BEST NEW YEAR'S EVER!
Thu, Jan 2, 14   10:00 AM IamConnieZ Female 60-69 Domestic Tourist(s) Group of Friends
Two of us went on Jan 2nd at 10am. The fog had gone out to sea and it was cold but sunny. The captain was in touch with other boats so we headed to where a whale was reported. She was pretty far out but we could see the water sprout from her blowhole. That was exciting, but then we saw two on the land side of the boat spouting water. One had to catch up with the one further away, but then they were swimming in tandom and decided to go deep for food. THAT'S WHEN THE TAILS COME UP! It was spectacular to see both of them swimming and diving together.

The captain gave us a history lesson and explained what the whales werie doing, where they were going & why, and when they would return. He was very good!

My friend had gone out several times but only seen the spouts. Boy was she excited to see the tails! I came to CA for the Rose Bowl Parade & then we decided to go whale watching on the next day. I'm so glad we did! I will always remember the whales much more than the parade. A wonderful way to begin the new year.

Great activity terrible check-in

The actual event was great. Totally loved it even though we saw no whales. Nature is like that and I totally understand. I will certainly come and try again. Your captain was really good and informative and clearly knowledgeable. Your check in process though was simply terrible. The line was long and unbelievably slow. Terrible way to start the experience with a pointless standing in line. If I have bought and paid and printed my ticket why do you make me stand in line with those that have not done that. Instead of getting a coffee and finding a place on deck I had to stand there for 15 - 20 minutes waiting for someone who couldn't even operate the credit card machine. You guys really have to sort this part out. It's such a bummer to start an excursion like this with fifteen minutes of complete frustration. Had I not paid for the ticket yet, I would have walked away. Hope you fix it, despite this, I loved the experience on the water.

Hard to see whales

We saw 6 whales, 3 females and 3 babies but they were so far off that we didn't really "see" them. Better than not seeing anything at all, but it was a little disappointing. Nice to be out on the boat, beautiful, sunny day and the sea was calm. Informative Captain, nice crew. Lots of Dolphins and saw a few Seals. I think I would do this again if we have out-of-town company that do not live close to an ocean.

Excellent whale watching on a less than perfect da

While the weather was overcast and windy, it was still worth standing on the bow of the boat to watch the common dolphin playing along side the boat and the whale breach near by. The captain did an excellent job of circling so the 40-50 dolphins could play in front, beside, under and behind the boat for 10-15 mintes. Many opportunities for photos and videos. At the same time, his informational talk was interesting without being imposing. He waited over 30 minutes for us to see the whale breach 3 or 4 times before we had to speed back in order to not delay the next group. The captain's knowledge of marine life and the area was impressive and entertaining. A great value and highly recommended for families with kids of all ages.

Whales are right off shore so no long trek out to sea. Boat commodious. Bloody Mary's available for those with children (and food for kids as well). Very persistent crew in finding and tracking whales. Good commentary

What a great time we had. I have not seen my fiance so happy in quite a while.

It was better than I expected and so informative too.

The dolphins were wonderful enough and the grey whale was the icing on the cake.

We also saw sea lions.

We ate first at historic "Turks" which is right there.

No sea sickness just pure joy.

Thank you!!!!!!!
