Brian was brilliant!

Ivy and Tom showed up for our morning tour and we were the only ones there but Brian showed up all smiles and espressing enthusiasim for having us on this little private tour. Brian was such fun and his passion for Hollywood history is easily apparent. Brian also made the experience interactive which was really fun. You occasionally see people in this life that are doing what they were meant to do and Brian is one of those people as his love for history and also people comes across. I know I have written a lot about Brian but I think it is noteworthy as Ivy and myself walked away feeling our $85 investment for this tour was well worth the price due to Brian's fun personality and passion for his city. I would most definately recommend any of my friends to take this tour especially if they have the same fascination that I have in some of the crazy wild history that surrounds us all. Strangely enough my favorite part was not want I expected. I was really taken by seeing the run down apartment that Bela Lugosa lived his final years in and died on the couch in. Weeks after the tour I looked his history up on line and learned so much about him and I was really struck with the image of Lugosa walking that neighbourhood old, alone and addicted to pain killers. He was a world icon and I thought I would love to spend a night in that apartment. So give Brian a raise or a big brass wrestlers type belt that has blazoned upon it "Best Crazy Dead People Tour Guide 2011" and he could wear it on the tours, well, no actually, his brilliant personality is enough, just give him a bonus or raise.

The high point of our "vacation"

You should understand that I have a severe attention deficient disorder and would rather stick a needle my eye than go on a tour bus. But I have been married for 28 years to the same woman and she has put up with me (and my mental problems), so it is only right that I make some compromises. From beginning to end, I would spellbound by Scott. He is an incredible source of information. He is a very interesting and dynamic individual. It was a small group in his van (six of us... it might have been eight). Each story and each stop was fascinating. Some of the images in his booklets (not meant for children) left me speechless. I was miserable the entire vacation except for the 3 hours and 20 minutes we spent in Scott's van. I understand he is planning a "Hollywood Movie Tour" .... if my wife drags me on another "vacation" I hope to get it included.

The Helter Skelter Tragical tour despite the dark history of the subject is an interesting and highly entertaining tour, the multimedia presentation interlaced with Scott's amazing knowledge of the case and hollywood history in general, you even see all the subcultures of LA whilst on it. Willy Wonka in his purple Willy Wonka car, tranny prostitute and a guy walking the streets with a matic (trench Digging tool). Looking forward to going on his other tours on my next trip to LA

The departed and much much more.

Brian knows L.A. and its history and obviously works hard to be good at his job. He is! He delivers a tour that's not just about the departed, but includes a lot of other fascinating L.A. information. I'm recommending this tour to all my friends who go to L.A. I've been going to L.A. for years and finally decided to do a tour. I couldn't have picked a better one. Thanks for a great time!

Definately Dearly Departed

We had an awesome time on the Dearly Departed Tour. As a couple of teachers in for a conference, this was just the humorously wonderful way to see Hollywood. The tour guide was fantastic. Very knowledgeable about everything, not just the dark side. The little museum inside was fantastic and they had some really nifty stuff. We were able to stop and get some great photos (although we couldn't possibly have had time to get out of the vehicle). The tour came complete with a binder of info to look at at various stops along the way (can't keep the binder). I highly recommend this tour!!

This tour is a must for anyone that has even a modest interest in seeing the controversial and dark side of Hollywood. They packed so much information into 3 hours it was incredible. We had Brian as our tour guide and he was fantastic. We may do this tour again on our next trip to LA.

We really enjoyed this tour. We loved how they'd show the movie scenes on screen and then took you to the place that the scenes were filmed. Brian was a great tour guide. He was enthusiastic and informative.

We had a great tour with Brian. Although there were only four of us on the tour I thought we would get the abbreviated version. Not at all. The tour lasted 3 hours. Brian answered all of our questions and then some. Look forward to taking another tour with them.

I had such an amazing time on this tour! Between the video footage and hearing details of what took place while sitting right in front of the buildings they took place in I was "in the moment" and got chills! Scott does such a great job of organizing this and is very knowledgeable and is willing to answer any questions and makes it fun!! It was so much fun re-living these moments in time. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and I highly recommend this to anyone that is interested in going. You won't be disappointed!! I will definitely be going on another tour in the future.

Thanks again, Scott for the tour! One of the best experiences of my life! : D

The Best Tour in LA
Fri, Sep 26, 14   1:00 PM TK42183 Male 30-39 International Tourist(s) Family Without Children
We've been coming to LA for more than 10 years annually and have always found tours to be a fun way to see the city, so we've done a few. None compare to Dearly Departed tours. We did the classic Tragical History tour and had an absolute blast. Our guide was incredibly fun and knowledgeable, the vibe on the bus was friendly and hilarious and the tour content was just fascinating. You learn all of the city's darkest secrets, but also see a huge amount of LA/Hollywood/West Hollywood/Beverly Hills and more. The museum back at the office was incredible, and Scott, the owner, was a great guy to talk to. I wish I could remember our guide's name, he was world class. All I can say is we'll be back. 110%. A great company that deserve your business.

Learn all the gory details about those two horrible nights in August of 1969 and see where the gruesome events took place as ever-knowledgeable Host Scott Michaels leads you through Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake, Benedict Canyon and beyond. Hear about the last moments of Sharon Tate and her friends as well as Leno & Rosemary LaBianca in graphic detail and you will understand why this was the crime of the century. Never boring, sometimes heartbreaking, always fascinating, this tour will stay with you long after its conclusion.
