Awesome tour!

My wife and I cannot thank Scott of Dearly Departed Tours enough for the superb tour his company provided. It’s our firm belief that based on everything we saw, all of the things he especially pointed out, and the late 1960s culture he recreated for us that he does not charge enough for this tour. If you want a taste of Hollywood (both the light and dark side) and 1960s era rock and roll history, take this tour!

This tour was amazing! So informational, extremely interesting and so much fun! Our tour guide, Scott, was funny and provided us with all the information we needed and wanted to know. You can tell he is so passionate about it, and the guests definitely feed off of his energy. I was very pleased with the amount of places that we looked out and loved the combination of music, video, and talking that was incorporated. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends and I can't wait to go on another Dearly Departed tour!!!!

This was a very interesting tour. Some history I didn't know about the crimes was learned and some of the history about the crimes supports some of my views on the crime. I wouldn't call it fun as such but had a great time!

Great tour guide. Thanks Scott

Very enjoyable and fact-filled, Scott is an excellent tour guide and kept us informed and interested at all times, no mean feat for a tour that needs over 3 hours to do the subject justice. Pitched at the right level for Manson experts as well as those less familar with the story.Highly recommended, and we hope to be back!

The best tour I've ever taken on a vacation!

I may be a little overly enthustiastic due to my fascination with the Manson Family, but this was the most friendly facinating, and fact filled tour I've ever taken. Scott Michaels who personally hosted the tour was a gentlemen and class act. He really knows his facts about the area. I was slightly skeptical asking my mother and sisters to join me on the Helter Skelter tour at my prompting, but they really enjoyed it and even thanked me for finding this gem of tour in the L.A. area. The Helter Skelter tour should not to be missed if you have the slightest interest in the 60's scene in California, tragic Hollywood, rock stars, and the Manson Family. Thanks again Scott!

Big Mistake

I think he should start from where he ended & back-track to give the people on the bus a better understanding of what happened back then.

I left the tour confused about what I had seen.

Scott is very passionate and knowlegable about this case. I especially liked visiting the sites and the tidbits of information not readily available from other sources that he provides.

The van is very comfortable and clean, the tour guide is the actually star of the document "6 degrees of helter skelter" and he is such a great host. There is so much history and strange irony that weI learned in this tour. We really liked that they play sound bites of the music of that era, and you get to see actually news footage as it really happened. There is so much to say about this very intriguing tour. Also you feel so welcomed when you enter their establishment. They really make you feel very appreciated as a guest in their house, so to speak. Thank you Dearly Departed Tours and all 4 of our group feel the same way. A++

Excellent Tour. Scott really knows the history, back story and gossip from the period in question. His friendly mannerisms and unique style of story telling made for a fabulous tour. Our only regret is that we could not get out of the van to take pictures....we were restricted to taking pictures from the van which really was a bummer....but all in all, a great experience.

So first of all let me just say that Scott is incredible and never ending wealth of information on all things related to this case, Hollywood history, and many many other fascinating things. We had a group of 9 on a bachelorette party this weekend and although 3 of them had already been on this tour previously they enjoyed it even more than the first time. He gave different information, included a few more sites and basically tries to make your experience the best it can be. Although this tour isn't for everyone, I think most people who are generally interested in this case or just in how people lived and died in hollywood would enjoy it. I've been on the tragical history tour as well and LOVED that one just as much. You can't go wrong with this company and you absolutely get your money's worth. The bottom line is if you're on the fence about going this tour is SO much better than any other Hollywood "lets go see the stars" kinda thing. Its just way more awesome and interesting. So you should do it. Thanks for making this a day we won't ever forget Scott!
