great idea for a date!

If you have your heart set on spending a ton of time watching the dolphins or whales you may be a little dissapointed. We saw a good number of dolphins and stayed around them for about 15 minutes, but then kept going in search for a whale. We never found one, so the rest of the time we were just enjoying the ride. Its a nice relaxing time to spend with a date...lots of time for conversation...and of course great scenery. I would definitely recommend it! Since we didnt see a whale we did get a couple of vouchers for 10% off our next trip...and if you dont see anything at all they will give you a ticket for another free ride. Overall it was a great experience!

No dolphin leaping

This is the second time I have gone whale watching with them. I loved it the first time. We saw only dolphins and no whales (Jan 2008). The same this year (Jan 2009). The difference was that in 2008 they turned the boat in tight circles to make large waves. This made the dolphin pod we were watching jump and leap high in the waves a lot. It was really fun to watch. They did not do this on our 2009 trip and it was very disappointing.

They crew is great! The boat is clean and nice. They offer a great 1/2 price rate on Tuesdays.

If you want to have a good chance of seeing whales, go in the peak of migration season.

Exciting but little seasick

Arrived late and kindly they rebooked us to the next boat even though the ongoing festival (high season) , luckily watched a couple of whales (then mostly we followed them along the coast, are we actually harrassing whales?). Nobody prevented us from seasickness, not very rough but several passengers got sick. Personnel on board was very kind though. I highly recommend it but with a word of caution, not for the faint of heart.

Made the best of a day of rough water.

We were originally scheduled to do our tour on Tuesday, when it was pouring sheets of rain, but rescheduled it for Thursday, the first clear day in a week. Unfortunately, the ocean still had lots of waves, and everyone's stomachs were pretty queasy. Two younger members of our party "lost their lunches." Of course, the crew was doing its best to make it a good ride, but it seemed their efforts were thwarted. We couldn't find the grey whale we were seeking. In the end, they were able to redeem the trip by spotting a large pod of common dolphins. By then, all of us were feeling better physically, too, and it was a delight to see hundreds of dolphins swimming right along with the boat. All's well that ends well!

Ive been wanting to go whale watching since the first grade. I Was so excited that I was finally going. It was'nt what I hoped it would be. I seen dolphins that were wonderful .But I really wanted to see a whale. I seen one whale which was so far away,it was impossible to take a picture. U really have to be patient in waiting to see a whale because it takes them five to fifteen minutes to resurface again. Its a waiting game and a chasing game. All in all I would probally do it again. Maybe I will have better luck next time. I also was concerned where the life jackets were. The captain said they were located upstairs under the white benches. I was downstairs with many others and all I was thinking about was how was I going fo make it upstairs in an emergency to get a life jacket with all these other people. Hopefully I heard wrong that was the only location where the life jackets are.

We had a great time and were able to see 4 whales, one seal, and three sealions. We would have loved to have seen dolphins, but it just wasn't meant to be.
