Had a great time with the our guide and group we went with. Very interactive and informational. Our Guide made sure everyone got to hear him and touch many creatures or just view such as star fish, sea snail, porcupine creature, sponges. Got to see Jelly fish, shark and shoe-horse crab. Explained about the cycle of the trees and how they became located where they were. I think this a adventure all ages will enjoy!!!

The sunset kayak tour was amazing! James was a great tour guide. He took us through the mangroves and educated us as we went along. He showed us (an actually passed around to the group) a starfish, squid, crab, urchin, lobster, etc. Too many to remember. The sunset on the water was breathtaking. And then continuing in the dark was a true experience. We would highly recommend as it was the highlight of our trip!!

What a wonderful, informative experience. We not only enjoyed this experience and learned a lot about uncommon water-life, but also had the opportunity to experience unique night-time fauna in a safe setting. Was loved by all. Thanks!

The sunset/starlight kayak tour with Blue Planet kayaking was an incredible way to experience the natural beauty of Key West. My brother and I are both in our twenties, and we took our parents on this kayak trip for their first time kayaking. Everyone had a wonderful time. The duration (2.5 hours) and time of day were perfect. As the sun went down, the changing colors in the sky were gorgeous. After sundown, myriad stars filled the sky. I especially enjoyed paddling through the mangrove forests in the dark, with only the lights of our headlamps to guide the way. Our tour guide was James, and he shared his wealth of knowledge on sea life in the Florida keys. He did an amazing job finding wildlife, too. We saw a number of sea birds, manatees, sharks, sea cucumbers, starfish, crabs, lobsters, octopi, sea cucumbers, and even the light of bioluminescent bacteria at the sea floor. We were even able to handle some of the species! It was a blast! I would recommend this kayak tour to anyone of any age who can appreciate some quiet time with nature.

You guys are why we do what we do at Blue Planet. What an outstanding, informative review!

Many folks neglect to mention the spectacular colors of the the sky and the stars we often see. You were lucky to spot manatees, although they have been hanging around as of late.

Hope you come back soon!

Happy trails.

My husband & I debated taking a guided tour vs doing our own thing. Finally opted for the tour & were so glad we did. Andy was our guide & he was so knowledgeable. His easy demeanor was really appreciated. He pointed out Eagle Rays, baby hammerhead sharks, nurse sharks, sponges, and sea urchins. He also took us through mangroves and explained how they use & process salt water. So informative! All in all we would highly recommend this tour. Out of the way & off the beaten path. You won't be disappointed:)

We went kayaking in two doubles. We packed water, but happily accepted more bottles of water when offered more by the co. They offered the whole group extra water because it was so hot and humid the day we went, and they wanted to make sure everyone stayed hydrated. The heat didn't bother us once we were in the mangroves which were beautiful. We were able to see plenty of life on our trip: sea urchin, sea cucumber, lemon shark, nurse shark, sting rays, jellyfish, tree crabs, parrot fish, and a number of different birds. Our guide would use the net to pick up some of the wild life and let us look closely. We were experienced with kayaks, and didn't have any issues. There were some less experienced, and our guide was very helpful with them, and paced so they would be comfortable. We debated on whether to just rent kayaks vs a guided trip. I am so glad that we chose the guided trip. It was very informational, and our guide was able to spot wild life that I know we wouldn't have noticed otherwise.

The tour guide was amazing and very enthusiastic about nature and showing us around. He did not seem upset that we were complete novice at kayaking and got stuck a few times. I would recommend this for an evening. It is a blast.

Our group had a blast! Andy was incredibly knowledgeable and you could tell he truly enjoys his job. His passion for the environment and sea life rubbed off on all of us. This tour was the highlight of our first trip to Key West, even over Dry Tortugas. We will definitely do it again!

The setting couldn't be better and our tour guide James was amazing. The sunset was beautiful and the birds, mangroves and sea life were incredible. He showed us all sorts of interesting creatures and we learned so much. Fun, relaxing, and educational all at once. Our entire family loved it. Well worth it.

Of all the activities we did over the two weeks we spent in Key West, this kayak tour was one of my favorites. The guide (James!) was able to find a bunch of different animals in the wild, doing their own thing, and pull them up with a net or a plastic bowl so we could get an up close look. This company has been here 15 years so they know what cool animals to look for and how to catch them safely (and return them, of course). On our tour we found an injured comorant, and tried to do a bird rescue. We came back the next night for the sunset tour, and it was also great.
