Fairly good fishing

Fishing was good on our twilight trip, it would have been lots better with anchovies for bait, we had 90 % large sardines. And the 13 inch Calico bass in general were not large enough to swallow a large sardine. The Crew on the Clementine was good and very helpful. The bass readily went after the few chovies we had.

My son (15) went with 2 friends. They got 4 fish between the 3 of them and 1 was a mackerel. Captain should have known better locations to go to.

Enjoyed the day fishing, especially since it was a small group. I could imagine it getting too crowded with a full load. Only real complaint was in regards to the crew. A bunch of young kids who seemed more interested in their time joking around with eachother. Even decided they should clean the boat with everyone on board, having us move out of their way. They could use a reminder of where their paychecks come from. If I'm in the area again, I'll shop around. But not a bad outing for the price.

I was looking forward to going ocean fishing off the california coast, since I have done so many times off the

oregon coast. I went on the twilight trip, thinking that would be a good time to go. WRong! we went out for about an hour to what was supposed to be a good spot, nothing there, moved to another spot, 2 fish caught, for the whole boat, 12 fishermen, moved to another spot nothing , moved to another spot 2 more fish caught,.By then it was time to go back in.I was very disappointed, to say the least. When you concider they had boats going out all day, they should have known that the spots we were going to were fished out. needless to say, I will not be going back.

If you are going ,be sure to ask when you book if any fish are being caught or not. It's up to you if you want to waste your your money on a boat ride.

The boat was nice and we heard others commenting that it was one of the better boats it had been on. The staff was friendly and helpful. They got us to a great location where we caught a 43 lb. halibut! We look forward to coming back. :)

Where are the fish?

Even though I ended up catching the "jackpot" fish and mind you, it was the last fish caught as the skipper was hoisting the anchor, the fishing should have been alot better. We were the last boat out the docks (7:00am) and lost valuable time fishing. We wasted too much time fishing in spots that had no fish. The bait was bigger than the fish we were catching. The skipper should have taken us to the "Kelp Patties" where there are always fish instead of wandering around. Even little fish that can be caught and thrown back will be a thrill for the kids on board this boat. SOMETHING IS BETTER THAN NOTHING. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THOSE DAYS THAT "A BAD DAY OF FISHING IS BETTER THAN A GOOD DAY AT THE OFFICE". IT IS CALLED FISHING BUT WASTINGN TIME IS NOT MY IDEA OF A GOOD DAY FISHING.
