Lots of fun

We are 10 friends that belong to the Red Hat Society. This was our February outing (2/25/12) - two days after the large group of dolphins were spotted. We did not see any dolphin but we did find a grey whale and followed him for about an hour. The crew of the boat were very informative, helpful and a lot of fun. We had been on a whale watching tour out of Santa Barbara last September and the crew was a dud compared to the crew we had on Saturday.

We were treated to one finback whale and some dolphins. The boat was comfortable and clean.

The grey whales are pretty much gone now. Left Berins Sea early this year because of weather and are already in Mexico. Might be a good idea to let people know that before booking. All in all a nice trip and worth the 2 hrs.

It was cold and windy, saw quite a few dolphins but no whales. We were disappointed as we had family from Europe and Chicago area with us.

A rare day. The weather was perfect, the boat wasn't too crowded and clean with great drinks and snacks, and the dolphins were out in droves. Even the Captain hadn't seen so many dolphins at one time. They were following the boat for miles, playing and jumping out of the water. A great treat.Yes, I know it was a whale watching tour, but we'll be back because it was a wonderful exciting and rare sighting.

We often take visitors to special things in the area, and whale watching is one of the true highlights. This trip we found and followed a grey whale for about 20 minutes, getting his rhythm, seeing the deep dive with tail flop a number of times. Really exciting. I love it because this is where the whales live; it's not SeaWorld. The boat trip up and down the coast is also very beautiful. I'll be back, alone or with visitors, many times again.

The crew tried very hard to find whales and did find one. However they found 50 dolphins that wanted to run with the boat. Very cool.

My wife and I are spending most of the winter in this area rather than in Kansas City. My cousin and his wife visited us and wanted to see the whales. We found the Dana Point site online and decided it sounded better than the site downtown. We had gone to Catalina before from Dana Point. We enjoyed the trip very much. Got to see Bottle-nosed Dolphins, at least one Gray Whale (on several occasions) and another species of dolphin (can't remember the name) that looked white. Everyone in our group thought the trip was well worth the fee, and we all would do it again.

A very pleasant experience

We thoroughly enjoyed the whale watching experience. Of course, it helped that we were able to follow a grey whale for about 1/2 an hour, and observed a school of 60 or more dolphins, finalized by viewing a small group of a larger species of dolpins. The captain of the boat shared knowledge regarding the different sea creatures we observed, which enhanced the experience. All in all, I would reccommend it and would do it again.
