Great informative time

A couple from Austin,tx. The guide was very informative. We had a great time kayaking around looking, touching, learning and seeing different wildlife. We saw a nurse shark, many sponges, sea star, conchs, urchins, fish, a sea hare that squirted red ink at us. It was awesome.

Tour guide was great. Saw lots of stuff but no stingrays. Very lazy day, weather was the best. All in all the tour was great with a great group of people. Would recommend highly.

Our guide was great. Our driver was great. The tour was a lot of fun! We saw sharks, fantastic birds, got to touch a lot of fascinating sea creatures, and learned about why mangroves are some of the coolest plants around. Perfect for nature lovers of any age.

Best excursion of our trip to Key West!

We're a family with teen and pre-teen boys. Despite parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skis, they all agreed this was the best part of our week in Key West.

The guide was so knowledgeable about the sea life, the area, and astronomy. He answered all of the boys questions and then gave them even more to think about and look up after our adventure.

We ranged in ability from novice to experienced kayakers, and LOVED going through the mangroves. We were able to keep up in open water just fine.

Thanks for a great time!

We will definitely be back on our next trip to the Keys!

Great tour, active but relaxing!

The Sunset and Starlight tour was great. We wanted to get a little bit of activity in, rather than sitting on a tour trolley, and Kayaking was the perfect answer. Meeting at the park by the museum seemed a little shady at first, but the van driver was on-time and friendly, and we arrived at the departure site exactly as planned. James was our guide and was friendly and energetic, and showed us several creatures throughout the trip.

There is quite a bit of paddling to do, and you will get splashed a little by your oars, but it's generally slow going and relaxing as you wind through mangrove islands and pause to watch the sunset. We went in March and it got a little chilly after the sun went down, so a long-sleeve shirt or pants are recommended. The nighttime part of the tour was a very unique experience - paddling the waters by headlamp under the moon and stars are an experience I won't soon forget!

I highly recommend this tour. The guide was very kind and detail oriented while also helping us to navigate our kayaks. He worked very hard to show us points of interest and engaged in educational conversation. I highly recommend this tour.

We very much enjoyed our kayak trip with Blue Planet Kayaks. Boca Chica Key was beautiful. We were able to kayak through a variety of environments including mangrove rivers and tunnels as well as shallow open water. Our guide, Sarah, was very well informed and pointed out many interesting details. She was able to show us lots of different local plant and wildlife. Definitely a highlight of our week in the keys!

We had a perfectly beautiful night and our guide Andy was able to show and tell us so much. It helps that the group size is kept small, so it's easier get up close and see things we never ever would have spotted on our own. We all agreed it was one of the most enjoyable tours we'd ever been on and the best money we'd spent. The highlight of our stay in Key West! I'd highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys and wants to learn more about this beautiful environment.

Guide Sara wasn't that good seemed to kill till didn't explain much about the keys. Was not an Eco tour. Did a lot of rowing in open water. Wasn't what I expected

Blue Planet Kayak Tours responded:
We're glad you enjoyed being on the water. The guide certainly told you all about the red mangroves, how they get fresh water, and their importance within the Keys' ecosystem. Our guides also point out wildlife, picking up what they can, and they give you some facts about any creatures they find. On days when there isn't much wildlife around, a guide might decide to keep quiet and just let you enjoy being out with your friends and family on the water. Though the mangrove creeks take up a good portion of our tour, depending on tides and wind, we usually also paddle across several "flats," which are the most likely areas to see sharks and rays, and through deeper channels, where one might spot tarpon, eagle rays, and other large wildlife. Thanks for joining us!

I thought this kayak tour was just the mangroves. It turned out it was so much more. The waters were very shallow and we saw star fish, conch, hare, stingray, fish, etc. The guide was also excellent. He gave us knowledge about the mangrove trees and about all the wild life we saw. On my next trip to Key West, I will definitely do this trip again.

We were both a little hesitant about a kayak trip but with the direction of our guide, we had nothing to be concerned about. We had alot of fun, and our guide was very knowledgeable.
