Gorgeous, action-packed two hours

We went out on the first tour at 8am and were back right on time at 10am. The captain was very knowledgeable and he found three or four whales, a couple quite close to our boat. The swells and troughs were pretty intense and but the boat kept chasing whales so the no one in our group got ill. We had seats on the top deck, which I highly recommend. Just a beautiful day. Thanks!

I have lived in California for years and have never taken a local whale watcing trip. This one was terrific! The trip was very interesting as the Captain of the boat was very informative about various sea animals we incountered. We did see whales of which I have never seen this type of whale and we also saw lots of dolphins. The boat was large and was exremely roomy for everyone to move about. I would certainly recommend this trip.

The captain really knows his whales and their interesting patterns. The boat was clean and it was a very good value.

First timer and a Field trip :D

I went on a field trip with my Marine Mammals class from OCC. It was my first time whale watching and I had no idea what to expect. I had a great time! The crew and captain were very friendly, informative and willing to answer any questions anyone aboard might have had. Even though we did not see any whales the day my class and I went out we were all given a non expirering voucher to come back another day in hopes of seeing one. I thought that was very generous of them :) We were lucky enough to see hundreds of common dolphins and then the sea lions as they were in their natural surroundings. I thought it was awesome how the captain explained characteristics of the marine animals and their traits they distinguish. I do plan on going back and bringing friends/family to experience the fun time I had.

Great experience- 8 AM best time

We attended the 3/3/13 tour at 8 AM so were part of the first group on the boat for the day; this meant parking was easy and the boat was clean, which is key (restrooms can get nasty). The tour guide/ boat captain whom we heard over the loudspeaker was excellent; we really appreciated his descriptions and facts of whale and dolphin behaviour, as well as Dana Point geography; it truly enhanced the experience; disappointed we didn't catch his name and didn't see him to thank him upon departure. LOTS of kids but we expected that. 2 hours is perfect- much longer would be too long.

Whale Festival Dana Point

I saw the Ad on an EMail from Fast Trax. Loked like a good activity. I bought (2) tickets on line. Nice and Easy. It turned out to be a beautiful day. We saw the first grey whale for the festival thi syear as well as many many dolphins, seals and more. The (2) hour ride was almost too fast. As we were on the 8:00 A.M. tour, afterwards we spent the rest of the day enjoying the activities in the area and then taking a romantic trip up the coast to Laguna Beach. We will do again!

Did you ever sit on a boat for 2 hours and think it was 10 hours? NOT going to happen here!

The captain gave a informative spiel with a mix of whale hunting, whale watching and dolphin fun. A great trip even if you see no whales. Great day on the seas~!

pricy and little to no fish

We love fishing. We fish almost every weekend. We fish on a boat with the Dana Warf Sportfishing, about 1 to 3 times a year. We don't go that often with them because the total price is too much and fishing has been slow. The crew members are really nice and helpful. They taught us how to tie the hook on better with an easy, but strong knot. Some people catch big ones and even interesting ones. On these trips I have seen moray eels caught and even a large shovel nose guitar fish. We almost always see dolphins and sea lions. It's nice to be out there, but you may not get you money's worth. Some days of fishing are great, while other are not. I would suggest to just fish off of a pier you like best, you might have a better chance. We fish at San Clemente pier a lot. We hope fishing will be good for all people, so fishing on the boat might be worth it. Good luck fishing everyone, no matter where you fish, how you fish, or who your with.

The whale watch trip was incredible. The catamaran was the perfect size boat and was so comfortable. Our captain knew exactly where to take us and we saw whales and a huge pod of dolphins! It was a great trip and I am definitely going again.
