Overall, it was fun

We didn't see any whales due to the dense fog. Better to go later in the day I guess. Still, the crew took us into a pod of dolphins which was fun to see.

Fun even tho no whales

we went out on a cold and windy day. Unfortunately we didn't spot any whales. The trip was fun though - and we got a pass to come back again for free. The boat was nice and well-maintained - and the crew seemed very professional. Our only suggestion is that there could have been more commentary during the trip. No one said anything from when we left until we got back. I'm only assuming they would have said something if we had seen a whale.

Fun boat ride but no whales.

It was a nice day for a boat ride and saw lots of dolphins but no whales. The boat was nice but no whales. They gave us a ticket to come back but seeing as how they are not seeing whales and I live 2,000 miles away it doesn't seem like a free ticket is all that valuable.

Enjoyed the ride and observing sealife. Captain seemed very knowledgeable and the crew was professional and friendly. Unfortunately the whales didn't want to come up much above the surface that day but we did see them!

Dana Wharf was very professional and courteous throughout the trip. The boat was clean, they serve food and drinks on the boat which was great for the 8am trip. We unfortunately did not see any whales or dolphins, but they made sure to give each passenger a coupon that is good forever, for any time of day (upon making reservations). I look forward to the next trip out and hope we will see whales when we do.

We did not see any whales which was disappointing but lots of dolphins and sea lions. It was rough waters but fun. Next time we will bring blankets - the four year old with us did enjoy it but said it was too long. I guess two hours can be long for a little guy. We all had fun and the crew was great. Departures and arrivals were timely.

Good, if pricey whale/dolphin watching excursion

Decent enough experience - clean boat, good overall service. The boat confidently steams out and finds a group of dolphins just off the coast, stays there for a while (dolphins are fun to watch but very common!) and then goes off for an hour or so searching for whales or anything else interesting. It's nature and of course hit and miss. Going from the observation log on their website they're pretty honest about something like one in four boats seeing any larger mammals than the dolphins. Then at some point they give up and swing about and return to port. You got to see whales - the dolphins - so what's your complaint? At the price paid I would have liked a slightly longer excursion, or some kind of organized spotting effort to increase chance of exotic encounters. But I guess for most passengers the duration is fine.
