Washingtonians for almost two decades, Boomerang’s founders loved taking advantage of all the unique events DC had to offer throughout the years. They realized, however, that safe & affordable transportation was seriously missing from DC’s exciting atmosphere, and an idea was born!  After much planning and preparation, Boomerang Tours opened durng the spring of 2006.

Quickly becoming a favorite thing for locals in the know, Boomerang added a bus to its fleet each year (including a limo) while increasing its list of nightlife and excursion event offerings throughout the DC area.

Once it was established that Boomerang was here to stay, the founders decided it was time to make a splash by working on a new project which resulted in the Boomerang Boat!  Opening in the spring of 2012, their vessel has provided a variety of unique cruises on the Potomac River by incorporating live DJs, nautical cocktails, gorgeous sunsets, and panoramic views of our nation’s best monuments.

It wasn’t long before plans for a second ship began to develop! Spring forward to April of 2013, and the Boomerang Pirate Ship was born! With fire engine red sleek paint and the sails blowing in the wind, this powerful vessel was custom built as an addition to the ever growing Boomerang fleet.  Providing family fun treasure hunt cruises during the day, along with their signature party cruises at night, the Pirate Ship has been providing endless memories ever since!

So, welcome aboard! Our reliable drivers, experienced captains, friendly crew, enthusiastic hosts, and fearless pirates are thrilled to meet you for an adventure like none other!

Attended: Daytime Party Cruise on the Boomerang Yacht

First off I received an email the Friday before my cruise on Sunday in which I was told that the boat we had received seats on had unplanned maintenance and as a result we were being switched to the pirate ship. The ship was adequate at best. There really wasn't much to do on the ship, the drinks were overpriced, and the entertainment was dependent on how the group you were with created the fun. The scenery was beautiful, not so much the boat.

Great to entertain out of town guests!

Attended: Daytime Party Cruise on the Boomerang Yacht

We did the party yacht when several of my college friends came into town from Ohio. It was the perfect combination of sightseeing DC and fun. The DJ was very good- the bartenders were fast and friendly and the drinks were reasonably priced. Although we loved being in the sun, I do wish there had been some shaded area because the day we went it was almost 90 degrees and we were basically in the direct sun for 3 hours. However, the boat was nice and it wasn't too crowded. We did play a fun game of limbo which was quite entertaining. I have already recommended to friends in the area and would love to try some of the other options!

Pirates Aboard!

Attended: Family Fun Treasure Hunt Sightseeing Cruise!

Although my son enthusiastically enjoyed the voyage, when presented with the electronic receipt indicating prior payment of $10 for the children's bag, I was tersely told that my receipt meant nothing and that if I wanted my son to have the bag I would have to pay the $10. Not to disappoint my little pirate I paid your PIRATE the $10 which I am reasonably sure went right into his wallet! As a result, although I would say that the concept is wonderful for children, to be taken by a PIRATE is an insult morally and ethically!

We took my 7 year old niece and 4 year old nephew and they loved it! The staff was excellent and the children were entertained the entire time. This is a must when visiting DC with kids!

Friends made the experience fun

The main issue I have is that the power went out about mid-way through the cruise. No one informed us about what was happening or what to expect.

Also, I was never able to make it upstairs because it only held 34 people.
