Very informative

My 12 year old daughter and I really enjoyed our walking tour. It was almost like a private tour - we just had one other couple on our tour. Alan was full of different factoids that some we knew and others we didn't. we definitely felt we knew Boston's history a little better and felt more confident exploring more of Boston on our own.

Excellant tour - we learned a lot.

The guide was very knowledgeable and we learned a great deal about the Jewish history in Boston we didn't know. The tour geographically requires stamina because of the hilly climb on Beacon Hill. We were a group of four and the guide so it was intimate and informal. We really liked it and wished we could have know about the tour sooner.

Great Tour With a Local

Alan was engaging and knowledgeable. The type of interesting facts that you only get from a tour and don't find in guide or history books. Customized the tour for our family. Provided suggestions for other sites to see and things to do and tips for the other outings that we had planned for our visit.

Our guide was very personable and full of much knowledge while on the tour. He presented the information in an interesting way, answered all questions in a friendly manner and was very helpful with travel questions around Boston after the tour was complete.

My grandson loves history and he said he learned a lot from the guide. The pace of walking was good and the guide was great. I would recommend a morning walk (we did) because it gets crowded later in the day.

Great Jewish Tour of Downtown Boston

Our guide Alan, was knowledgeable and informative. He gave us a great tour of Boston's Jewish Heritage and what was especially important was that he put the Jews of Boston in the context of the City of Boston and its many immigrant groups.

Tour is highly recommended!

This is my second tour with this company. Our guide, Alan, had a wealth of knowledge to share about nearly anything we had questions about. It's obvious that he loves this work and the city and his enthusiasm was contagious. We had a great time and highly recommend it!

History, Architecture, and Culture

I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone and everyone visiting the Boston area. It was my first time to Boston, and the walking tour was the perfect way to experience the history and culture of the city. The tour also helped me become acquainted with the geographically small city. For that reason, I recommend the tour earlier rather than later in your stay. During the tour we visited several historical sites and were offered a vast array of historical, architectural, and cultural pieces of information along the way. We ended the tour in Quincy market: the perfect stopping point with a wide variety of shops and restaurants located adjacent to the harbor. Allen, our tour guide, was also very knowledgeable and engaging. Five stars!

Good tour under difficult circumstances

In spite of the fact that much of the tour was in a downpour, we all thought it was interesting and enjoyable. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and very pleasant, with a wealth of informative and amusing tidbits. My only complaint is that the tour was light on Jewish history although that is what we signed up for. The fact that the Vilna Schull was closed (not the tour guide's fault - he in fact informed us about this we'll beforehand) certainly didn't help.

My wife and I were visiting Boston for the first time and wanted a walking tour to make our introduction to the city easier, more enjoyable and informative. Alan's tour fit the bill perfectly. He met us when and where he said he would and then took us on a great tour of the city. He was charming, full of great information and fun to be with. I wouldn't consider another guide. We were absolutely delighted.
