Tour guide was great. Saw lots of stuff but no stingrays. Very lazy day, weather was the best. All in all the tour was great with a great group of people. Would recommend highly.

I thought this kayak tour was just the mangroves. It turned out it was so much more. The waters were very shallow and we saw star fish, conch, hare, stingray, fish, etc. The guide was also excellent. He gave us knowledge about the mangrove trees and about all the wild life we saw. On my next trip to Key West, I will definitely do this trip again.

Evening in the mangroves

We did this adventure 5 years ago and it was worth the repeat. The guide was better this time, pulling sea creatures out of the bay and passing them around, and rafting the group together so she could give a brief explanation of what was around us. The wind was a bother (15+mph), but it made for a good workout. Remember to bring cash for a tip.

I wish we had seen more wildlife. It was a bit more strenuous than I had thought it would be.
Blue Planet Kayak Tours responded:
It is unfortunate you did not see as much wildlife as hoped for. Conditions such as tide cycle and wind play a singificant role in encountering mobile animals such as fish and birds. Despite protection from the wind provided by the mangroves customers are committing to a 2.5 hr. paddle.

On windy days exposed shallow areas do require more effort and customers should be aware of this. Glad despite these comments your overall experience was positive.

Upclose and full contact with FL nature

Chad's tour through some of the FL Key West mangroves provided an education of the area and afforded us to display how much we could/could not navigate through the mangroves in a tandem kayak. The tour and paddling was an excellent way to see some of the other water and fowl animals. The outting was terrific!!

My sons and I were on your starlight tour in 2006. I came back with wife celebrating our 40th and really enjoyed the tour.

Great guide and great animals.

Our guide, James, was amusing and as a Conch, knew his stuff. He found lots of great marine animals for us to check out. He had stories that were fun, but he also talked seriously about ecological issues. Kayaking in the mangroves was particularly an unforgettable experience, and a wonderful way to experience tropical Florida.

Fun day on the water, just be selective on the day

We happen to go on a day when the neighboring Navy Base was having maneuvers, so lots of loud jets overhead that limited the amount of wildlife.

We had a family group of 12 ranging from 18 to 64. All of us had Kayaked before so we were a bit easier than some groups might be. We wanted as much info as the guide could give us on the wildlife we saw. He was very informed and kept us entertained with the plethora of strange creatures he continued to pull from the waters. It was fun and educational we would go again.

The sunset and moonlight kayak tour by blue planet kayaks was a lot of fun. It's an experience of a lifetime. It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the money. Once the sun went down, it was so peaceful and majestic.

First time kayaking and thoroughly enjoyed it. The guides are very informative of the local sea life and fauna. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the Key’s.
