. The only other issue was the Full Moon on our tour. It made it impossible to view any of the bioluminescent plankton. That was a bummer. If you have the ability to pick a time without such a bright moon, you may be able to see even more. Overall though, a fun thing to do if you've "done it all" in Key West and if you're adventurous.

The Boca Chica Kayak Marine life tour is an activity you must do while in Key West. Our guide was very friendly and informative. I saw a lot of ocean creatures on our 2 1/2 hour kayak tour, some of which I was able to hold in my hand. I was also fortunate to see dolphins on the kayak tour. I would definitely recommend this trip.

We visited Key West about a year ago and decided to go on this Kayak tour. We chose to go on the daytime tour and it was AMAZING!!! Our guide was so friendly and knowledgeable. He took the time to stop and show us the marine life, give us some very interesting information about everything we came across! I would highly recommend this company!!! Can't wait to go back again and go on their evening/night tour!

We were the last customers of the season, and the only ones who showed up for the event (thank you Irene). Our guide, Chad, was cheerful, a biologist who gave precise but not pedantic descriptions of what we were seeing, especially the many varieties of birds at Rookery Island, the local ecology, and how to maneuver the kayak with minimal effort. Maneuvering the kayak was easy, and got easier throughout the tour. We are both 65, and not athletic, but never felt stressed or worried at any point. Also, no bugs (also thanks, Irene, for the stiff breezes). Not overly hot, few motorboats, quiet. In summary, all positive and nothing negative and no warnings whatsoever.

My family and I had a great time doing the Boco Chica Marine Life Kayak Tour. I was concerned about my parents would are in their mid 60's, but they did great. We plan on going to the Keys again and would like to do another kayak trip.
