A Beautiful Experience!

We had a great time. The experience of night falling as you are out on the water, among the mangroves, is mysterious, beautiful, spiritual, unforgettable. Our guide, Chad, offered a great balance of teaching, humour, friendliness and, from time to time, silence to allow us to drink in the sounds. We did not see a ton of wildlife (it was dark! also the tide was high) but that didn't matter at all, the simple sensation of gliding along in the night in a safe, guided situation was worth everything to us. Thank you!

This was so very cool! First we paddled out to see birds roosting in the mangroves and watch the sun set. Then James, our guide, handed out headlamps, and we paddled through mangrove tunnels and open water in the dark. With the lights, we could see fish, lobsters and shrimp, crabs, and jellyfish. James would catch marine organisms in a net and/or bucket, and pass them around so we could take a look. I got to handle some very cool critters that I'd never heard of before. James knows a lot of fascinating information about the biology and ecology of the area, and is a wonderful and entertaining guide. We lucked out with a combination of low tide and no wind, so your mileage may vary, but I would recommend this trip in a heartbeat. The kayaks are easy to paddle and very stable: I'm not particularly athletic, and I had very little experience kayaking, but I had no trouble keeping up. Dry bags are provided so you can bring your camera and a light jacket if you want.

Kayaking was easier than I thought and allowed me to get close up to view an important area of the sea world.

Our guide was knowledgeable providing us with lots of information about the ecosystem.

Really great tour! It was actually my first time kayaking but our guide Chad gave a quick lesson and that was all I needed. The sunset tour was great because you get to see things in daylight, sunset and at night. I had no idea we'd see so much - sea urchins, starfish, mangroves, bioluminescence just to name of a few things. My boyfriend loved it too. They provide you with waterproof bags to store your belongings, and headlamps for the night portion of the tour.

We opted for hotel pick-up which was super-convenient since it was far from our hotel.

Informative, enjoyable and interesting. Even the pick up and drop off with Andy was interesting. Thanks for returning my blue bottle! I enjoyed the experience so much that I booked another tour for the sunset kayak trip two days later!

I enjoyed the kayak adventure and all of the nature info provided. It was a sunny, warm day so what was not to be enjoyed, I will recommend to my friends coming to KW later this month to do the evening tour. Sounds like more birds and water creatures might be seen. You've got a good thing going. Things were very safe, too.

Best part of Key West Trip!
Sun, Dec 1, 13   4:45 PM luanne43 Female 40-49 Domestic Tourist(s) Family With Children
This was the best part of our Key West trip. The shuttle picked us up and then we kayaked to and thru a mangrove island on Stock Island. We crossed the channel to a bird island where they were all flying in at sunset for the evening...I cannot begin to tell you how many species of birds that flew just feet away from us. And, (before sunset and after dark) the sea life was amazing in the crystal clear waters as well as on the mangrove trees...sting ray, octopus, starfish, sea cucumber, gar, 3 different types of crabs, several types of sponges, all on the serenity of the sea with a super knowledgeable and nice guide, Chad. My 12 year old daughter had her own kayak. Thanks for making our trip even more special...memories we'll never forget and if we're back in the Keys, we'll definitely be a repeat customer.

Nice, leisurely tour

My son and I had a really nice time. The guide was super. She gave us a lot of information about the local flora and fauna. If I had it to do again, my son and I would get the one-person kayaks, not the two-person. It was difficult to coordinate with two people, and even the inexperienced kayakers did fine in the single boats. It was great fun!

This was a great trip! The guides were knowledgable and friendly. The trip was not hard to do, evwn with it only being my second time kayaking. It almost seemed too short even though we were out for over 2 hours. We were able to see a lot of the natural wildlife. Next time I will be sure to do their night tour.
