Different side of Hollywood

Loved the enthusiasm and encouraged group participation of the host. He appeared extremly knowledgeable and very friendly. This tour could have gone longer and still seem short, because it remained interesting throughout the tour.

we are very into this type of knowledge, therefore we had such a great time, and brian the host was great at his job. he kept us entertained, we were not bored for any second of the tour and he gave as much details about each celebrity he mentioned during the tour. he greeted us right away when we walked in and was very friendly from the beginning. i had a marilyn monroe shirt, and he took the time at the end to advise me where to go to see her grave. he went out of his way to accomodate everyone and to make sure we had a great time. i would def recommend this to any of my friends who have the same interests for when they visit hollywood

Unique Hollywood Tour

Overall, I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide was Brian, and he was extremely enthusiastic and knowledgeable. I couldn't get over how he could drive and speak in so much detail at the same time! Brian is a walking (or, actually, driving!) Hollywood encyclopedia. I learned a tremendous amount in the approximately 3 hours of time, and it was super interesting. I loved how there was a mix of Hollywood death stories/locations, in addition to a seeing stars homes.

I have to mention a couple of things that could be improved. My family and I felt that the tour would have been much more comfortable for the people (which included 3 of my family members) sitting in the very back seat, if there was one less person. We were way too cramped together to be comfortable. Also, the tour went a little too long. A half hour shorter would have been better, especially since we had an uncomfortable seating arrangement.

Not just about Hollywood death!!

It was a great tour around Hollywood! Not only did we stop at houses and places famous for death, but the tour guide was very knowledgeable about other things. He pointed out lots of extra stuff and he even gave us other things to see outside of the tour. At the store front, Scott was very nice and spent 15 to 20 minutes talking to me and my friend. It is an excellent tour!

We did the Hollywood Movie tour last time and it was awesome, this one was even better! The guides have so much knowledge and they know lots of really cool facts about the troubles of Hollywood! We also purchased the Dearly Departed DVD which goes into a lot more detail and is definitely worth it! If you get a chance, go look at the stuff they have upstairs for display...really cool! We had Richard and he was fun, too bad the other family on our tour wasn't very exciting...HAHA.

I grew up reading books like "Hollywood Babylon", so it was a dream come true for me to see some of the sights described in this book. The guide was very friendly and informative. I also enjoyed viewing the movie star memorabilia inside the Dearly Departed office. I would definitely do this tour again, and bring a friend too.

I would highly recommend this tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and the bus was comfortable. The movie clips added to the tour. My husband enjoyed the house from Grease and I enjoyed going by the bridge where a scene from Dead Again was filmed. Great tour!

Took my almost 15 year old daughter on this tour and she was not bored a single time - which is saying a lot! We thoroughly enjoyed our guide Scott and everything about the tour. Very interesting facts and tidbits and lots of colorful commentary ... and tootsie rolls! Well worth the time and money.

First off, this is the ONLY tour worth your money in Los Angeles. From the start the booking was a breeze, finding the new office was easy as ever, it was 2 blocks from our hotel. Scott was amazing, he was very warm, friendly, and so knowledgeable, he invited us to tour his office upstairs and down. While we were upstairs our tour guide Brian joined us. He was so friendly and very knowledgeable as well, he guided us thru cases of amazing artifacts collected by Scott. We then headed downstairs and began to load into the 13 or so passenger van. The tour began. Throughout the tour Brian was full of information about each stop, he was very detailed and quick to correct and rumors we may have heard about a death with facts. He was so much fun, he kept us laughing, he added in his personal touch and was very professional. He was also giving us tips of things to see and do while in Hollywood, he was just so awesome. Upon our return to the office, Scott was waiting outside to make sure we all enjoyed ourselves, I've not really ever seen a business owner involved as much as Scott, He is so amazing, to personally thank us for taking his tour. Everyone was smiling and thanking them. We enjoyed it so much we are going back to do it again in 4 short months! Can't wait. Best tour we have ever done in Los Angeles by far! Dearly Departed totally won us over! LOVED IT!!

Very good tour - Loaded with info!

Found the tour to be fascinating. In addition to visiting all the crime scenes, etc., the tour guide was great in pointing out places of interest as we were driving from place to place (architechture, historic locations not neccesarily having to do with a crime, movie stars homes, etc.)

My favorite aspect of the Dearly Departed tours is just relaxing and being driven around Hollywood without having to think about traffic or directions. You can just sit back and look out the windows. In between tour destinations, just looking at daily life during a mid-summer day in Hollywood is great entertainment. Hollywood is second to none for people watching, and this tour allows that in spades.

Totally worth it. Take this tour.

I recommend this tour to anyone with an interest in Hollywood history and and interest in the Tate/Labianca case. The tour guide was great, with loads of factual tidbits that you don't get from more mainstream sources. Also, they were very good about making tour participants feel comfortable asking questions or adding information they might have themselves.

I have been following Scott's website for years and have watched his Helter Skelter documetary. Although Scott was not our guide on the tour, I did have the opportunity to meet him at the store.

This is a great tour for adults. You get to see normal points of interest as well as the death places. As mentioned on the site, this is not a good tour for children. As the tour is in process there is some recorded footage that is not appropriate for younger ears. My children went with me and they mentioned it and they are 24 and 21.

I would recommend this tour over any you will find around the heart of Hollywood any day.
