This tour was totally informative and fun ! Touring these glamorous spots and hearing thse tragedies is just too interesting, like seeing a train wreck, although morbid but somehow fascinating! Bad things are described with a little humor and fun,I totally reccomend this tour for anyone who enjoys the hu

mor found in scandal ! Its like a "Jerry Springer Show On wheels" only better !

Highly Recommended!--Hollywood Movie Tours

Highlight of our trip to LA. Equally enjoyed by 53 year old me and my 17 year old son. Good mix of relatively recent (last couple of decades) and classic (50's-60's) movie selections. Seeing the actual clips of the movie scenes as you stop--the van actually stops (although you don't get out) at the locations and doesn't just drive by--at each location adds immensely to the experience. You also see a few stars' homes in addition.

A fringe benefit of taking the tour is seeing beautiful LA residential neighborhoods--e.g., Hancock Park, Los Feliz--that you might otherwise miss, where the houses aren't behind hedges or gates.

A bathroom break is provided mid-way through the trip, but that is actually the only negative thing I have to say about the tour. The break is at a McDonald's whose restroom facilities are poorly maintained and apparently frequented by street people. Suggestion to tour operator: please find another place for the bathroom break.

I have been on the Dearly Departed tour twice, enjoyed it as much the second time as I did the first. It is indeed my favorite tour in Hollywood and the tour that I recommend to family and friends.

Dearly Departed Tours offers a rich, varied tour of homes and sites where the famous and infamous have lived, died and were even involved in crimes. Their office site has a small museum, too, which has everything from Karen Carpenter's sink to Divine's door. See you there!

The tour guide was great and knew many of the facts surrounding the specific cases of the victims. You could tell that he did his homework. A history of Hollywood and the surrounding area that was very informative and interesting at the same time. Just about the right amount of time for the tour with a convienent bathroom break in the middle. I would take another one of these tours without hesitation.

This tour is so much more than what you'd expect. It isn't dark and creepy. You get to see homes of stars from the past as well. Also, they seem to know the real stories of things as opposed to other tours. We met Scott and he was wonderful. Took all the time I wanted to talk about all this. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Even my son, who is 21 enjoyed it.

Fun tour but a lot of "who is he talking about"

Our tour was definitely enjoyable however much of it seemed lost on our generation. The highlight spots of our tour were where Rihanna was beat up and where George Michael (allegedly) propositioned an officer for sex. Much of the old hollywood info was lost on our group. Many of places and people they referenced were so far out of scope of knowledge that it fell on def ears.

Dearly Departed is not all inclusive on this tour!

After the tour, I told the guide that they should change their name as the tour includes so much more about Californnia history than just a tour of events about dead people. You will also see some historic landmarks and many little known trivia facts about the area. Most of the tour encompases the Beverly Hills area, which is mostly hidden from anyone viewing the area. Everybody wants to see Rodeo Drive and such, but there is so much more to see in tthe background. I am a trivia buff and a movie buff, and I still learned more than I knew on this tour and that was important to me!

The Dearly Departed Hollywood Tragical History Tour is the 2nd tour we've been on with Brian Donnelly (the best tour guide ever!). The first tour was the Dearly Departed Hollywood Movie Tour. They were both excellent tours! Brian is SO knowledgeable and FUN to listen to... He talks non-stop (this is a good thing! :) My husband and I had so much fun on this tour, we're planning to go on a third one the next time we're in LA. The tour van holds a small number of people and seemed very personal. Brain was enthusiastic, energetic and willing and able to answer any questions asked! We learned a lot , laughed a lot and had a ton of fun the entire time!

Recommendation: GO!!!! ...and have a blast!

The tour guide we had was excellent. I can't remember his name at the moment but he told our group things relating to murders and tragedy as well as fun facts about the city. I highly recommend to anyone with a sense of humor or interest in the infamous places in Hollywood/Beverly Hills!

My daughter and I went on the Dearly Departed Hollywood Tragical Tour while visiting the SoCal area. Brian was our tour guide and he was so much fun!!

We saw homes/locations where crimes actually took place, as well as several celebrity homes, which I didn't expect but really enjoyed. The tour was 3 hours long and very much worth the price. Brian is extremely knowledgable and not only gave us tons of information, he also interacted with our group which made it extra fun! He obviously loves his job and does it well!

I would definitely recommend a Dearly Departed Tour (we wanted to go on the Helter Skelter Tour but it didn't fit into our schedule).

Treat yourself to a tour...and prepare for an great time!
