The Helter Skelter tour was amazing!! Scott Michael's knowledge of the events surrounding the case are endless! Combine that with his engaging personality and you have an entertaining as well as informative tour!! There is music of the era as well as photos and video clips used during the tour. Scott also points out along the way interesting facts and locations that are part of LA history. I would not recommend this for young children. If you have not purchased Scott's DVD Six Degrees of Helter Skelter please do!!! It is fascinating and ends with a visit to Barker Ranch in Death Valley where Manson was arrested for the murders. It is a must see!! Thank you Scott and staff for a wonderful tour!!!!!!

Being interested in the Black Dahlia murder, I came across Dearly Departed Tours. Little did I know I was going to be taken on a ride with a funny, informative and inviting group of gents like Richard and company. I had a great time with his jokes and his banter, as well as the tidbits of Hollywood history he gave us along the way. Highly recommended.

Fun and not just all about darkness

Touched on many things, not just the places where people died. Saw old time Movie star homes. Had some laughs, and learn some things about Hollywood that I didn't know.

i was expecting to go to the site where the body of the black dahlia was found, but the tour did not go there. i still would have attended the tour, but i would have liked to know that so i could have made personal arrangements.

i was expecting to go to the gate of the cielo drive house, but the tour did not go there. i still would have attended the tour, but i would have liked to know that so i could have made personal arrangements. also, i was extremely pleased that scott, who hosts the "six degrees" dvd, hosted my tour. i came from minneapolis, mn specifically for the tour, so that made my day extra special.

The guide was enthusiastic and entertaining, added scandals along with notable deaths. The folks at the museam storefront were helpful and really know their stuff. If I had been in Hollywood longer, I would have also gone on the Marilyn specific tour.

Very good tour and the tour guide was so knowledgable and fun! Wish there would have been more people signed up for the the Hollywood Movie Tour. Bet that would have been good too.

If you are at all interested in the "Hollywood Babylon" side of things, you should definitely go on this tour. Our guide, Brian Donnelly, was great. Very informative, no lapses of silence, keeping the guests totally engaged. Funny, poignant, and also informative about things not "dark" in between official tour locales. For instance, between "tragic sites" he pointed out the recording studio in which the Beach Boys recorded "Pet Sounds." See what I mean? A really enjoyable afternoon. We got to the storefront a little early and Scott Michaels showed us some of the unique items he has there. You can get cold drinks for the ride from him. The tour stopped midway at the Farmers Market for a "pit stop" and Brian said not to worry if were not back in the specified 10 minutes exactly, he would wait as he has never lost a guest yet. By all means make this a "must" on your Hollywood schedule.

Do not be afraid...this tour was the best tour of the Hollywood area. History on Stars and Celebrities old and new. Good background info and pictures to go along with the tour. Fast paced and fun. Even the gory details were informative. Fun for all....but leave the children home.

Outstanding Tour

We had Richard as our tour guide and he did an outstanding job! He gave so much detail that it was wall to wall information. Richard I'm sure has seen these sights tons of times and could have left out some details but he was so informative and helpful...Kudos to Richard! We also enjoyed the synced music as we progressed through the tour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who has never seen this area. There is so much more to the tour other than where famous people died died...although that was the main point of the tour.

Thanks again Richard for a great tour!

Everything was great! But visibility was limited

Everything was great! But visibility was limited. I liked that we had a climate controled van but it was very hard to see a lot of things so I would've preferred a cloth top open van or bus. A mostly glass top van would be nice allowing better visibility and climate control
