Short, Creepy
Tue, Apr 14  10:00 PM Male 20-29 Domestic Tourist(s) Couple on a Date
Attended: The Charleston Haunted Jail Tour
The tour last right around 45 minutes. About 10 are spent outside with some historical tidbits and the spot where the gallows once stood. After that you head inside for a tour of the building. The tour guide really makes or breaks the experience, if you've got a good one, expect to be frightened. There are no cheap thrills or actors means to scare you, which I liked because that would've cheapened the experience. The place is creepy enough on its own with just the stories and the aura this building emits. We didn't have anything paranormal on our tour occur, but I don't doubt that there is something going on within the walls of this building.

The guide was enthusiastic, entertaining, easy to understand and follow (physically and verbally).

Great place - it is spooky and the stories are gruesome.

Guide drew you into the stories and made the experience more real.

We walked to the old jail at 8:30 or so and it was a pretty creepy neighborhood to begin with. It was a very informative tour of the jail and my kids loved hearing the history of it.

Attended: The Charleston Stroll - A Walk with History Tour
Our tour guide, John, was exceptional. His knowledge of Charleston history was impressive and he shared personal stories that made the area come alive. He was friendly and quickly put our diverse group at ease. The pace of the tour was very reasonable and John was very considerate of the needs of all in the group. John also gave us several outstanding restaurant recommendations . Anyone looking for an engaging introduction to Charlestpn is strongly advised to take this tour.

Overall I really enjoyed the food tour. It was a great way to learn a lot about the history of Charleston and also taste some food along the way. I was worried about not filling full afterwards, but everyone on the tour was really stuffed! It was a good variety of food (apps, main, and dessert) plus it was nice to meet others in the group and hear about where they were from. My only critic is that the tour guide could be a little long winded and almost went into too much detail about the food/history when most of us were just excited to try things. Would recommend this tour though.
